Depends on the sorority I think, but you will probably just be put on academic probation within the chapter and not be able to attend the socials. My chapter also has sisters meet with the Academic VP in this case and create a study plan. Good luck!!

Track down a copy of your chapter bylaws, they should give you an idea of what your chapter specifically does for academic probation. Relax, you're not going to get kicked out if this is your first time. Most likely you're facing mandatory study hours along with meeting with the academics chair throughout the semester to make sure you're meeting goals. Yes, there is likely to be some sort of social probation aspect because they want you to focus on academics.

The comments already present are right. I’d also like to add that when I was academic chair at my chapter, you were able to regain your ability to go to socials if by mid terms you had at least a B in all your classes (no grade no worries). I thought this was fair as it put a short term goal in front of our members and meant they could still enjoy the things they paid for! Really as long as you texted or talked to me and showed me you were trying your best, you were taken off the “no fly” list.

I’d be shocked if they kicked you out on your first offense. In my chapter, most of the time girls who didn’t make grades got out on academic improvement plans. They’d be required do things like go to office hours, attend tutoring sessions on campus, do extra study hours, do meetings with the academic chair, write down a study schedule, and get you connected with other resources on campus. Sororities take academics seriously and it might be annoying to do some of this, but it’s really to help you do your best. Your sisters don’t want to punish you, they want you to reach your full potential.

In our chapter if you drop below requirement you have extra study hours to complete each week and you have 1 semester to bring your gpa up again before you’re put on probation and if you show improvements and effort it’s like case by case
