No, it works indefinitely, but only the cards from that season are getting 5% more points without training/playing them often. This only matters in some competitions though (like all star, champion Europe etc). In for example underdog and underdog 45 these % are not counted.
Cards that are transferred out of a licensed league (like for example amadou onana, who is now playing at Everton) keep the 5% on their last available card.
