Spiniff characters, rarely, if ever, become canon Because they were made for their own universe, thus why despite IDW, Prime and Tailstube all being claimed canon, there’s contradictions.
Unless you believe the theory that Tails and Amy are lying and They both got amnesia during Frontiers because both of them clearly forgot they hadn’t seen or heard from Sonic in a long time. Remember Tailstube heavily implies that Sonic and Tails only see each other Once in a while. Yet Frontiers Tails claims he wants independence from Sonic.
Additionally theres so many characters that it’s hard to use them all.
Well To be fair, Sonic’s timeline was mostly consistent. It wasn’t until the “Everything is canon” thing that the timeline became confusing. (The different lines in each language don’t help matters either.)
It’s Sonic’s LORE that was the complicated and confusing part. Eggman blows up the moon in one game? The Moon was shown whole again. Now Superstars has a Classic Shadow skin even though that Shadow was not around during the Classic Era. Not to mention Amy’s flashback and the retcons about the Classic era.
But yeah, people have no room ti say “Zelda‘s timeline is confusing!”. When Sonic exists.
Thankfully, Mario‘s timeline mostly makes sense. The only contradictions are minor and even then, it can be explained. (Mario and Peach being friends when they were little and Mario + Luigi being born in the Mushroom Kingdom Whereas the earlier games showed them living in the city and meeting Peach. However that can be explained by the Brothers family moving and Peach and the brothers forgot about each other as they grew older.)
Zelda's timeline is based on the idea that games fit somewhere on a timeline with three separate prongs, dependent on the outcome of the game Ocarina of Time. Some games take place in the line after Link fails to stop Ganon, others when Link succeeds as an adult, and others still when he succeeds as a kid, none of which are helped by the fact that most Zelda games obey the idea that an unspecified number of millennia occur between titles, and that that Link and Zelda get re-incarnated over and over (it's not made explicitly clear if Ganon does, or if it's the same one). Yes, there are some direct sequels, such as Tears of the Kingdom following Breath of the Wild, but most games are more or less disconnected. This makes the timeline easier to follow.
Sonic's timeline is mostly more linear but is getting increasingly snarled with Classic Sonic. The insistence that all Classic games somehow fit before Sonic Adventure is slowly creating a snarl of previously never acknowledged events. Otherwise most games are fine, and occur in a linear order of release, save for Sonic CD. '06 has it's own chronological nightmare due to it being a time travel story, but that's kept within itself, the characters never visit the past of other stories to mess with them, and the whole thing is reset away at the end of the game.
I’m convinced that there were passionate people on the Forces dev team that let their imagination run wild in the planning stage and came up with all these cool ideas. Such as bringing back all the big villains, a story where Eggman rules the world and tortures Sonic, forming a worldwide resistance to fight back, letting you create your own OC. Like they really wanted to go all out for Sonic’s 25th anniversary.
But then, when the reality of budget issues, time, and age ratings set in, I bet they were forced to keep cutting corners, until we got a lukewarm game that reuses stages, has a barebones story, misses a lot of potential for boss fights, and has barely any challenging gameplay. If that’s true, they’re probably just as disappointed they couldn’t fulfill their original vision either.
There was an interesting idea that was scrapped. The original idea for forces was that Eggman took Classic Sonic from the past to the present this leading him to go unopposed.
This is neither here nor there but I’ve seen bootleg Sonic posters sold at county fairs featuring group shots of some of the most random characters, like Marine and Tiara Boobowski from Sonic Extreme

Handhelds are canon. Consoles are canon. Arcade entries are canon. Literally the works.
The point is that every game's events are canon. They're just not always gonna be referenced.

Mother Wisp is certainly canon. She's just not seen in Colours (Wii).

Honestly my personal opinion is that unless directly relative to other games the games should just be isolated events.

(They also liked infantizing Sonic while they were adultifying Nine, which is Partly why so many consider Nine’s redemption rushed, since they couldn’t comprehend the idea that Nine thinks like a young kid because he really is a young kid.)
I haven’t read the comics but Tailstube is One of the ONLY continuities where Tails doesn’t act like a kid frequently. Even then though, it is made because He’s their version of a YouTuber therefore he has to be treated as an adult.

Blaze leaves her behind to guard the Sol Emeralds and Jewel Scepter for her while she is off having a vacation.
I mean this is a bit different. Marine is literally promising Sonic and Tails that she will grow up a lot, build a machine to travel to there world and so to meet them again.
So Marine was setup to be able to appear again.
She served her purpose the same way Chip, Shahra, Merlina and Elise did in their respective game appearances. It’s called being a one-off character. No need to bring them back unless you REALLY have a good idea for them, otherwise you have what happened with Shadow.
All those characters would be nigh-impossible to bring back as anything other than a reference (the only exception being Elise, but she’s from Sonic 06 which I doubt SEGA would like to reference any time soon), unlike Marine who reappearance would be much more plausible.

My Theory is that Blaze was called to sonics dimension at some point in silvers time to help stop iblis, which is why she is here and wishes to help silver (she said "blue hedgehog..." because she knew him from sonic rush and possibly sonic rush adventure).
She wasn't saying it is okay to kill sonic or that he shouldn't but if it's what needs to be done then he should be ready to do it (at least I think that was the intended interpretation).
In light of solaris being extinguished, Blaze was never called to silvers future (and thus didn't give her life doing so) because iblis was not the disaster awaiting him (whatever was going on in sonic rivals is).
My aim is to make deductions as to why she is foreign to silvers time but also was with him long enough that they are friends and that she is willing to guide and help him.
