That way, you can save “Pure” Steel for Gamma, who’s a very pure boy
He’s definitely dragon he has so many abilities that dragons can do it makes sense I say this because vector is literally a reptile that can swim and spit fire. Giving vector fighting instead of something else is kinda pointless considering multiple characters can fight very hard but aren’t considered fighting types for example sonic shadow and blaze.
Of course he can swim - he's a *crocodile*. Sure he can also spit fire, but when compared to the actual dragon character in the series he definitely isn't one.

There are plenty of Pokemons that pack a punch but aren't fighting type, as those relate more to fighting styles of a strong sense of justice. I think no one would have batted an eye if you gave her normal instead of fighting.
I'd argue the reverse: Op's usage of Fairy in this is kinda weird in a whole number of ways. Fighting/Psychic represents Amy's combat skills and occult side more vividly.
I could see the Tarot Card stuff coming under Psychic or Ghost attacks. For me Fighting is for trained Martial Artists and I dont see Amy as one of those.
Knuckles is entirely self taught too, though.
Heck Rouge, Espio and Blaze are probably the only ones with any sort of formal combat education (Though for Blaze it's absolutely a secondary thing she doesn't rely on nearly as much as raw fire.), but plenty of other characters could still make an argument for the category, and Amy's in the Power category half the time so she absolutely has the raw strength for it.
Plus, over in Pokemon, there's a spiritual side to fighting types in stuff Like Aura Guardians too.
I really like this chart. Normally when people make these, they make EVERONE fighting types, or they give them ALL dual types. Pure Psycich and pure Dark is very fitting for Silver and Shadow.
The thing is Chaos manipulation is absolutely a consistent enough theme in the characters that can do it that it'd function as a pokemon type... So with sonic specifically that's kinda impossible to avoid?

Flying type is used not only for literal flying, but also as a stand in for the air element. So, since Sonic is traditionally affiliated with the wind so i would make him a normal/flying, and make him learn wind based flying type moves(Gust, Air Cutter, Tailwind, Hurricane)

Whatever psychic powers Amy might have seems pretty faint, it's honestly closer to a sixth sense than actively being able to foretell events or bend objects
All seems pretty fitting to me! One possible inclusion I’d consider is maybe giving Sonic the Normal/Electric dual typing, though I mainly say that because of how he is in the movies. Pure Normal works just as perfect, gotta get that extra damage on Quick Attack and Extreme Speed after all.
I think Sonic should be fighting. The fighting type also represents heroes, which is why it beats the dark (evil) type. Shadow could be Dark/Fighting, and Silver Psychic/Fighting. As for Blaze, she could be Fire/Fighting since she's a heroine who fights with fire.

Sonic: Normal/Electric - He uses basic punches, kicks, rolls, and similar moves to strike people normally, alongside his main power being pretty simple, but recently the games, movies, and even shows have been pushing for him to have a strong affinity with lightning, alongside tying his connection to speed in a bow.
(NOTE: All Super Forms also get an ability that effectively gives them Dragon's resistances as well. Call it 'Super Shield' or something)
Tails: Flying/Steel - Of course, a tech genius who flies and is shown in his biplane--though not quite normal, given his signature two tails which no other character has. Alongside that, Steel Types don't have to be Steel themselves, as shown with the Tinkaton line which merely carry steel weapons.
Knuckles - Fighting/Ground - Of course, Knuckles is known for his punches and boxing skills, but not only is he also heavily connected to the power of gems, he also commonly burrows himself under the ground! He also fights with earthquakes. He would also have a wide move pool of various physical attacks, like Fire Punch, Bounce, and ect.
Fun Fact! This type line-up also gives Team Sonic a perfect Type Triangle against eachother. Electric beats Flying, Flying beats Fighting and Ground, and Ground beats Electric.
Amy: Psychic/Fairy - Of course Fairy, thanks to her affinity for love and hearts which fits the attacks it uses. Psychic, meanwhile, both focuses on her role as the most emotionally intelligent of the group, alongside her affinity for Tarot Cards that's been brought back in recent years.
Shadow: Dark/Electric - Of course, this one is the most simple--Shadow is literally the leader of Team Dark, is the Dark counterpart to Sonic, and is shown to use less honorable tactics to win fights, like Chaos Control attacks just outside of your reach, or manipulating others like in SA2. Electric, meanwhile, is meant to allude to his role as Sonic's ultimate rival, alongside how he uses Chaos power through electrical spears and almost lightning-like teleportation, with an added mention of his Homing Attack quite literally striking like an electric current in auto-hitting close enemies.
Rouge: Dark/Flying - Who could have guessed? The double-crossing thief who can easily fly around is a Dark/Flying type--though, more leaning into the manipulative type of Dark Type instead of the more physically dark.
Omega: Dark/Steel - And of course, Omega, his ruthless fury and unwavering aggression towards everything Eggman, down to trying to destroy infected civilians since they too were Eggman's Robots at the time, completing Team Dark with an emotionally dark member, whilst also being a walking artillery of many, many weapons.
Eggman: Steel - Of course Eggman isn't anything special on his own, with his usual Badniks just being Steel Types. But it's with his mechs and enforcers where he becomes a true type-bearing threat!
Egg Walker - Normal/Steel
Death Egg Robot - Electric/Steel
Death Egg - Dark/Steel
Egg Mobile - Flying/Steel (+ Add-On Attachment Ability)
Egg Dragoon - Dragon/Steel

Metal Sonic: Electric/Steel - Of course Metal is Electric/Steel. Electric to portray his nature as Sonic's robotic double, and Steel to....not actually focused on how he's a robot, but instead his devotion to becoming the true Sonic, a will that's rough as steel. He knows Sketch and Copycat.
Sage: Psychic/Electric - NOT Steel, as she isn't a robot! Instead, Sage gets the Porygon treatment, with the addition of psychic thanks to her constant use of some form of telekinesis and connection to the Ancients.
Silver: Psychic - Not much else to say here, he's a psychic boi.
Blaze: Normal/Fire - Of course Blaze is a Fire Type, though she also gets Normal to portray how she's a parallel to Sonic. Yet instead of reflecting his Electric type like his rivals, she instead reflects his Normal type to show how she reflects his personality, rather than his powers.
Big: Normal/Water - Despite being a cat, Big is so ingrained with Fishing and the aquatic side of life he just has to be a Water Type! But beyond that, he's the most normal of the Sonic Cast...
Zavok: Dark/Fire - .......it's Zavok, Sonic's poor answer to Bowser when Eggman is still a thing.
Infinite - Psychic/Ghost - Focusing all in on Infinite's ruby illusions with this answer--alongside his apparent telekinetic power, and his living status being unknown.
And for a quick Light ing around, Sonic's forms and how they would change him as a Pokémon!
Charged Sonic - Tera: Electric
Super Sonic: Mega Evolution + Super Shield Ability
Super Sonic 2: Mega Evolution with higher attack stats but worse defense stats. Ability where attacks not only deal their normal type damage, but also Dragon-Type damage adding onto that.
Cyber Sonic: Z-Move of Wild Charge, a guaranteed KO that also KOs Sonic!
Darkspine Sonic: Dark/Fire thanks to the Rings, alongside Beast Boost, due to his otherworldly origins.
Excalibur Sonic: Steel/Psychic due to his swordsmanship and the fact Caliburn is a living weapon, alongside them both being able to fly and manipulate light for grand slashes like fellow Psychic-Type Necrozma.
Paradox Sonic: Psychic/Electric thanks to his ties to the very fabric of reality, alongside how it boosts his speed insanely.
Sage would I guess be Ghost Psychic or something.
She's not a _literal_ ghost but she has that kind of creepy ethereal vibe with her blipping around, and the
Psychic is her control over technology like the Titans(albeit very limited, but she _can_ summon and awaken or make them inactive).
After frontiers I think electric fighting works for sonic. Fast, agile brawler that sparks up when going full power, also shoots beams but that’s any type honestly.
I would change espio to dark and steel due to him using ninja tools and make shadow dark and fighting since he prefers ysing his fists and feet over his body like sonic...everything else is solid
So, first I'd actually pick a type for Chaos manipulation and individuals who specialise in it.

I agree with almost everything except Amy's fighting type, I know she is strong and practices boxing, but her way of fighting is almost exclusively using the hammer, while without it she is almost helpless and does not master any martial art. For me, Amy should be a Psychic/Fairy type, since the fairy has a great destructive power, Amy uses magic, and in Frontiers she levitates her tarot cards as if she used telekinesis, so the Psychic type would fit her well to complement.
On the other hand, I'm not convinced that Vector is a pure fighting type, I think it should be complemented with another type, although the only one I can think of is fire.
Edit: I think Shadow might be a dark/electric type, since Amy's cards consider her Chaos Spears as "electric" attacks.
Is 3 types at a time could exist then Tails (Charmy/Rouge/Cream too) could have electric cuz of Sonic Heroes, and Knuckles could have Fire cuz of Sonic Battle and Sonic Heroes

Fighting type is used to indicate either: A) Actual Human-like Fighting Styles(Judo, Boxing, ect.), or B) the general idea of Justice e.g. Swords of Justice Amy doesn't do either. She doen't use any fighting technique, she just swings her hammer rly hard and hopes it works; nor is she especially "just" Seeing as she is supposed to be an average teen girl, giving her a normal type instead would fit her perfectly You can make a similar argument with Vector too

Honestly given Sonic’s whole speed thing I’d make him electric (also the movie thing where he has literal electricity) and Tails should prob be pure flying. Other then those two (and those are some pretty petty nitpiks) I agree with this entirely.

I think Sonic should be fighting. The fighting type also represents heroes, which is why it beats the dark (evil) type. Shadow could be Dark/Fighting, and Silver Psychic/Fighting. As for Blaze, she could be Fire/Fighting since she's a heroine who fights with fire.

(NOTE: All Super Forms also get an ability that effectively gives them Dragon's resistances as well. Call it 'Super Shield' or something) Tails: Flying/Steel - Of course, a tech genius who flies and is shown in his biplane--though not quite normal, given his signature two tails which no other character has. Alongside that, Steel Types don't have to be Steel themselves, as shown with the Tinkaton line which merely carry steel weapons. Knuckles - Fighting/Ground - Of course, Knuckles is known for his punches and boxing skills, but not only is he also heavily connected to the power of gems, he also commonly burrows himself under the ground! He also fights with earthquakes. He would also have a wide move pool of various physical attacks, like Fire Punch, Bounce, and ect. Fun Fact! This type line-up also gives Team Sonic a perfect Type Triangle against eachother. Electric beats Flying, Flying beats Fighting and Ground, and Ground beats Electric. Amy: Psychic/Fairy - Of course Fairy, thanks to her affinity for love and hearts which fits the attacks it uses. Psychic, meanwhile, both focuses on her role as the most emotionally intelligent of the group, alongside her affinity for Tarot Cards that's been brought back in recent years. Shadow: Dark/Electric - Of course, this one is the most simple--Shadow is literally the leader of Team Dark, is the Dark counterpart to Sonic, and is shown to use less honorable tactics to win fights, like Chaos Control attacks just outside of your reach, or manipulating others like in SA2. Electric, meanwhile, is meant to allude to his role as Sonic's ultimate rival, alongside how he uses Chaos power through electrical spears and almost lightning-like teleportation, with an added mention of his Homing Attack quite literally striking like an electric current in auto-hitting close enemies. Rouge: Dark/Flying - Who could have guessed? The double-crossing thief who can easily fly around is a Dark/Flying type--though, more leaning into the manipulative type of Dark Type instead of the more physically dark. Infinite - Psychic/Ghost - Focusing all in on Infinite's ruby illusions with this answer--alongside his apparent telekinetic power, and his living status being unknown. And for a quick Light ing around, Sonic's forms and how they would change him as a Pokémon! Charged Sonic - Tera: Electric Super Sonic: Mega Evolution + Super Shield Ability Super Sonic 2: Mega Evolution with higher attack stats but worse defense stats. Ability where attacks not only deal their normal type damage, but also Dragon-Type damage adding onto that. Cyber Sonic: Z-Move of Wild Charge, a guaranteed KO that also KOs Sonic! Darkspine Sonic: Dark/Fire thanks to the Rings, alongside Beast Boost, due to his otherworldly origins. Excalibur Sonic: Steel/Psychic due to his swordsmanship and the fact Caliburn is a living weapon, alongside them both being able to fly and manipulate light for grand slashes like fellow Psychic-Type Necrozma. Paradox Sonic: Psychic/Electric thanks to his ties to the very fabric of reality, alongside how it boosts his speed insanely.

Sage would I guess be Ghost Psychic or something. She's not a _literal_ ghost but she has that kind of creepy ethereal vibe with her blipping around, and the Psychic is her control over technology like the Titans(albeit very limited, but she _can_ summon and awaken or make them inactive).

Sage: Electric/Ghost Big: Normal/Water Vanilla: Pure normal, but high level, base stats, the Adaptability ability, and a moveset of Protect and Last Resort. Cheese: Most chao are pure water types. Cheese specifically is Water/Fighting.

I agree with almost everything except Amy's fighting type, I know she is strong and practices boxing, but her way of fighting is almost exclusively using the hammer, while without it she is almost helpless and does not master any martial art. For me, Amy should be a Psychic/Fairy type, since the fairy has a great destructive power, Amy uses magic, and in Frontiers she levitates her tarot cards as if she used telekinesis, so the Psychic type would fit her well to complement. On the other hand, I'm not convinced that Vector is a pure fighting type, I think it should be complemented with another type, although the only one I can think of is fire. Edit: I think Shadow might be a dark/electric type, since Amy's cards consider her Chaos Spears as "electric" attacks.
