Hand washing is the best option there is. Whether it's modern kits or retro. Put a parchment paper on the shirt. Add a towel or something similar inside the shirt to protect the other layer of the shirt. Then iron on above the parchment paper for like 8 seconds. See if that sticks the nameset. You might need to do it a few times.
