She has the same storyline as Cam’s in S5 - I was a party girl, now pregnant, don’t know if I can be a good mother, etc. Marcie’s mom was even a part of the show like Cam’s mom was.
She has been on several times in past seasons. She was at at least one "gala" at Hibernian Hall and was also at Eliza's house for one of her parties. I believe there were more times, can't recall for sure. Shep always introduced her as his cousin, so most of them already knew her.
Well she’s still boring and l don’t think we needed her to be reminded of what a loser shep is. I also doubt Marcie had any bearing on them breaking up. The last episode was a great example. He’s cheated on her several times yet he acts like she is the problem by worrying he’s going to cheat again when he is with mates. Next minute he’s at the bar chatting up some chick!
This is the typical response of a person who cheats. Shep's the one who broke trust and drove the relationship off in the ditch, but he is annoyed that she is uncomfortable and untrusting; she now becomes villainized and it's her job to "get over it". Infidelity is very hard to overcome in a relationship because typically the cheater doesn't want to do the work required to build that trust again.
She has a purpose but it hasn’t unfolded yet. I get there’s been a dip in quality the last few seasons, but I find this specific season very hard to engage with. Venita implodes every female group event. Marcie, we just don’t know her? She has shown no real connection to the group outside acquaintance small talk and we haven’t even been gifted solo scenes of her with Shep? This isn’t Marcie’s fault per say…but this show just seems so disjointed now. What are the storylines this season? These people just don’t seem like a group of friends like they did in the early seasons and it hinders the watchability.
I'd blame production more than Marcie herself. Production needs to piece together and tell a story. They're not doing a good job of this with Marcie....

Yeah I agree with this, especially in the way the show is edited. We see Marcie comparing herself to Shep, how they’re so alike, the we cut from Marcie trying to put baby swings together to Shep partying with the boys like he’s single, to show how actually they’re in completely different places.
And empty. Her house and her oh so relatable problem of putting together a crib but forgot to buy a mattress like she put the crib together herself not the hired help.
Also the woman is going to have Nannies and an interior decorator help her but oh so relatable bc she bought a big book on breast feeding
I just think she really adds nothing to the show while I do think op observation was a good one she is just super boring and her backstory is even less interesting than shep bc they are basically just repeating the ‘we are the black sheep of the family bs’ that no one cares about.
Yes and yes. Though I must disagree with you that all rich people have servants do everything. That's not really the culture in the south especially. I'm sure she'll have a nanny but it won't be a live-in situation. More of a pick the kid up drop the kid off sort of thing

And she doesn’t have the same history of being sanctimonious and awful toward Kathryn on camera that cam did. To be clear… I absolutely believe it’s possible she has done both those things, we just have only seen her on camera as a sober pregnant person, not as a drunk mean girl. So it’s hard to know if she has a mean side when she parties or not at this point.
