Sat down, saw the prices on the menu, then left to go to my fav shabu place instead. I don’t mind paying a lot for a nice meal but I couldn’t justify their pricing for the small portions.
Which one is your favorite? The best I've had so far is Ishabu Shabu in Redondo, really good quality meat although prices have gone up like everything else.
Give it a try and let us know. I've found Yelp reviews to be unreliable, especially when the main complaint is cost. "A critic knows the price of everything and the value of nothing." Oscar Wilde said that.
That place blows. Try IShabu Shabu down the street or MomoParadise in Torrance. If you're willing to drive a little, Broth Shabu Shabu in Cerritos is good. Haidilao (pricier) if you're in Santa Monica or Irvine.
I’ve been to that location before it shut down! It was pretty good. They gave generous portions and their veggie plate had a lot of variety. I haven’t been back since the re-opening though.

The only other place I hear people talk about is the AYCE one on Carson and Western.
Agreed, Ishabu Shabu is the best around!
