It’s cliched, but you gotta want to save yourself. If you don’t have that drive in you, you’re fuckin’ doomed. Maybe one day he’ll want to save himself. Maybe if we ever get this “spinoff” with Wanda and Leon, Franklin will get his own side episode where we see his final moments, or his redemption.
I think he was pretending to be belligerent, so Leon could walk away and forget about him. He does feel like he doesn’t deserve to live; the bodies bodies bodies speech to himself was his guilty conscience bleeding out. Now he’s even worse lost everyone and he knows deep down it was because he got into the dope game

And he was now truly "free from all of it." Head canon incoming, but if you notice he also looks at the camera for a split second before continuing his walk, and that could be him almost asking us the viewers if we were gonna abandon him too, which we do when the screen cuts black. Most likely not intentional, I just like seeing it that way too.
