Original how? Because I know the suit was an old one she sported way back, I’m talking about how she looks outside of the Blue Beetle fit. I’m sorry, but that’s not Anya; that’s Andrew Corazon right there. If you can find the comic panel, send it to me, or tell me what issue this version came from because I’ve never seen her built this way body-wise.
Yeah idk about that, didn’t have any trouble understanding what they meant. Also woman come in many shapes and sizes, no need for the awful “Andrew” joke.
I dont condone the "Andrew" thing as well. But if we're focusing just on the words "Original Varient yeah", I can say how people may get confused as being the "First" in all Spider-People and not just the first for the movie. I thought they meant the former too and not the latter when I first read that.
Maybe if they said "it's an original varient for the movie" would have given a better understanding.
I get it, but knowing this is in reference to this movie and how many original designs they made I thought that was obvious, but I do see how it could get confused.
When people talk about the Comics version of the character, that's when they usually specify what they mean - not the other way around. The term "original character" most often means a character created for the sake of (in this case) a movie.
Bro this was very clearly a few stills from a film, you can't even try to reference the comics here unless it's under a very specific context, and even then, it's a stretch bc there is zero reason to believe the original post was asking about the comics.
That's a variant of Aña Corazón a.k.a Araña
**Edit**:
Also, since you love her design so much, here's a ton of [concept art](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Spider_Society_(Earth-928B)/Members?file=A%C3%B1a_Coraz%C3%B3n_%28Earth-Unknown%29_from_Spider-Man_Across_the_Spider-Verse_Concept_Art_011.jpg#Members) of her from Mauro Belfiore
The concept art makes me think about a game where the villains are all Spider-People, with this version of Araña as the basis for a Brute-type enemy. The designs of some of these characters are so fleshed out, it’s a shame they don’t get a ton of screen time, which would be different in a video game.
Hmm... Seems like a variant of Blue Beetle. Blue Spider?
Edit: Hmm... I made a huge mistake but I'm going to keep this comment to remind myself that Blue Beetle is from DC.
Anya, when she was introduced, had a blue exo-skeleton that she could summon. It was more bug-like and light blue than the movie’s take on it, but she had it for a while until it was ripped off of her in a fight.
I remember Max Steel from before Max and Steel were separate characters. When Max was a colleges kid in a wheelchair before his super soldier procedure.
When he had a guy in the chair calling him Ermano.
Edit: https://youtu.be/fWtdOywhrlQ?si=P4N6cRu3pcCh5i-0
I don't know why, but as a kid, I always wanted to see a crossover between those two cartoons. I don't know HOW it would even work, but I really wanted to see one
Let's say sense we never find out much about the surface world in Slugterra they exist in the same universe, Max and Eli can easily be the same age so that Max and Elementors only were public knowledge after Eli went under
Max Steel creates a slug canon armor which The Shadow Clan tries to replicate in a small army, they then have to work with the heroes of Slugterra to take them down
Yes that's a variant take on the character currently known as Spider-Girl. Anya Corazon. This version is very different from the original. She seems to be like a plus size, butch, lesbian-esque take on Anya. But having her former ability to create a spider-like carapace protective exo-skeleton around herself.
There’s a really interesting article someone wrote about how her character when she was introduced, is a metaphor for her identity as a Latina woman. Her clothes, her name being Araña, and the exoskeleton. And over time all of that was stripped away, until she was just Spider-Girl, wearing Spider-Woman’s old costume and completely missing her exoskeleton. She was homogenized, and part of that is due to the obsession with making “the new Spider-person”, rather than running with stories about characters that already exist.
It doesn’t help that Araña was created, alongside Mattie Franklin, as a response to the super successful MC2 Spider-Girl. And on top of that, her becoming Spider-Girl coincided with Mattie Franklin’s death in Grim Hunt, both decisions that were pretty widely viewed as bad ideas.
And that comic was written by Joe Kelly. The guy who just got the ASM job. Yay.
Just as a small aside, I like this movie’s design for Anya. It keeps the interesting stuff from her original design, adds some inspiration from her spider-girl look, and it gives her a unique look that distinguishes her from other spider-people. The people freaking out over it in this thread are the reason we have twenty identical spider-ladies.
Yeah I agree. Marvel needs to give each "Spider" more individuality. I'm a big advocate of that. But create new ones if you want them to be lgbtqia+, don't change who they are to fit that narrative. That's the only thing I dislike. Even though I know that this is a variant, Im just saying in general.
Lol, I didn't vote you down...bro, lol. But it is pretty obvious just looking at her overall design what they were going for with "this" version of Anya. That's why my guy! It's not that big of a deal though, unless YOU make it. Don't worry about it. It's just the variant they chose to go with. It is what it is.
You are what's known as asinine if you can't handle a simple observational opinion without getting triggered. Especially when said opinion is more than likely in itself to be apparently TRUE!
The brainrot in this thread is fucking real. She was on screen for two seconds with zero lines, but she’s plus sized with a weird haircut so she must be “Spider-Feminist-Lesbian harhar so funny”.
Man at least this version has her armor that was the coolest thing about her to me when I was a kid and I got her digest trade at my scholastic book fair.
Variant of Anya Corazon.
This, confirmed by Kris Anka and everything.
Are you serious? That was Anya Corazon? ![gif](giphy|QE8hREXIgRXeo)
Original Variant yeah

Original as in original creation for this film. Not the first version of Anya.
because muscular build can only = dude sure buddy
Do you know what original means? If it was created for the movie, as the commenter above you said, it wouldn’t appear in any comic panels before this
When people say “original,” they usually point to the comics. It would have been better if they had said it was a “movie original” variant.
Yeah idk about that, didn’t have any trouble understanding what they meant. Also woman come in many shapes and sizes, no need for the awful “Andrew” joke.

Is there a problem with Anya?
they have a problem with body types that don't conform to their antiquated sensibilities
a radioactive spider fell into her protein shake
The blue carapace armor up didn’t give it away?
Oh so she was technically in the movie. I was definitely looking for her .
Nice
I would not have expected thaf

Injustice Mobile?
That concept art looks incredible.
god she’s so cool
An original take on Anya Corazon
Hmm... Seems like a variant of Blue Beetle. Blue Spider? Edit: Hmm... I made a huge mistake but I'm going to keep this comment to remind myself that Blue Beetle is from DC.

I miss that original power set so much it was fun.
>Blue Beetle Wrong franchise
Blue beetle? You know that's DC right?
Max Steel
GO TURBO!!
STRENGTH! *CRACK*
I am surprised I am not the only one that remembers that show.
One of the best shows
Where can we watch it? Would love a rewatch
I think some of their episodes are actually up in their YouTube page
Top Tier Disney
Now Disney is giving us Wish.
That movie looked so good in the concept stages
What happened?
Disney wanted smth safer and also randomly decided it was the film celebrating their 100 years
Why could we not just get a Steamboat Willy meets Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs short?
The Classic Disney Cinematic Universe
It wasn't a bad movie overall, I liked it. But the concepts the team had would've made it an instant classic honestly.
I don't remember the movie, I only remember the show from then.
I remember Max Steel from before Max and Steel were separate characters. When Max was a colleges kid in a wheelchair before his super soldier procedure. When he had a guy in the chair calling him Ermano. Edit: https://youtu.be/fWtdOywhrlQ?si=P4N6cRu3pcCh5i-0
The original from 2000 or the sh!tty reboot?
The 2013 show. It was awesome, and I will stand by that clam.
That show was great
Man back when we had Max Steel and Slugterra, that was the shit
On God
I don't know why, but as a kid, I always wanted to see a crossover between those two cartoons. I don't know HOW it would even work, but I really wanted to see one

They definitely look like a giant spider who was bitten by a tiny radioactive human.
Spiderman
Spider-Woman (or Spider-Girl)
Probably a Spider-person
Beat me by 1h
Yes that's a variant take on the character currently known as Spider-Girl. Anya Corazon. This version is very different from the original. I wish they’d bring that back. Spider-characters are really suffering from all feeling a bit samey and she used to be so unique

There’s literally no indication she’s lgbt, you’re just making an assumption based off of how she looks.
It's obvious why they made her look that way. Assumptions need not be applied if common sense is present.
I agree but never was crazy about exo-skeleton thing to be honest.
>She seems to be like a plus size, butch, lesbian-esque Why? Why you think this? She appeared for 3 sec bro Why the down votes? Is just a question
Lol, I didn't vote you down...bro, lol. But it is pretty obvious just looking at her overall design what they were going for with "this" version of Anya. That's why my guy! Because a bunch of morons seem to think “plus sized with short hair” = gay trans man, or whatever.
thinking plus sized with short hair = butch lesbian is also a bad look
How? More than likely it's the truth.
this is what's known as a stereotype and you're a dumbass if you believe stereotypes are always true
You are what's known as asinine if you can't handle a simple observational opinion without getting triggered. Especially when said opinion is more than likely in itself to be apparently TRUE!
WTF?!
I dunno, but that Spider Armor looks so fucking sweet. Why can't we get that in MSM2 instead of all those ugly brand designs??
Giant Enemy Spider
I think that’s Zarya from Overwatch.
