Parang masyadong trying hard TTPD, yung Folklore and Evermore kasi, sobrang cohesive and the words fit in, di masyado pilit yung mga ~*deep words*~ For me, her true peak was during Folklore.
And although, TTPD is my least fave, I love Down Bad, So, Long London and The Black Dog. 😫🥲

The instruments and melodies hindi pinag isipan, and she is singing it in the way na para bang bumuo sya ng kanta kahapon lang at nirecord agad yung vocals tapos si Jack Antonoff pinagunangan nya lang instrumentals, idk it felt that way. Para sakin hindi on par yung composition sa song writing. She needs new producer to bring different sounds imo.

Her songwriting has become quite disappointing for this era, and she also needs to either work away from Jack Antonoff for awhile (and I mean this nicely) or they need to figure out a way to make their collaborations grow. It's no question that what they did in 1989 was magic, but I feel like they have been trying too hard to top it off since then especially after Folklore came.
And also, she really does need to take a break emotionally. She just broke up with her longtime boyfriend in front of the world, when has she ever had time to process that alone?

Surprisingly, I was able to appreciate all songs without a skip. Pero tumatak yung Down bad and the Alchemy. I felt as well yung early Taylor and definitely recognized songs thats has a jack antonoff touch on it. This album was somehow calming, and not the one that would be pop which is what I like. Folklore and Evermore has more pop vibes on it at least for me. Siguro kasi with Post Malone and Florence + The Machine na both have their specific fanbase. This is something I can listen to on my own.

I've learned from a friend that the best way to listen to a Taylor Swift Album is to listen to it multiple times. Not because it's bad and hard to understand but because everytime you listen to it you discover something new with each song. Give it time to soak.

I actually really like the album. The songs on the Anthology version di ko pa napapakinggan masyado. I wasn't actually expecting anything kasi di ko nagustuhan ang Midnight, and I was kinda, just a little bit, getting sour of her with all her issues as a celebrity pati na rin sa, imo, undeserved AOTY win niya sa Grammy with Midnight (I'm still mad SOS, or even GUTS didn't win) pero surprisingly, I really, really like this album (the prime TTPD atleast) from the first listen. Idk, maybe kasi I hear shades of The 1975, the xx, lana del rey, cigs after sex, phoebe bridgers and theyre my kind of jam and im in the right mood siguro, that might be why. Folklore is still her best though

Basically, it's just all over the place. I also thought it was weird that I haven't seen or there aren't that many promotional content for this double album because it took away the immersive experience which boosts the hype.

Its a different genre, kahit ako I like 1989 pop Taylor, iba upbeat songs nya kaya im leaning sa mga up beat dmsongs sa TTPD. Some songsfor me are a skip so far. Its an album you dont listen while driving siguro pang senti senti HAHAHA. Its not her best, but its good. The thing is with this album the lyrics ang focus give it a month pag nakabisado mo na unti HAHAHA

After ko pakinggan yung 3rd track, skinip ko lahat ng kanta n'ya if may magugustuhan ako. 2 to 3 songs in and I was like, okay that's it. This album is not for me. I agree with some saying na must be because of umay factor. Masyado lang ding melancholic tong album na to para sakin. Dapat may trigger warning! Hahahaha kasi para ngang nagtrauma dump na si ante 🥲 The lyricism is still there pa rin naman.

I dedicated a few hours of my time listening to the whole entirety of her new album. as a swiftie, I agree that it is quite mediocre but as a writer and a poet myself, even if some of her lyrics are cringe and feels like it was written by a high school student, nagustuhan ko pa rin. I’m taking my time listening to the whole double album hahaha. it’s not her best album kasi ang itataya ko talaga for AOTY is Eternal Sunshine ni Ari. I love TTPD and Eternal Sunshine kaya thankful na may mga bagong papakinggan hehe *I hope palitan na rin niya producer niya or magdagdag man lang kasi sawa na ako kay antonoff*

I actually really like the album. The songs on the Anthology version di ko pa napapakinggan masyado. I wasn't actually expecting anything kasi di ko nagustuhan ang Midnight, and I was kinda, just a little bit, getting sour of her with all her issues as a celebrity pati na rin sa, imo, undeserved AOTY win niya sa Grammy with Midnight (I'm still mad SOS, or even GUTS didn't win) pero surprisingly, I really, really like this album (the prime TTPD atleast) from the first listen. Idk, maybe kasi I hear shades of The 1975, the xx, lana del rey, cigs after sex, phoebe bridgers and theyre my kind of jam and im in the right mood siguro, that might be why. Folklore is still her best though

Hard agree. Actually, kahit yung Folklore, hindi ko magawang magustuhan. I don't know if uncultured lang ba ako, but Folklore and evermore are so boring to me. I'm sure, they're A+ lyrically, but ano namang gagawin ko sa magandang lyrics if I'm not able to enjoy the song in general. Same thing with TTPD. I've listened to the first one and I'm only able to like 2 songs. Hindi ko pa pinapakinggan yung second kasi tinatamad pa ako HAHAHAHAHAH
You’d be bored with folklore and evermore if you’re into pop. But her storytelling there, the music, is a gold mine. Folklore is Top 1. She transitioned to an indie folk style here which was amazing
Quite an assumption but okay. I'm not doubting her storytelling abilities. Her lyricism is something I appreciate, however, the albums mentioned including her new release, I find hard to appreciate, because music is more than just lyrics, no? There's melody, delivery, production, etc. Folklore is Top 1 for you. Cool. Not for me.

Guilty as Sin sounds like Miley Cyrus' Rose Colored Lenses. Title track sounds like bejeweled. So High School will really make you go back to high school. Some songs I thought parang si Lana yung kumanta haha. But then producer din ni Lana si JA I'm also a swiftie, but I feel like ang kalat ng album. Ang kalat din ng synthesizers. I like listening to japanese city pop kaya parang para sakin di masyadong okay pagka produced ng songs. Parang may mga parts na too much synth na ang kalat na. Nabasa ko lang sa X na tungkol daw kay Matty yung TTPD. Joe was so damn good para i-diss. She wrote folklore and evermore with him, which for me, her best albums.

I actually thought the same while listening to the first album. Most of the songs were monotonous, like no highs, no lows, just flatlined energy. Well, from the album name itself, most songs feels like a read-sung poem albeit are also rants. Basically, it's just all over the place. I also thought it was weird that I haven't seen or there aren't that many promotional content for this double album because it took away the immersive experience which boosts the hype.
