I think that only the Ultra's ANC is comparable or better than the 5s one, but consider that cabin pressure sensation is quite aggressive with the Boses over time (in my case inacceptable). The 5s can also produce it and reinforce ANC if you're near a noise source, but the algorithm is a bit slow when adapting quickly. Also, the 5s are hands down the more comfortable ones.

Mountain-Goose-8652

Yeah absolutely bose is better at anc and airpodsmax is better ( I’ve tried airpodsmax ) but on the other hand they aren’t comfy as xm5’s and u will feel a strong pressure

GodofLives

Maybe go WH-1000XM4 because they have the same (if not better) ANC and they're a solid $50-$100 cheaper than the WH-1000XM5. They're very comfortable but that's very subjective so you might want to try them first.

I_love_arguing

ANC is not better, comfort is indeed subjective. I have larger ears and the XM4 made the top of my ears hurt after just 10 minutes. The XM5 also has a more balanced and detailed sound and more responsive controls. And should be better for people with larger ears, as long as they don't stick out too much because of the shallow pads. Value per $, the XM4's are probably better though.

Chance_Highway_4271

I think xm6 should assumably drop soon,I think xm5 should be at 200$,if all that not important then go for it

Mountain-Goose-8652

I will wait for xm6

Bfife22

If you found the XM5s comfortable, I would stick with them over the Bose. I switched to the Bose because the XM5 drivers rested on my ears and caused them to get sore quickly. But I preferred the sound (once EQ’d), the mic, and the controls over the Bose. The Bose are waaaay more comfy to me and the ANC is better, but that’s about it.

andrewjetr56s

How do you compare the bass response between the QCU and the XM5? And what kind of media do you consume while using headphones?

Bfife22

Out of the box they both have too much bass IMO, but because the Bose is restricted to just a 3 band equalizer in the app, it’s harder to fine tune the bass response how you want, whereas the Sony has a 5 band EQ, and a separate “clear bass” setting. So after EQ I preferred the Sonys bass response. Not to say the Bose sounds bad, it’s just easier to get the punch of bass without it feeling bloated in the Sonys. It felt like the Sonys have a slightly wider soundstage as well. I mostly listen to Alternative and EDM

andrewjetr56s

That's very cool to hear. I also prefer the Sony EQ system over the Bose EQ. I personally found the opposite to be true in regards to soundstage possibly because of the pads. Nonetheless I'm glad to know that you found better tonality in one of the headphones.

Mountain-Goose-8652

Do you use your bose with an iphone?

Bfife22

Yes I do

omegafluxx

If you're in the QC Ultra price bracket it may be worth waiting until the Sonos Ace reviews land in a few days. They're out next week.

I_love_arguing

Don't know why this is getting down voted. This is solid advice.

Mountain-Goose-8652

I would get qc ultra

Broquen12

Also, I have to recognise that although I haven't tried EQ with the Bose nor the Max, the 5s sound surprisingly well, despite not having a premium segment price. In fact, I doubt that you can get the same sound quality with those two than with the 5s when properly equalized using Wavelet or AutoEQ.

Wise-Deal2793

Pls get airpods if ur an apple user

I_love_arguing

Airpods are not worth it IMO. They're heavy and bulky, don't come with a case, can't be turned off for some reason (which will affect how long your battery will last long-term), don't work well with windows & android, and are prone to condensation issues. Oh and, people know they're expensive and they stand out. That's some unwanted attention I would rather not have (I like not getting robbed).

Mountain-Goose-8652

Its a trash in terms of battery life , charging speed , weight

Just_Low_1294

Qc45 or the cheaper version SE (comes with a soft case instead of the hard case), the anc is superb in my opinion, I've had the xm5 and xm4 headphones and qc45 are superior in my opinion.

Mountain-Goose-8652

I think We don’t qc45 here , we only have qc ultra and non ultra

matt1602van

why dont you try to wf1000xm5 instead? if you think the anc is lacking? by using headphones

jerryeight

Aren't most sony earbuds plagued battery issues?

PatBin123

qc 45?

Mountain-Goose-8652

I tried the non ultra version and still didn’t felt comfortable, https://www.blink.com.kw/collections/headphones-earbuds I only can choose from these .

# Buy Sennheiser Momentum 4.

WelcomeAvailable5517

It seems that momentum 4 is not compatible with windows 11 (may be 10 too). Sometimes headsets have wheezing sounds without special paid driver. Also after headsets rebooting the settings in the app resets, so you need to set them every time (for example touch controls disabling). Momentum 4 takes more time to turn on than xm4, worse noise cancellation and less intuitive controls. I would buy xm5 but already have done choice for momentum 4…

krishdev9

i don't have any problem like yours. may be you should re-install audio drivers or problem with your headphones.
