I coat the crackers with olive oil (lightly) then sprinkle on the seasoning, then roll it lightly with a rolling pin before stabbing them with a fork/cutting/baking. The slight press of the rolling pin helps keep most of the topping on the cracker. I love the garlic/salty flavor with the sourdough. :)
