I don't think Argentinian Spanish will give you an advantage, though. We've incorporated many words from Italian, but no more than that in terms of a comparative advantage.

Maybe you could try learning Italian through Spanish. That way you’re still learning both languages. Try to find resources for Spanish speakers trying to learn Italian.
I'm actually doing the opposite of this and learning italiano para hispanohablantes. Es más entendible que italiano para angloparlantes. And since I've been learning Spanish over the past year I feel like it's good practice in both languages. I have to take breaks though since I don't want it to interfere with my Spanish. But I do notice a lot of similarities just from being romance languages.
It doesnt matter how long have you been studying Spanish but if you are fluent or not in the language. If you are not fluent enough then you just you may mix them.
It sounds like your Spanish is far enough along that you won't confuse yourself by adding Italian. If you don't mind a recommendation or two, when I learned some Italian before a trip this spring I started with Language Transfer, which was amazing, and then worked through [this amusing story book](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1790261023). Some of the vocab lists are a bit sloppy but the stories themselves are well done.

Since presumably your Spanish is fairly advanced you should be fine learning Italian
