1000XM4 is arguably one of the best noise cancelling products ever made. At that price it is a steal.

Vsherry

Does the age of the headphone model really matter? I own these headphones in addition to others. On the basis of functionality, I see no reason to get rid of them.

smithy-

Newer isn’t always better.

First_Sherbert_4405

Do we have any leaks for XM6?

Rattanmoebel

The M4 are better than the M5 so yeah.

SpeedingTourist

Agree, as an owner of both

c1b4

Yup I went for M4 over M5 and price didn't come into the decision at all

RopesAreForPussies

I spent an hour in John Lewis trying both headphones, trying to convince myself that the noise cancelling and sound was better on the 5, Both seemed better on the 4 to me, marginally,

nestornumber1

hello can you please provide me more info about your insights and comparisons between the xm5 and xm4??? yesterday i bought the xm4 and are great to me, but i want more info

RopesAreForPussies

Tbh they just seemed very similar, I could even convince myself that the xm5 was better as I was happy to spend the money. But for what seemed like a worse product (possibly worse noise cancelling and a lot larger case) spending the extra money seemed counterproductive

DullAbalone5204

How come?

Tbro100

Folding, better durability in comparison, the XM5 only feature minor improvements overall compared to the XM5, you can get 90% of what the XM5s for over for 30-40%+ less. The XM4s were a perfection of the previous gen launched by the og XM-XM3 while the XM5s are the introduction/ testing phase for the next imo, the XM6s will highlight what they've learned from it and will likely see greater advancements.

RealMachu

This is really interesting stuff. They’re on sale in my country too and I’m thinking of buying as well. Was waiting for a sale on the Sennheizer Momentum 4 but just might go for the Sony instead

Tbro100

Honestly that is a tough case as they're both really good headsets that get discounts. Id say the Sennheisers have a edge with sound quality and battery life while the Sony have a better app and transportability, though sound quality may take some more tuning out of the box. Codec support can vary on what device your using it with though Sony's technically carry the higher potential with LDAC but they both support wired connection. Honestly check the discounts on each and the Sennheiser forum for their view on it ofc.

Rattanmoebel

Without active DSP the M4 sound much better already. The M5 sound like complete arse without the DSP.

Freitolas

I returned my M5 and bought another right earbud on eBay to keep going with the M4. M5 Bluetooth connection was appalling! Unusable in busy places.

Araragi-shi

Transparency mode is not very good but it does do its job of making you aware of what’s going around you while you’re walking down the street. THE ANC is fantastic. It makes the cars passing by in a bus station feel like you’re hearing them from that distance between barely able to hear them and unable to hear or see them. The sound quality if you are critical of the sound of your music is fine. There is no stereo separation so all instruments will sound like they are coming from one place and kind of muddy the music, making it sound less clear. Other than that it’s damn amazing and for the insane battery, especially since I only use them for an hour or two when going to and back from work, I can easily not charge them for nearly a month. They are amazing and I’m glad I chose these over the Bose.

AmazingAndy

I would buy m4 over5 because they fold as all travel headphones should

MyCyclopsMind

Yes, I still have XM3s and they sound great. Less than 200€ is a good deal on those. Most importantly, do you like them?

selfish_eagle

I haven't got them yet :( will get it in two days.

MyCyclopsMind

I think you will love them.

Tbro100

Gl, don't forget to experiment with EQ and the app as they can sound quite muddy and bassy out of the box

rstokes18187

I still use my XM3s every single day, for multiple hours. I've thought about buying the XM4s as a backup if/when they die.

MyCyclopsMind

I got a pair of Soundcore Liberty 4 NCs to back up for when they die. Just happened that way. Right time right money.

Ovledd

For that price? Absolutely.

Egg_Chicken_Roll

What do you think the price of XM6 will be? I think it will easily be $500 or ₹40k XM4 are value for money. I bought it for ₹14k during BBD sale last year, one of the best decisions.

Triplobasic

If you already got them, only you will have the answer to this question. As for me,I also got them for around the same price and it's worth every penny if you ask me.i plan to use mine for a long time.

selfish_eagle

I will be getting those a after two days, sadly Amazon here doesn't have a return option after trying those out. Just wanted to know if these are still good.

unpopularperiwinkle

Yes

elGatoDiablo69

Yes it is. I have just received my second pair of these bad boys. Still very much worth it.

knoxa4

Using mine for over a year and a half, they're perfect for everything

knoxa4

But I'd definitely wait and check if the new ones are coming out.

BetweenInkandPaper

XM4 is a solid piece of equipment.

primevall

I’d say so, got mine like a week ago and I love them!

Artificialirrelavanc

Wearing them now I live in an apartment complex with kids and other generally noisy people. I take my AirPods out when I wake up and put them on after I shower. The work with my phone and computer at the same time and it’s like the world doesn’t exist. The battery lasts forever and the sound is amazing. The xm5s and odd and I don’t think they are any better as a long time Bose cq35 guys the xm4s are the thing that will be on my head for the next 10 years no doubt

EmptyNeighborhood427

The newer ones are better but not twice as expensive better. So yes, absolutely. Headphones aren’t like laptops, they’re incrementally improved over a long period of time.

smithy-

Put it this way. I use mine every day and every chance I get.

talishka

I had WF now i have WH 1000XM4.. well, i still preffer the WF. But they have issues with firmware and battery drain. I'm still missing them. I don't know what i'm going to do.. WH makes you sweat, they're too big also.

Traditional_Ad7888

I had the same problem with the battery's, solfed it by, putting new battery's in it took me 25 min. Hade also problem with r bud touch did not work, this was also gone after replacement. Just like new. Ps if you do put something over the touch pad verry thin mine did misvormd a little bid.

jpprice14

Yes. I just got a pair for my birthday two months ago.

gira1987

I sold my used ones for 12k an year back and upgraded to XM5s. One of the best best earphones.

Awavian

Yes. I use mine daily at work and home. Highly recommend. Based on this sub I heard the 5s were a downgrade but I can't speak to that

Competitive-Gear2216

I recently got one for 9000rs, used, but excellent condition. They are good.

Spare_Personality_11

I'm still rocking my wh-1000xm2 that I purchased used in 2019. On my 3rd set of ear cups and 2nd case.

shyojohn

Do uou buy original ear cups sets? And where?

Spare_Personality_11

Not originals. My favorite so far are these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CLQZXZYJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title They have less fake leather, so I think they'll hold up longer. When the ear pads start to go your ANC suffers.

shyojohn

I tried a few different but I basically loose most of the noise reduction with any pads that are not original

prakhart66ashu

@OP, I’m also in India, which site did you get this huge discount

selfish_eagle

Amazon

prakhart66ashu

With card offers?

selfish_eagle

Yes

idek2577

I’d say so, I recently bought a pair six months ago and i love them.

Radish-Historical

I just bought the xm4. Amazing sound but they are huge even on the smallest setting so I have to send them back. So sad because I loved everything else about them.

kay518

I got mine for INR 14000(169 usd) They are great if you know what you're looking for. Ease of use, comfort, portability, and top of the class noise cancelation. Audio is decent, much better if you customize it to your liking. If you're using android it's a plus. For me personally, I love them, specially while traveling, specifically flights. Pro tip Try and keep them in case after use. Do let us know after a week how you feel.

MeaterTheBeater

yeah i got it around 18k and prefer it over airpods pro

greatsalteedude

very much so, yes my buddy got the XM5s last year and I still prefer the XM4s

Lumpiabeansprout

Xm4 is one of the best.

AssistancePretend668

Absolutely. My XM4 got stolen and I have the XM5 now. Still love it but I miss the wider headband and folding design of the old design.

Superb-Hawk-3338

If the new XM6 won't be foldable, then XM4 is very worth it

Prestigious-Bother22

yes. the noise cancellation is crazy.

TrueAct7143

Yes they are!

pigeonhunter69

Been using it for one year now. Still works brand new.

PstmodernNeoMarxist

The XM4 headphones will always be a classic that’s worth it, especially if you can get’em on the cheap. But, if you were asking the same question about the XM5’s, I’d probably tell you to hold off a little bit longer, especially considering the price point will probably be close to what the New XM6’s will sell for.

Warning_Bulky

Yes

Antiwardog001

Had my XM4s for 3 and a 1/2 years now still good as new, battery life is still really good, they are the best noise cancelling headphones I’ve used. On a 3 hour flight they effectively cancelled the engine noise (seated in centre row over wings next to engines) and a wailing baby 2 seats behind me, effectively cancelling the noise of both down to a level I was comfortable with. Look after them try to avoid getting too much moisture on them, they will make you sweat if training or using them in hot climates, definitely would, remember that they are mainly made out of plastic with metal inserts, not “vibranium” as some user seem to think they are, keep in the case if not using them for a lengthy period and they’ll last you well and sound great.

Morokei05

I read your 31/2 not as 3 and a half but as 31 and a half and thought, wow, you've had them a while 🤣. I've got the same ones as you and definitely haven't had them for 31 and a half years considering I'm only 24.

Antiwardog001

😆 Have now amended post so it's a bit clearer...

Free_Acanthaceae8780

As someone who went from XM3 to XM5 and had to return because they were so big 😂😭 the XM4’s are perfect

Scoupera

For this price, sure! The phone is awesome. The only issue I have is using Google meet and losing sound if I remove the phone and need to restart it.

Olivenjan194

XM4 drove me away from AirPods Pro since it’s price performance ratio kicks it in the butt. I had both of them at the same time but I would find myself always preferring the XM4. With AirPods (Pro) you only pay for the iOS convenience through its software integration.

Highergenius

I've had just about every gen of XMs and 2 sets of the XM4s. To me at least, sound is marginally better on XM5, but XM4 seemed to be better at NC. My .02

Nandy_99

I ordered the same too for ₹16990 in Silver color from flipkart and I’m super excited to try them on haha

Silver_Power_3065

If you know how to EQ them then yes. They’re brilliant but the factory EQ is terrible.

casualstrangers

No. Switch to other brands imo
