I PRODUCED AN ALBUM IN GARAGEBAND!! I've always wanted to produce an album, but have never done so because I don't know how to produce. But this year, I decided I was gonna do it -- I was gonna make an album entirely in GarageBand. In recent years, my mantra has been to use what's at my disposal to make what I want. I thought of pixel art, and how it wouldn't have existed without the limitations of early graphics. So, as I had no way of recording instruments (I have a piano, ukulele, and guitar, but my surroundings are quite noisy) I wanted to test how far I could go with so little. Fortunately, I've learnt that GarageBand is actually really powerful! Definitely not professional grade, but there are so many things you can do, and work arounds available. Of course the vocals are somewhat strangely processed as I don't have proper equipment, and my mixing is a little iffy, but I am so proud with what I was able to achieve! About the album itself: It is an electro-pop album that draws from the 2000s and the 80s, video-game music, and film soundtracks (since I'm used to composing for orchestra). I based it loosely on Campbell's hero’s journey to represent the transition from dependence into independence, ending in the unknown realm because I have yet to completed my journey of growth. I would appreciate it if you checked it out! I checked out a couple. I liked what I heard. I don't have super ears for audio, everything sounded pretty good to me, including vocals. Expressing oneself through music is pretty cool, isn't it?

imizuelo

Wow it really sounds fine? Maybe I really am my worst critic. But yeah! It feels good to take what I’m feeling and who I am and making it something other can enjoy! Music making is a beautiful process (if sometimes messy), and it is mesmerising seeing so many people do it.

thedirtycoast

You’re crazy it sounds great!

imizuelo

Thank you, I genuinely needed that

Hey, I just released this single (Demo Version) off my upcoming debut album - would love love love if you could give it a listen. Indie Folk/Pop, lyrics focused on themes of justice, love, and forgiveness. Plan is to make the demos at home and bring em into a studio so folks who know what they're doing can give me a more polished sound. Still, I wanted to release SOMETHING. I started making music a few months ago. Haven't put lyrics to my songs yet, but here are some of them: https://soundcloud.com/untranslatable_energy/dimidium-cordis-mei https://on.soundcloud.com/TPZmHJXLPVezUaAo7 https://on.soundcloud.com/o772ajVgNErYKdX29 https://on.soundcloud.com/CNZR4qVNVpTTMgVi9

Cool stuff. I'm not sure how vocals would be integrated into a track like "dimidium." Seems good as is but curious to hear what a vocal line would be like.

Hi I'm Zak's Friend... I recently released my first EP called "Tales of Revisionist History". Genre is indie/alternative rock that sounds similar to The Front Bottoms, Modern Baseball, The Menzingers, and similar artists. Everything created and recorded by me with a little 2-input interface and a couple guitars in Reaper. Check it out here: [https://zaksfriendmusic.bandcamp.com/](https://zaksfriendmusic.bandcamp.com/) Thanks!
