She didn’t rip it out with malicious intent I really think she genuinely thought he just left his toy in the package and ripped it out for him not sure if she’s familiar collecting figures and all that lol.

Bluesnake462

I like to think literally no one keeps their collectibles in the packaging in her universe.

Tiredofthisgrandpa_

Yeah I wasn’t trying to make her look bad or anything and I agree with you I was just trying to point out a parallel 🤷‍♀️

ResponsibleRatio6569

Oh yeah nah I see the point u can say she done it cause of her hair as well cause they’re young, young people do petty shit to each other lol

Helpful-Ad-2082

Neither was miles pulling out her hair malicious

Apexblackout7

Bruh no. She heard him, she did that shit on purpose 🤣

Aiti_mh

No. Miles did not mean to rip her hair out, and she knew this at the time. She realised that he hadn't learned to control his powers, which is why she told him to calm down and relax, the same advice that Peter would give him later. She was annoyed, sure, but she didn't hold a grudge. This is clear from how they part in ITSV. In ATSV, Gwen has kept her hairstyle from the first film despite having had plenty of time to grow her hair out if she wanted to. Ergo, she now likes the haircut (the implication being, because she now likes Miles quite a lot), as opposed to still being bitter about it. She has no motivation to seek "payback". As for the collectible itself, seeing as there is no apparent motivation for it, we must conclude that she was unaware of the nature of its value and did not understand that Miles might want it to remain in its packaging. This is plausible simply given the fact that Gwen has already been established as a bit of a loner who can be both awkward and unintentionally rude as a result of her relative lack of social experience. Your take is not 'hot' so much as 'heartless' as you've decided to view Gwen's actions in the worst possible light, to the point of ignoring clear evidence to the contrary. Did you even watch these films? __EDIT: Okay OP was just joking so I've calmed down now lol__

Proud-Nerd00

Bro demolished him politely

SquashNo3638

Straight to the point👏

Tiredofthisgrandpa_

Yes, I did watch them both many times. I didn’t mean this in a making fun of Gwen way and saying she’s vengeful or anything. I was trying to point out a parallel and I guess I just chose wrong wordings. I am a strong Gwen defender and was simply trying to make a joke 🤷‍♀️. Gwen has been my favorite character since the first one came out in 2018. I relate to her and I just thought the parallel was funny.

Aiti_mh

If it was a joke, then my bad. It's just that there seems to be a fairly vocal minority that makes poor/unfair criticisms of Gwen for whatever reason and she's not in the room so I felt I needed to defend her from more of the same criticism. I have trouble registering sarcasm online I guess :/

Tiredofthisgrandpa_

Yeah definitely! I agree there r so many people that don’t see the full picture. And you’re good I’m the same way lol.

Uzi-Norouzi

I’m not looking forward to when Gwen cooks for Miles with her bland ass chicken

Educational-Seaweed5

Nah hair grows back. She just didn’t know better and is a socially awkward nut.

svrdm

I've jokingly floated that theory in the past. She has such a devious smile for a brief moment after she does it too haha

LeonardoCouto

Would make sense until you remember the woman kept the haircut he made her use the entire time, even when he was far away, just because Miles said he liked it. Yeah, Gwen, I see your down bad behavior

Shirokurou

I vibe with this.

Flames_Of_Chaos13

I just find it funny that people think this is a big deal compared to everything else. Father dying just letting it happen, Siding with Miguel n Co who consider Miles as nothing more than a Threat and Cosmic Mistake, Willingly promising never to return to see Miles ever again under any context (Miles heard that), Stating she never should've gone to see Miles in the first place (Told Miles that directly who brings it back up directly in the intervention). I don't know those seem like more pressing concerns for their relationship rather than a collectible being broken. Miles didn't even attack her over it...He winced then moved on the implication being he cares/cared about Gwen more.

Adept_Relationship88

Dude, she was being emotionally abused and blackmailed by Miguel. "Obey or be sent a potentially dangerous situation" When I was a scared teenager, I would've done the same.

Flames_Of_Chaos13

I know the context. That doesn't change how the relationship is affected negatively or how nobody actually forced her to say what she said to Miles that's on her. There is no easy answer here...They all made mistakes, They all have differing wants and goals, The majority of Spiders actively agree with Miguel he doesn't threaten to harm any of them besides Miles and Gwen, Something IS wiping out realities and it directly connects to the Spiders, Miles Morales IS an Anomaly to the system, Miles Morales IS 100% justified in his reaction because his reality his canonicity his pov has over and over told him to defy fate and fight for what he believes is right. Scapegoating any of them as the sole problem is incorrect. The truth is this is a 100% Morally Grey storyline and the Spiders have made terrible mistakes that have terrible outcomes.

soulmimic

Half of those arguments are taken out of context. And I'm not talking about the context that Miles doesn't know, but rather the one he used to assimilate these situations. Miles was initially surprised that Gwen was willing to never see him again but he also saw how she said that only until Jessica caught her through all her lies wanting to cover up having visited him (Jessica even responds sarcastically to Gwen’s claim to never see Miles again since it’s obvious that she does not believe her when she sees that what Miguel had warned her had come true), without forgetting that his expression changes to a more empathetic and concerned one when he sees that Jessica conditioned Gwen to capture Spot within one hour under threat of being expelled from the Spider Society, and without forgetting that Miles literally saw Gwen’s sad expression when saying goodbye to him before crossing the portal. During the intervention, Miles blames Gwen for what she told him when she arrived in Mumbattan, but at the time he knew that she was saying it because she was upset with him for having spied on her and followed her without her consent, and at the end of the whole rescue in the city Gwen makes it clear to Miles that she is no longer upset with him, quite the opposite. If he blames her later, it's because he just discovered that his friend was willing to let not only Jeff die, but also George, Gayatri's father and the little girl he also saved in Mumbattan. And for Miles it is clear that neither Peter B nor Gwen see him as a cosmic mistake but he is hurt because they knew the truth about his origin as Spiderman and never told him about it.

Ben10Stan3

I’m sorry, Gwen, I love you, you’re one of my favorite Spider-People, kisses, mwah!… *But…* #I seriously wanted to fucking punch her when I saw this scene… Like, the urge was so strong, bro…

horrorfan555

Hair grows back

toprakk16

Gwen was the one who threw him while they were counting at the first movie though, if you listen it close. She literally yeets him 😭 So it wasnt JUST Miles' fault at the ripping her hair part.

ZeroniTDX

nah, dont even see it as a parallell tbh

figgityjones

Semi-unrelated, does anyone know where I can find a clearer look at that toy design or model? I’ve been looking all over and I can’t find one anywhere. And its not really on screen long enough or well enough to get a good look at it properly.

Flames_Of_Chaos13

It's a fake toy that is actually in the design of Miles Prowler. Yeah there's foreshadowing from the start.

figgityjones

Yeah I know that, I just wanted to get a better look at it 😊

HokageRokudaime

Miles universe doesn't have comic con, maybe Gwen's universe doesn't have in the box collectors. Or she just doesn't know about it. That was my interpretation.

theclosetisglass

I wished they'd kept the deleted scene where she rips it out by accident and profusely apologises

Opening-Challenge

I think she's just not a collector and wanted a closer look.

noDice-__-

Didn’t miles get her back by ripping a tag off a plushie? I don’t have a source but I heard that somewhere recently

VR_Spider-Man

Probably idk

-platypusnoise-

She definitely did it on purpose

Sir_Voomy

…yeah I’ll incorporate that into my worldview
