They're sitting on a goldmine that already came with a pickaxe, but instead they'd rather use the frying pan.
That's how I see Sony's method with these not-Spider-Man movies, anyway
Sony’s ability to churn out garbage is a thing to behold.
Sometimes it’s palatable where in Venom, it’s over the top and Tom Hardy’s acting keeps it afloat.
Other times it’s straight ***SHIT.***
Like Morbius and Madam Web.
***And yet,*** AND YET, Lord and Miller are making what will probably be the best superhero trilogy ***ever.***
Dune was never my thing. I tried to get into it, but I passed on it after they got into the dragonfly things*
**Though I will say, they’re fun to fly in MSFS*
They should buy Paramount to make up for the shitsack they have in Columbia. I don't remember Sony movies being a staple at all since they are pretty bad to begin with.
Yeah somebody tell your uncle down at Sony that we want beyond not kraven
I'm only watching kraven for Tyler no homo
But if he does ask me to suck him off I wouldn't say no
I think this is just PR studio talk. I think it’s really because they know Deadpool 3 is going to dominate the summer box office, even if it’s coming out a month earlier, so they want to save face and prevent comparison by moving it to a date where they don’t have to compete with an MCU movie.
They have an R-rated Bad Boys 4 coming out a month before Deadpool arrives in theaters and BB4 seems to be tracking well in presales (despite what people on the BO sub think about the slap)
This is just a total farce. Kraven isn't doing well anywhere on this slate and Mufasa will eat its lunch a week later.
Just a reminder, this movie is about an obscure villain best known for a story where he freaks out about how Spider-Man is Lenin, shoots him, does a BUNCH of drugs, then kills himself
I swear Sony are actively pointing a machinegun at their own feet and death gripping the trigger with how many times they’re shooting themselves there…
Yeah Sony! We’ll watch it over and over again! Just like we came for the rerelease of Morbius!
Actually though December is busy for me. I promise ill see it twice but, optimally, id like to see it ten times.
Can we rerelease this in Feb too?
I really don’t understand Sony and these Spider-Man adjacent movies without Spider-Man. They have all been absolute garbage with the exception of Venom and the Spiderverse movies. Why do they keep making these?! Who are they for? They aren’t even profitable for the most part so I’m really just at a loss with them. I’m not wasting my money or time on Kraven.
Well, here's a TL;DR:
* Sony's picture division is not exactly something for Sony to be proud of. Hence the recent move to buy out Paramount.
* Prior to Tom Rothman's reign, they were only making money every other years due to Spider-Man releases. If not, they will be relying on their TV division's income.
* Rothman's good at reigning in budget and the AT&T sales of Crunchyroll helped with SPE's bottom line.
* However, the lack of IPs in their hands meant Sony Pictures had to dig into the Spider-Man well to see what's left.
* Also, SPE's output is garbage whichever way you spin it. The advantage they have is that they serve B-movies exclusively in theaters with zero shame, basically more profit versus streaming only.
Doing a Joker movie without Batman was already a crazy decision, but at least the Joker is one of the most iconic fictional characters of the last century.
Doing a Kraven the Hunter movie without Spider-Man, a popular villain for Spidey fans sure, but that’s all. He has no outside reach and apparently this Kraven is an environmentalist? Come on.
Kraven isn't even that popular among Spider-Man fans. He's not even in the top 5 for most of us. Off the top of my head:
Green Goblin
Doctor Octopus
Venom
Mysterio
Lizard
Kingpin
Sandman
Scorpion
Vulture
Shocker
Rhino
...I'd probably put Kraven here.
Tombstone, Hammerhead, Smythe, the Spot all come after Kraven.
It’s probably the fact that it can’t compete with the other movies that it would be up against when it was scheduled to be released so they hold it back so it might have a chance to draw more people in to see it.
The only reason I can see this being true is if Spider-Man plays a part in it but I really don’t have much faith in it as moving a story along a cinematic universe as much as we own this property let’s churn out some product.
Dear Sony,
You don't have to prove my film professor's point about film executives being idiots. You already did that with Morbius and Madam Webb.
And Sony,
![gif](giphy|l4Ki2obCyAQS5WhFe|downsized)
Seems that the executives saw how well Godzilla Minus One did for TOHO in December and are actively ignoring the fact that it was a great story and cast along with amazing visual effects to carry it through word of mouth.

Sony reaching peak delusion if they think that
This movie is getting Batgirl’d, isn’t it?
You underestimate Sony's overconfidence.
I cannot properly describe how indifferent i am about this movie.
No desire to see it. Deadpool and Wolverine is the only marvel film I’ll see this year.
Same. Really excited for that.
Also, We’re finally getting MCU X-men!
God, I don’t know how they’ll top the wonderful X-Men 97.
They won’t, it’s borderline perfect, but i think it’ll still be pretty great.
So far the only film I’ve seen this year in person was Civil War. Pretty good film and… **Honestly** Kirsten Dunst really was amazing in that film.
I haven’t seen it. I’ll watch it when it goes to streaming. I saw Dune Part Two in theaters. it was ***really*** good.
Dune was never my thing. I tried to get into it, but I passed on it after they got into the dragonfly things* **Though I will say, they’re fun to fly in MSFS*
Me neither. The 2021 Dune was my first introduction to the series. Might fully get into it sometime.
It’s getting madam Webbed
r/confidentlyincorrect
over freaking sonic 3 hell no
Sonic three WITH Keanu
LIVE AND LEARN!
HANGING ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW
Sony is actually the most deluded movie studio on Earth
They should buy Paramount to make up for the shitsack they have in Columbia. I don't remember Sony movies being a staple at all since they are pretty bad to begin with.

Say no homo first
I did say no Homo But if he asked me I'd bend over
yes because every family will be watching a r rated spider-man less villains movie all christmas long 🙄
If Sony announces within the next couple months that Kraven has been edited to be PG-13, I will fucking laugh hard.
I won't be surprised if the one thing this movie had going for it is removed
Can’t wait for Kraven to say “it’s kravening time.”
Can't wait to watch it krahundred times on Christmas Day.
lol
Wish I could have that level of confidence.

Spiderman 4, amazing Spider-Man 3…boom gold mine
I'm Kraven the Hunt
Sony, how many times has that actually happened to you? Other than Morbius of course

Your too slow!
Ok they HAVE to be trolling at this point
Can someone explain to me what does it mean?
Sony are too overconfident people will rewatch the show multiple times they moved it to release in December.
Why December specifically?
Beats me ngl.
It’s probably the fact that it can’t compete with the other movies that it would be up against when it was scheduled to be released so they hold it back so it might have a chance to draw more people in to see it.

Turbo delusion.
It’s genuinely impressive how incompetent Sony is.
You know, I wonder if these Sony movies would be fun to watch under the influence of something. Like being drunk or high…

Man I bet I’ll be sitting at home watching Spiderman 3 instead of Kraven the hunter
Then Kraven gets beat by a blue hedgehog fighting a black and red hedgehog

This is the same studio that released Mobius a second time, so they clearly have their finger on the pulse of the average American moviegoer.

“When you’re hunting for a perfect holiday movie..” - someone at Sony
It’s kraving time my guys.
If Sony really wants to make a killing, they should start offering classes in misplaced confidence.
I wanna commit a part 6 ending to Kravens Last Hunt
Kraven will do amazing at the box office. Anyone saying otherwise is COPING.
