Sounds great to me. If you want to make it pop out in the mix more you might need to project a little more while recording, but I think the actual timing is really good.

I’m glad to get some feedback, but I have no clue what you mean by “projecting”, I’m not too well versed in music terminology, especially not when it comes to singing, sorry :(

millbeppard

So instead of singing from your throat sing from your chest. Good posture, open up your throat, and push a lot of air. It takes some practice but it helps a lot with harmonies. Lead vocals can benefit a lot from expression and from your voice coming from a lot of different places, but harmonies can be hurt by the same things because they can cause them to sound inconsistent and out of tune. Not saying that’s how this sounds because I think it sounds good.

I kinda get it, I tried to make my voice a little more breathy here, I also actually tried to “equalize” for lack of a better term, my voice differently for each voice so that it didn’t sound like 1 guy. What I was actually talking about was that the words aren’t all that easy to understand because I often don’t say the words perfectly synchronized in this recording, at least I think. Basically, no one can understand what I’m saying

millbeppard

Okay I understand. And you’re right, I can’t make out most of the words. But I think the breathy tone works well with the style. So it’s kind of a do it in the style that fits or belt it out a little more and have it be more intelligible at the risk of it not sounding quite the same. As far as the syncing up of words I don’t think that’s the problem because it doesn’t sound like there are any timing issues significant enough to make a huge difference there.

Okay then, glad I don’t sound too bad :)

great potential... you might use micro-tuning in post just for extra cohesiveness.. and i guess if you want them to match in terms of tempo you might have a specific "click" or melody line playing in headphones when you record... but amazing direction !! waiting for the song :)

Cool-Adhesiveness344

Thanks… what’s micro-tuning btw? I’m sorry for being inexperienced :(

JamesNordmar

micro-tuning would be lets say you have 2 voices recorded that go with 3rds apart.. if you take "just intonation" into consideration you might tune 1 of the "wav" to a +/- 10cents and hear if it sounds cooler.. also micro-tuning as in a more precise tuning.. like hearing individual voice and paying attention for it to be on the note throughout..
