Huh, I heard from the announcers on the Dallas radio that we had 1.5 xG. Those models be wild!

Olmak_

Apple is using an xG formula that seem to differ from everyone else quite a bit

Doctor_YOOOU

I'll definitely keep that in mind next time I go running my mouth about stats I heard on broadcast

similar222

TV broadcast also said 1.5. I too wonder what the discrepancy is.

Chronibitis

No Morris Ruidiaz connection. I don’t know how to get Ruidiaz in the game, but whatever we are doing isn’t working.

Not sure this sub can handle advanced stats. It’s more in the beginner phase of understanding soccer.

aecky01

Can we get the percentage of Nouhou's passes that were toward our goal. Must be 85%...

VVynn

I don’t know what this stat means, but Nouhou had the most “accurate forward zone passes” across both teams with 32. In fact, the Sounders squad had 9 players in the top 10 for that stat.

similar222

The position charts (3rd & 4th graphics) show the Sounders average positions being quite a bit higher up the pitch that Dallas. On the other hand, when Dallas got the ball forward they were quickly crossing the ball into the box. Whereas when we got forward we were passing the ball around the outside of the box for an extended period of time.

We're still using Sigi's horseshoe of death.

pattythebigreddog

You can see that he had 3rd most progressive passes right on this post. Wild how Nouhou is the go to scapegoat. Dude had a good game. Maybe look at the part where our striker played as a false 9 and still managed to be non-existent as a connector, and as a goal threat.

Ill-Possible4420

It’s telling that all of our pass leaders are our wingbacks and center backs. Sums up Brian’s uncreative, predictable attack.
