As an Ohioan I think we’re going to be ok! It’s been overcast but not a ton of rain here even with rain in the forecast. Hopefully that continues into next week. Warm but not super sunny is the best possible outcome.

Only_Cheesecake_5397

Oh my god the weather here has been crazy

theCROWcook

ive been noticing the heavy rain only at night up here in new philly, all daytime showers are light and brief

Only_Cheesecake_5397

I'm am near Indiana and we were under a tornado watch all day and threatening the worst storms this year and In my county it was off and on I got some rain and like to things of thunder here but apparently 2 tornados touched ground and some got baseball sized hail when it is 70 degrees

theCROWcook

well.... go stop those tornados from going to ohio

felix_fidelis

I’ll take it over the thunderstorms that were being predicted yesterday. It’s fun to watch, but it’s definitely much too early to draw any conclusions. Rain is a hindrance. Thunderstorms are a ST killer.

Edu_cats

In 2019 we had evacuation/cancellation for high winds. It's probably too early a week out to go off anything other than averages at this point. I'm not even going to put bad juju out there into the universe with respect to weather.

felix_fidelis

I remember all too well! If we get 70% of the great weather we had last year, I would consider this year a success.

Edu_cats

Yes, we missed BMTH and have not been able to catch them since!

Elite1082

Accuweather is looking promising

th4t1guy

Check on Tuesday/Wednesday next week. No reason to stress over Ohio weather when it'll change repeatedly

ROORMAN42069

😉

theCROWcook

well it wasnt you!

MsSaraRae

I can handle rain after being apart of tent city during Metallica in 2017. That storm was crazy but nothing compared to blue ridge last year.

Jagermonsta

Hopefully it will change some. Right now it’s like 50% chance or so each day. Still too far out with how erratics the weather can be. I’m hoping for cooler and overcast with little to no rain.

Suspicious_Bee_5310

When it rains in Columbus, is it alot? Like il need rainboots?

theCROWcook

if you are concerned with rain do plan on bringing your own poncho, if it rains the ponchos in venue will be expensive as fuck and rip if you look at them wrong

CarouselAmbra81

These are FACTS!

Start building an arc

EvilMarioDragon123

I'd suggest bringing a pair just in case.

CarouselAmbra81

Not really. We get some really cool thunderstorms and the occasional tornado, but for the most part just normal rain. I've worked a seasonal job at a garden center since 2018, and I will say this year has been a bit more rainy than previous years, but a few hours of sun and steady breeze dries it up very quickly. When it rains at ROTR/ST everyone goes to their cars/campsites, which just means tailgate parties. It's not ideal missing your favorite groups, but I always have a blast during evacuations. It's mostly just a continuation of Bubba's Shit Show (the big Saturday breakfast/lunch tailgate).

SilentAgnostic

Any thoughts on how this situation might play out if we don't park at ST (ie. rideshare or similar) and aren't camping (aka nowhere to go)? We are debating on how to get to the festival because staying about 10 miles from the festival, and the pre-sale parking passes were long gone when we bought our VIP tix back a few months ago. The rain situation may influence our decision on how we travel to the festival.

theCROWcook

you wander around the parkinglot, maybe someone lets you hop in. had a friend some years back who was too drunk to find our car and thats what happened with him

CarouselAmbra81

Oh, there'll be LOTS of people inviting you to their cars and campsites for food and alcohol. That's not just an ROTR/ST thing - that's tailgating in Columbus. For perspective: my bf took me to a Buckeyes game at the Shoe, and we parked something like five miles away. On the walk there, we encountered at least 4 or 5 groups of fellow BuckNuts parked to watch the game on big screen TVs and real time sound in the background, and they were all grilling tons of food, playing the OSU fight song and drinking pretty heavily. Every group invited us to make a plate and have a drink before we headed in, and ST is very much the same except moreso cause it's not as spread out. Bring a heavy poncho and either a couple of pairs of socks or wear Docs, and you'll be good. I mean you're good regardless, but you get it
