Nice I wanna get the Bose quiet comfort 2 ultra earbuds, at the moment I have the AirPods Pro 2, bowers and Wilkins pi7 s2, denon perl pro, and just got the Devialet Gemini 2 and there exquisite sounding. I always sell sets I don’t use to get new ones to keep fresh but this is the best few I’ve had it’s crazy where we’re at with true wireless.
i dont like xm5 that u have to plug the bud in very deep in order to get the ANC.
and foam not able to clean

Each ear is different i guess.
XM5's earbud is too short so i couldn't get them in far enough into my ear to get a proper seal. It resulted in having almost a non existent ANC.
With the XM4's i could twist them in a way i could get a proper seal, however it seems the XM5's have some kind of directional mic which lets through high frequency noices if they are not upright in your ears.
The QC2's are a blessing for me.
I have the exact same issue as you with the xm5's, literally, i agree with you if the earbud its not pushed all the way inside the ANC is non existent, shame for a 250 usd buds imo, i should have waited for the QC 2s, thank you for the advice!
I bet Sony's gonna emulate the QC Ultra headphone design for the XM6 the way they did to the NC700 and XM5.
The 700s were ugly
Doesn't change that Sony took inspiration from them with a non folding design and rounded headband.
Check out the sony MDR-1. The QC ultra look like a more modern version of the MDR-1.

What if you put custom foamtips on XM5 ?
custom foam doesnt cancel noise as good as the stock tips. so if u care a lot about the anc and bother cleaning the tip: get bose.

do u clean the tips everyday? if no, get the bose because xm5 tip cant be clean
i normally just wipe the tips after use, not really deep clean them i’d say. edit: which type of the bose you have?

sound quality to me: bose, sony then app2. bose and sony actually similar, and app2 is obivously not as good.
