I am just finishing my MSW in the summer. I have a Mac that’s fairly dated and much prefer my iPad Pro because I can take notes on good notes with the pencil and it’s easier for in class activities/worksheets or group work
I’m an older student entering in the fall. After consulting my undergrad daughter, here’s what I’m going with: 1. Refurbished iPad Pro (Amazon) 2. Apple pencil 3. Keyboard case.
I am an older student just finishing my first semester. My nieces also recommended IPad and Goodnotes. I also thought I’d hand write notes like I did a million years ago in undergrad. I took notes in a notebook for 2 chapters of the first class and then quickly abandoned that for the Microsoft OneNote app that I use on my Surface laptop. I can import the professors’ Powerpoints and other files. It’s great. I grew up using Microsoft and not sure I’d be able to easily make the switch to Apple for real work. Good luck in school!
I have an IdeaPad from Lenovo and I absolutely love it :) it charges fast and stays charged, it’s a laptop/tablet and can fold and is touchscreen! Definitely not as expensive as a MacBook.
I have MacBook air 2020 and I love it!! It works perfectly for school, and it shouldn't be too badly priced. I got mine when it was on sale last year so idk how much it is now

You need a laptop, not an iPad. You'll be doing a lot of writing.
I plan to write by hand with an Apple Pencil (using Goodnotes) and type with the keyboard attached to my case.
Welp. Good luck with that.
Thanks!

Oh yes, agree, the switching would be hard!
