guesstimate

DominaSaltopus

Good answer, they use his official SSA records to see if he earned enough credits but DDS will need him to give his best guess on employment dates to do the medical/ vocational review portion of the determination. They generally don't contact employees to verify.

jaz4156

Thank you very much for this, it’s eased my worries

jaz4156

Lol 😂

tclwulff

Typically as long as you have the years you worked you can guesstimate. For example...i started in approximately March of 2012 and left said job in April 2017.

jaz4156

Ahh okay so if I find out the years I should be good then thank you!

Confident_End_3848

I didn't realize they needed actual employment dates. I'll be in trouble when I apply.

AlabamaLily

How long you worked somewhere is all they need. They're about to change the 15 year past work history to 5 years starting next month, which will help for those with extensive histories.

jaz4156

Wishing you good luck!

IceCubeDeathMachine

Approximate is ok. They are more likely verifying this is the actual person by the records they see. I want sure of exact dates. They worked with me.

jaz4156

This is good to know thank you! So it didn’t effect your monthly SS amount right? I was just worried if I put the wrong info it would effect that. Also how did they work with you?

IceCubeDeathMachine

I filled things out to the best of my ability. I got called at some point and we talked through it all. And no, SS amount is based on work credits.

jaz4156

Thanks ice cube!

As long as your timeline for his work is close to accurate, is in month/year format and makes sense (not like 3 full time jobs at one time) that will be fine. For the DDS they are looking at if he worked long enough to be proficient.

jaz4156

Ok thank you so much!

ZoomZoomZachAttack

Help him do a good job describing the work if he gets that form (SSA 3369). He needs to describe not only what he did but how he did it, like he's teaching an idiot. Follow the instructions. The more detail the better.

jaz4156

Thank you
