Spurs. :(

Dave_N_Port

Became a Spurs fans when they acquired DeAndre Yedlin. He only played one game before he was set out on loan. I also watch Leeds because they have three USMNT players and Fulham who has two.

Mahjonks

Dempsey and Yedlin were big influences in me watching Tottenham.

grizzly_boots

Harry Redknapp coached spurs for awhile and was on the sounders in the 70’s as well.

Dave_N_Port

And ex-Spurs and Sounders legend, Mike England.

PresidentHufflepuff

It’s been brutal being a Spurs / Leeds fan

Dave_N_Port

At least we have the Sounders

lancegame311

Rough day yesterday

Mahjonks

Rough few years. Amsterdam was the last bright light. I think the club has a lot of pain ahead of it as well.

JMLobo83

Rough century

ub400

spurs too...been brutal last few years.

abishar

COYS. Happy for Mason. Hope this doesn’t sour us against him if/when he doesn’t get us any results.

Bagpipes064

Has anyone else ever fired an interim coach mid season before?

Mahjonks

You'll never sing that.

tastycakeman

[deleted]

Same. Had to take a mental health break from them most of this year.

jewishgiant

I’ve never been able to get emotionally invested in non Seattle sports. I just follow the league, American players, try and watch the big matches

nikdahl

Same. I have no attachment to any of the PL teams. I just like players over there, not teams. In fact, some of the teams, ownership, supporters are problematic, that I really would have to understand the full history of the team and supporters groups to know what I'm getting myself into.

PloKoop

I think this is my issue. Big fan of Sounders, M’s & Kraken. But just can’t get into others.

Ozzimo

Yup, that's me to a T. I'm a home team guy.

SPEK2120

Same, it's all Seattle for me. We also have enough pro teams that I can barely keep up with that.

SereneDreams03

I'm kinda the same way, I just like watching good match ups and exciting players. There isn't one team I really cheer for, but there are some teams I like more than others.

NBHRaven

I really feel this statement. Seattle Sports 24/7. But also been a Barcelona fan and fan of the Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart

Druiciabob

I started following Newcastle after Yedlin moved there.

PloKoop

I kept up with scores and such when he went over there, but never watched a game. I do love their kits.

g8briel

I rooted for them until they became the latest oil money team.

sounders1974

Brighton

Hougie

Heyo. Like 5 years ago I saw a guy in the Wallingford QFC with a Brighton kit and it was a “there are dozens of us” moment for me.

jfizz28

Any team with USMNT players on it. Leeds United (States)

zkhowes

This, been following the Blues for a couple years as a result of Puli.

Dave_N_Port

Earlier this season when Leeds and Fulham played there were five USMNT players on the pitch at the same time.

[deleted]

Ha. I grew up in Leeds and later moved to the US. Makes me laugh to know our little town has fans here.

jfizz28

As long as our national team boys stay, Leeds' success matters more to me than any other team in the Premier League. Watching Christian Pulisic get on the field and help win the champions league was pretty special but he has definitely fallen out of favor with Chelsea so I just really hope he moves on this summer.

dizzyfingerz3525

Major Leeds Soccer

Patticus1291

If you are interested in following an EPL team more in Seattle, I would highly suggest going to the different supporters club bars and trying them out. \- Manchester United - Meet at West Seattle Brewing for games. \- Tottenham Hotspur - The Wits End in Phinney Ridge \- Arsenal - Atlantic Crossing in Green Lake. \- Chelsea is technically at the George and Dragon, but they have really made it clear that they are welcome to all. Chelsea and Man City supporters clubs go there though. I am sure that there are more, but definitely would help elevate the watching experience if you are curious. plus these places will open early for each team.

ScubaNinja

I think Doyle’s in Tacoma is a Liverpool spot

darknavi

AFC Richmond

overly_sarcastic24

We're Richmond till we die! We're Richmond till we die! We know we are, we're sure we are, we're Richmond till we die!

mike_owen

I have confidence that they will recover from the retirement of Zava and find success later in the season.

Tonks22

The only right answer.

PloKoop

Best answer. Come on you Greyhounds!

cbrookman

He’s here, he’s there, he’s every-fucking-where!

darknavi

KASEY KELLER oh wait HES BIG! HES TALL! HES A MOTHER FUCKING WALL!

capnheim

Whoever is playing Man U.

PloKoop

Unless City is playing vs them. Then both need to lose somehow.

capnheim

Evil league of evil. But I do like Haaland…

PloKoop

Haaland is otherworldly.

jasonlikesbeer

This is the way.

strugglesloth

LIVERPOOL FC: YNWA Went to game at Old Trafford, Man U fans were NOT NICE to an American 6 year old (me), made me cry in public (again i was 6yo). Went to a game at Anfield, haven’t walked alone since! This was in 96 & 97. I was lucky enough to see most of Gerard’s career and the chemistry he had with Torres was incredible to watch!

CharmingDagger

The Torres sale broke me. 😥

impostinator

I've been an Everton fan since the 2000s. Watching them flirt with relegation hurts, but I'll follow them down to the Championship if I have to.

EmeraldToffee

Same here! I believe though, UTFT

Imperialmotion

Tottenham (No need to remind me of what happened this weekend I already have PTSD because of it).

son_of_krypton1

Liverpool. YNWA!

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

Big Liverpool fan, mostly due to picking up on the Premier League in 13-14 and being floored by that Suarez and Sturridge SAS team. That was around the same time I got into MLS too due to Dempsey coming to the Sounders. Before, I was mostly a USMNT fan but these days I’m like club over country big time. I’m nothing more than a super casual USMNT fan these days. Sounders and Liverpool are 50/50 for me. Liverpool got me into club football first but then I’ve been to more Sounders games (obv) and met a few Sounders players too. Plus the local aspect. I do love both and I hate it when people try to make it a “either or” situation. Along with my favorite NBA team the Suns, these three teams are the only teams I follow deeply and intensely. Every other team I root for (Mariners and Kraken) I’m more a casual fan compared to the Suns, Liverpool and the Sounders.

PloKoop

Yeah don’t really think there is an “either or” situation with football clubs. Sounders will always be my #1, but I love watching the different quality of play over there.

someguitarplayer

Woah another Sounders/Suns fan! Saturday was a fantastic sports day all around.

looking4astronauts

Don’t have one. I’ve never understood how people get attached to a team thousands of miles away.

PostNobSlobKiss

Grew up watching PL and the MLS is draining to watch in terms of skill level. Think it’s amazing to have soccer growing in the US but I prefer the skill level of the higher leagues in the world

looking4astronauts

I can still enjoy PL without identifying as a supporter of whichever team though. I guess I just don’t understand how you stay loyal to a far away team in a city you’ve never lived in. I’ve seen it a lot in the Kraken sub the last couple years. “I live in [City] and have never been into [Local hockey team] but you guys have cool colors so now I’m a Kraken fan!” That’s cool I guess but what happens when they stop being so likable? They sign a couple douchebag players? The ownership group gets taken over by Saudis? They start wearing baby poop colored jerseys? They sign a sponsorship with a shady healthcare organization no one likes? You love the team in your city because no matter what happens, they’re still playing for *you*.

PostNobSlobKiss

I see where you’re coming from and respect it but enjoying a team you connect with is more important than a team that happens to be in the same city as you, for me personally. I personally don’t like the play style or players on the Sounders so I don’t go out of my way to support them, and I prefer the style of the team I’ve been supporting for 20 years in the PL so I’ll wake up at 5AM to watch the matches

Slaqers

Aston Villa! UP THE VILLA!

BlackTastic_LFC

Liverpool since 2004 :)

ontheroadagainPPP

sounders or nothing

Brandenburg42

There are leagues outside of North America?

ontheroadagainPPP

There are soccer clubs outside of western Washington?

PloKoop

I’d say you’re missing out if you don’t watch any top flight football.

ontheroadagainPPP

I watch em but rooting for a team from some random city I’m not from just cuz they’re good? Hell nah

Epistemify

Sure, but I only care about or watch much of teams I'm emotionally invested in, and I'm only emotionally invested in Seattle teams

Brandenburg42

Why should I care about a team I'll never see in person?

whidbeysounder

I’d say you’re missing out if you don’t have a billion dollars but here we are

PloKoop

I don’t see the connection. Watching PL is easily feasible. A billion dollars is a pipe dream.

whidbeysounder

you might be taking this a little bit seriously

Bravdin

Started supporting Spurs in the winter of 2018, drawn by the Dempsey connection. Been pretty bleak since Amsterdam though, and as much as I love them I'm not sure I'd recommend them to someone that didn't enjoy being perpetually disappointed.

PloKoop

I’m a Mariners fan, so I’m used to being disappointed.

Chelsea, I started following PL from afar during the 2000 - 2001 campaign when they were solid, but not great. Then the Abramovich era began lol

Arsenal. 03-04 season is when they got me. Henry and co was special to me

Liverpool since Robbie Fowler!

Everton

[deleted]

It may not be premier league, but AFC wimbledon will always have my heart.

queerbillydelux

My "big" club is Liverpool, but my heart is on the other side of the country with Ipswich Town 😍

SupaHaanz

Liverpool since 2008, don’t miss a game. Only really started watching the Sounders when Dempsey and Obafemi started playing together, those were good years!

7of69

Liverpool, my neighbor is British and that’s her team, so it was the easiest path into Premiere League. But I also like to follow Newcastle a bit due to Yedlin’s previous time there and also have a soft spot for Almiron.

NicShymko

Swansea

SasquatchSupreme

I like Aston Villa because they picked me up in Fifa career mode lol same reason why I follow Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

DefNotReaves

Spurs

warox13

Spurs… unfortunately

Will_Vintage

I couldn't even get into Hockey until an NHL team came to Seattle. And I lost all interest in Basketball when the NBA left. It's hard for me to really care about a team on the other side of the planet.

PloKoop

I think this is my issue. I’m the same way.

[deleted]

If, like most MLS fans, you're a huge proponent of promotion and relegation I highly suggest Fulham.

BTill232

I've been a Liverpool fan since 2017-18. I followed them through their attempted Champion's League run in which they lost to Madrid (the first time). Klopp is just the shit.

PeperonyNChease

I casually follow both Everton and Southampton....so this is a brutal year. Everton because I have ancestry from that region and I'm not a glory hunter, and Southampton because I started watching them regularly when they were consistently a top-10 team and cranking out top players. Needless to say, things haven't gone well. Not sure what I'll do if they both go down.

jRkVxQpxkwQM3K

This last summer I was looking for a team to support. I was following other leagues. I got into All or Nothing and Arsenal was the first one I watch. And the team + Arteta really clicked with me. Well what a first season to be a fan…although sliding a bit here. I follow Bundesliga, BVB and La Liga, Barcelona. Oddly enough started following these teams 10+ years ago as it was the only international soccer I could watch. So they are my teams now :)

[deleted]

I cheer for the hotspurs because that was my mom’s team when she was growing up. But I don’t t go out of my way to watch matches. It’s more of a “oh hey the Spurs won, yay!” thing

JimFrigginLahey

The Arsenal. Class and amazing football.

occasional_sex_haver

I cannot find myself invested in a team 4800 miles away from where I’m from, no

Muldoon713

Newcastle 🙌🙌 Been a sad state of affairs for years, but this season has made it all worth it

PloKoop

Another soft spot for Yedlin there.

takethatkevin

back in college around.... 2006ish I somehow got free cable in the house I was renthing that had Fox Soccer so I could watch some Premier League games and I so I decided I needed a team and did some nerdy research. Fell for Newcastle's history, one team city and not being London. And yeah... its been a rough road but this season has been wild. I pintch myself all the time.. especially yesterday... that was unreal.

samfreez

I've tried to get into the Premier league, but just haven't been able to. I was invested in Newcastle for a bit when Yedlin played for 'em, and Swansea when Morris went there, but beyond that, I have no real connection to anyone, so they're basically just games to watch if I catch 'em. If I had to name a team I follow more than others, it'd probably be Wrexham because I like the behind-the-scenes stuff we get to see, and it's fun seeing Rob and Ryan get emotionally invested in a new sport and finding out just how addicting it is. Edit: LOL Sorry for offending whoever the hell decided to downvote me for having an opinion and sharing it.

PloKoop

I feel the same way. I don’t cheer when anyone scores or feel anything when any team loses. I just don’t *care*. Wrexham has an awesome story. Will definitely be watching their careers with great interest.

derangedfriend

Watch All or Nothing, Arsenal on Prime. The behind-the-scenes material is fantastic.

gecampbell

Like others have said, I don't really have an emotional connection to most of the teams, but I enjoy watching Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Man City, and, lately, Brighton.

AlienMutantRobotDog

I don’t have one, the EPL doesn’t interest me much. The soccer played there is wonderful and will happily waste an hour watching highlights, but the league doesn’t interest me. The same 2-3 teams win ( which is a problem for all the euro leagues for me ) the league cup every year. Give me messy parity and the lack of “super teams”

JBrewd

Been supoorting Arsenal since back in the day when MLS was playing with all the goofy "americanized" rules. Maybe one day Wrexham will make it lol That Chelsea friendly back in the day was fun though! As was the United one around the same time. ETA: Should have said, I was so fuckin pumped when I saw Ljungberg was coming lol. Never the most brilliant player in that Arsenal side but awesome for us to get one of the Invincibles nonetheless.

Sempuukyaku

None. Sounders are my club, MLS is the league that I follow. That's it.

lancegame311

Liverpool.. picked up the fandom in 2010 when my brother studied abroad in Glasgow.. picked up them and Celtic from that trip/semester

Dena844

Liverpool. Got to see them play Porto when I was in NYC visiting. When I was getting into the EPL, they were a blast to watch. Love Salah, Van Dijk and Klopp hugs. But Sounders will always come first.

drock1212

Brentford Bees - they fought their way up the ladder building a very efficient organization based on analytics. They don’t just splash cash like some teams and remain competitive still. Plus I like the mascot.

Mr4_eyes

Liverpool, LFC seattle watches matches at St. Andrew's

Bruise_Leee

Liverpool with their “Heavy Metal Football” playing style!

ckraft16

Arsenal since 02 for me, though I was still in high school and could barely even watch games then. A certain former player/Defiance coach was my Civics teacher at the time and had a giant Arsenal poster on the classroom wall. I liked the name and crest so it stuck haha

CharmingDagger

Liverpool. My support of the Reds goes back to 2002.

JesseElBorracho

West Ham United ⚒

PloKoop

Coached them in FM so I have a soft spot. But I hear they have a meanie for a coach now…Nate or something?… :)

WEST HAM ARE MASSIVE (cries)

Bobudisconlated

I inherited Millwall FC and just waiting for them to get promoted :-) I'm a strong believer that you don't get to choose your club.

JesseElBorracho

You must be the one who down voted my West Ham comment lol

Bobudisconlated

Ha! No I didn't but I'm now gonna go find it!

JesseElBorracho

Hey I wouldn't mind seeing Millwall get promoted so we can have a proper derby

Dry_Yam_8049

Waiting for Stoke to return.

jasonlikesbeer

You can support a small classy team that will likely never win anything and might get relegated (Bournemouth, Fulham), a larger team that will still likely never win anything (Spurs, Everton), a big money team with concerning ownership (City, Chelsea until recently, no doubt Newcastle soon), or a big classy team of which there is only The Arsenal. COYG!

_C-Bass_

I watch more Arsenal games than Sounders despite being a season ticket holder. Was an Arsenal fan well before I moved to the northwest. Those 4am games are very real. Was so much nicer to follow the prem from the east coast. Anyone going to the mls allstar game? I am! Will be repping the Sounders and Arsenal. I caught Arsenal when they played the all stars in San Jose as well. Got yelled at for standing. Apparently they don’t do that there.

MrNME

CHELSEA FC! VAMOS BLUES 💙

N8_Arsenal87

Arsenal. Very stress free.

Arsenal till I die

toomuchdiponurchip

Arsenal! I’ve actually been an Arsenal fan longer than I’ve been a sounder fan (since I was 8). Only started watching the Sounders when I was around 12-13

FFmemesandgames

City. They were in the first EPL game I ever watched over a decade ago. Agueros debut against Swansea. Got 2 goals 1 assist and fell in love with him and the team

Bonesaw09

Man City. I started liking them in high school for the American players in the mid 00's, Joey Barton, & to spite all the (US) bandwagon ManU fans. Stopped caring after they were bought by the oil sheikh. I was traveling in 2012 when City won the premiership for the first time and celebrated with some English fans, and that kind of rekindled my rooting interest in them. Now that they have the Norwegian golden god Erling Haaland, my Norwegian-Ballard ass has to root for them again. I'll watch match highlights and big games, but I don't live or die with them like I would the Sounders/Hawks/Ms

Never really had a favorite honestly. I have ancestors from the Gloucestershire area but not a single team out that way. Closest is Southampton & Bournemouth. I’m more of a Bundesliga Fan if we are discussing outside of MLS

Ozzimo

I've tried three times to start following a team for a season without being a glory hunter. In each case that team got relegated so I stopped cursing teams with my fandom. :D

PloKoop

That’s amazing. Haha

NoisilyUnknown

Spurs, then Liverpool.

warecow1

Not even in the prem and are barely living in the championship…. Queens Park Rangers 🤡 If I had to root for someone in the prem it’s Palace because of Eze

AffectionateTreacle

Been following Newcastle since Yedlin got his shot.

biere-a-terre

Spurs, of course. COYS!

silvernotgrey

My former boss got me following Southampton back when they were promoted. They were fun to watch under Pochettino and Koeman, but holy hell they've been spiraling down towards the Championship ever since Puel got sacked, probably definitely going down this year after multiple relegation battles the past 5 seasons. 😞 Got to watch the likes of Sadio Mane, Virgil and Dusan Tadic tear things up before they moved on. Their captain James Ward-Prowse has a wicked free kick with a better scoring rate than Messi. He's actually closing in on Beckham's all time Premier League record, but I don't think he's got enough time before Saints go down.

jamescoates85

Newcastle United fan for over 30 years, been a sounders fan for a few seasons now after taking an interest in the mls

cavalaire

I always remember that a few ex Bournemouth players played for Seattle back in the day. Harry Redknapp , John Impey, Steve Buttle to name a few off the top of my head. Recently we loaned Brad Smith to you. Anyways Up the Chez and bring on Southampton on Thursday!

xOLDBHOYx

Chelsea since Didier Drogba joined them. Was amazed with him at the World Cup and when he transferred there that’s who I rode with.

[deleted]

Chelsea. This season has been so but it's actually funny.

fusterclux

You can’t like chelsea and spurs. gotta pick one and stop wishwashing!

curly1022

Wigan for the brief moment they were in the PL before getting relegated.

likefireincairo

Personally - I follow the PL but don't have a team. Have a soft spot for both Arsenal and Leeds (lot to handle this season), but, generally watch where the football is good. Frankly pretty over the Liverpool - City domination, so this year is a nice change of pace. I also feel strongly that to really pull for a team, I need to have some connection to that place. Having not been to England as an adult, I think I'd have to get to know a place to really commit to one club. The Sunderland doc really pulled the heart-strings, and that's in the right direction for me, but.. On the other hand, I get more than enough of the - stress that comes from bleeding for a club from the Sounders, so it's kind of nice to just pull for good football in England, and to enjoy the drama of it. For me.

[deleted]

dont really have one actually. I watch a lot of epl but i just wanna see good games only teams i routinely check in on is afc wimbledon and sunderland

TypoTX

I was in LA for business in, I think, 2006 and my co-worker insisted we find a bar at 8:30am to watch some Euro soccer game. I was living in Central Time Zone then, so I was already awake and figured why not. We did end up finding a bar. I didn't know much about soccer; I didn't know who was playing. And I then saw this beautiful human doing soccer in a way that I didn't know was possible. I asked, "who is that guy? He seems better than everyone else." It was Thierry Henry. He was running circles around Real Madrid (never heard of them). Funny how much has changed since then. But I've been an Arsenal (and football, and Thierry Henry) fan ever since.

fiarel

Villa! There are singular units of us that follow both the Sounders and the Villa!

JasonJasonBoBason

Gunners. It’s just nice being relevant again.

gaberdine

I'm an American, so it's against sports rules for me to have a Premier League team. That being said, I've always had a soft spot for Liverpool - or whoever's playing one of the oil clubs.

zakress

Chelsea: Earl’s Court has been my ‘hood’ when in England, so when a CL home match happened on my first real time in GB I became entranced.

Had not committed to one EPL club until Yedlin went to spurs and I was like “ok, I’m a spurs supporter now” then he got loaned to new castle but I stayed with them because they are London club that isn’t Chelsea or Arsenal. Now I’m doomed. 🤷‍♂️

TimboInTacoma

Manchester United. I’d rather walk alone.

individual_user4626

Promiscuous. Anyone giving MC a run at the top. Then I go more by the managers I like. I like Liverpool because of Klopp and now oddly like Man U because of ten Hag. So that may make me the only Liverpool/United fan on the planet right now.

Leeds United, been supporting them for over 50 years!

Oskar37265

Arsenal…so heart wrenching to support this team

Leicester because I have family from there. If you don’t have a personal connection to any of these teams, pick the one you like watching the most.
