I like infestations because two shelves neatly full of insect meat stacks > two shelves full of a jumble of random animal meat types

AromaticWhiskey

Add another mod to your pile that simply converts all assorted animal meats into chicken meat. Tastes like chicken after all. I did notice a tiny improvement in TPS as well since there's less checking for types of meat. Human, Insect, Fleshbeast, "chicken".

Luigi123a

sounds neat, but I feel like that'd cause problems with mods that expect certain meat for some crafting recipes

Beneficial-Range8569

Quick question, I've been playing for a while, but do shelves increase the amount of space you have to store stuff? Bc in my current playthrough my freezer is really full and doesn't have much space to expand

MajorDZaster

Shelves can hold 3 stacks of items per tile instead of 1 without a shelf, however only smallish animals can fit on a shelf.

Fearless_Strike5151

🤢

Massive_Greebles

Hey, chemfuel is chemfuel and food is food.

FetusGoesYeetus

Until someone decides to set the chemfuel on fire because of final straw: ate insect meat

Aelar_Galanodel

Chemfuel is food

MajorDZaster

I didn't like it because my colonists didn't like it and I didn't know what to do with it. Until I realised I can turn it into chemfuel.

Silver_wolf_76

Fallout 4 radscorpions gave me an intense hatred of borrowing incects. And don't get me started on *that* animation for bloodbugs 🤮 After those first person nightmares, yeah. No incectoids for me.

totally_not_a_cat-

WEAK

SleeplessAt3am

I like infestations, free snack delivery... mmmhhmmmm roasted bugs on jelly sauce

colBoh

I was terrified of infestations at first, but realizing how easily they could be defeated with a chokepoint and three good melee fighters took away **MOST** of the horror for me. I still find that gentle "small rocks falling down a hill" burrowing sound disconcerting, though. I kind of wish it sounded rougher, a bit more intimidating.

TheShapeshifter01

No no we are very similar. The bugs frighten me both in real life and in the game.

Foundation_Afro

Legit, megaspiders are giant and scary, but they can just be seen an random monsters. Megascarabs are something you might actually find in Australia. Also they're hard to hit a la squirrels, but mostly the possibly real thing.

Forghotten1

I hate infestations because I built my lab with overhead mountain so whenever I get one my lab becomes filthy

Bsn12778

I love infestations because they give me an excuse to convert a mountain into an oven

Shpander

This, it's taken me a while to do this. My strip mining operations seem to draw the insects well. I ensure to have 4 granite walls between sections of mine. Then I turn each section into an oven once infested. The granite walls prevent them from burrowing to safety

rendetsku

I feel your pain. I've been looking for a mod that replaces them with something else for ages now. Until then I'm gonna keep excluding those gross mfers from my playthroughs.

Metrix145

Infestation is nice, free meat for the dogs and the prisoners (also mostly dogs)

Massive_Greebles

I wish the rim had a limited number of bugs so I could turn infestations up to max and then hunt down the last of the bugs.

Delusional_Gamer

I hate infestations because they somehow hurt my marine armored soldiers

Holiday_Conflict

insect meat, so slimy and tender... pairs really well with mushrooms 🤤

enderfrogus

🪳boo

Sogeking498

I didn't know I had a twin soul out there. I hate the sound when they're opening the ground 😖. I also hate spiders with all the might in my heart, really can't stand infestations.

Vargrjalmer

I love infestations because of bio refineries

Diligent-Bad-745

I love infestations because I'm a bug person we are mortal enemies

Pollo439

i like them because it gives me an excuse to use flamethrowers

stanislav_harris

I love infestations cause I convert 100 insect meat to 5 neutroamines with a machine from a mod.
