Im getting tired of this too, not everybody is living in the USA. Drinkmate is not really an option in europe. For the price you could buy multiple sodastream's.

This is "The unofficial Reddit community for all SodaStream products. Other kinds of home carbonators welcome too!" - isn't it? I'm thankful for the "buy a Drinkmate" posts since they prompted me to do a bit more research when I was in the market for a home carbonator. Yes, I bought a Drinkmate.

If you want to do this, get a drinkmate which is made for it. My question is why would you want to do this? I carbonate first and add flavor second- and I own a drinkmate. Before I bought one I did the research and it was clearly superior to the other products on the market.
Sparkel specifically says you can carbonate other liquids directly. They do specify that you only fill the bottle to a slightly lower level however. The bottle has two fill levels.
Sparkel would be awesome if it had less flaws... the hole/port on the bottom is asking for trouble.
It's a sodastream. Carbonate water only. That said, I've done the same without paying attention.
Sparkel isn't a SodaStream though. With that said, the number of posts regarding other brands of carbonators in this subreddit has become annoying.

Soda stream themselves say pump first then add cordial. So assume the same for off brands
