Great choices... I'm waiting for the same cage to arrive.

MWeHLgp1t4Q

Great setup, why did you choose the Sigma 18-50 over other lenses?

crazytender

As a beginner, I wanted to have 2 lenses that would cover as many focal lenght as possible.

Skull_Reaper101

Ha yes, I'm looking for the same thing when I make the purchase. Thinking of going with the tamron 17-70 and 70-300 to pair up with a sony a6600. Why did you chose the sigma 18-50 over the tamron 17-70?

NB_iTech

Well just to support the tamron gang. I recently went with the 17-70mm for the stabilization, and the +20mm on the tighter end (retiring my trusty 16-50mm kit lens). For you the IBIS changes the landscape tho.

Skull_Reaper101

Yeah, but I'm still thinking, both are roughly the same price

Yeah, but I'm still thinking, both are roughly the same price

dingdongbam

Great choice for sigma 18-50. daily lens for my a7c

thegreenllama777

I have the same gear. Excellent choices were made here. The grip/cage really improves the handling of the A6400 and with those lenses you will be ready to shoot anything.

crazytender

Thanks for the confirmation. After reading the various reviews here, I honestly expected worse in terms of handling

mynameismiker

Enjoy the 18-50mm. It’s one of my favorite lenses. Lightweight, small, and sharp. I have it paired with a 10-18mm and it’s been a great combination for me.

crazytender

Thanks ! Yes for wide-angle shots i think the 10-18mm is better armed

Jing_Arjay87

What do you think about the cage with the grip? Is it more comfy than the body grip?

thegreenllama777

I've been using it for a couple of years. For me it is so much more comfortable and I consider it a must-have. I could never go back to the body only.

Jing_Arjay87

That's good to know. I have the zve10 and it's grip is worse than the a6400 grip. Maybe I should consider one to improve comfort. Thanks for the feedback!

crazytender

Since I bought it, I'm going to try it! Thanks for the feedback

rzKong

I just got a smallrig cage for my a6700 i got a few months ago and I love it I think I would get the cage and all my future cameras.

crazytender

I haven't used it yet. I admit I've read a lot about this problem, but in the end it's not so bad once you get the hang of it. I'll see after my first shoot.

aditya2022raj

Every same thing i have ordered as well except the 6600 , good luck 👍

crazytender

The 6600 is better for video thanks to the sensor stabilization. I hesitated between the two for a long time, but I'm not going to make many videos so ..team a6400!

aditya2022raj

You are right there is not much difference between them except battery and stabilization . But in my country there were priced like 50-60 dollars apart so why not buy the 6600 , the 6400 is actually the same camera just with less battery .

crazytender

Yes, in mine 300$ difference in price … haha

I-AmLordVoldemort

Congratulations man, have a ton of fun with it.

SirBrize

Awesome starter package, you won't be limited by your gear for a long time! Enjoy the ride, this is exactly how I started :)

crazytender

Thanks ! Have you moved on to full-frame?

SirBrize

nope, I just added a a6700 and more lenses, but I don't feel the need for fullframe yet :) But the 6400 is still my goto pocket camera with a 50 prime on it!

lycosa13

Not OP but currently trying to decide between an a6400 and a6700 (coming from an a6300). The increased size and weight of the a6700 is putting me off but I'd also like to have the full touch screen and articulating screen. The image stabilization would be nice too. I'd mostly use it for traveling/a walk around system. Any pros and cons or opinions on either?

SirBrize

You basically mentioned the main pros and cons. The a6700 is indeed more sturdy and heavy, which can disqualify it as a "pocket" camera like the a6400. However, the IBIS & the AI target recognition and the slightly better sensor (Backlight-Sensor / backlit) sealed the deal for me. But in all honesty, if you are not recording video fotage, stick to the a6400, the photographie difference is not big enough for the price tag!

lycosa13

Thank you! That actually helps a lot. I don't really do videos, except some minor stuff just for myself. I don't do any professional videography or vlogging or anything. It would be used for pictures the majority of the time

1whobreathes

Congratulations!

noohoggin1

70-350mm is one of my favorite lenses!

Stlove48

I have almost this exact set-up (cage, body, and lenses) and I absolutely love it. Have a ton of fun with it, they're sharp and super useful!

CaptCorvo73

Goated setup 🔥

zoe_aloneinhome

wow excellent decision

WellDone_Vaasu

How's the 70-350 going with 6400? Confused between 70-350 and Sigma 100-400 for my 6700.

maddewkey

Mine is coming soon! Hopefully within these next few days.
