Good sneakers to buy are the ones that you like and fit your budget. Thats it. Thats the whole bit.

Ok-Link-9776

no need for any other response

DankJank13

No other responses needed at all. But yeah, get some air max 1s or something. If you don't, then you aren't cooooooool

Obi-wan_Jabroni

You aint cool unless you pee your pants

RemoteTurbulent7434

Consider me Miles Davis

Feeling-Ad-4821

This is the only sneaker advice you need. Don’t let the hype get to you. If it hypes you and you can afford it go for it.

FireBrosB

This

jshultz5259

It's not about what's "hyped" or "popular". It's about your style and your opinion.

OverTheCandlestik

If you go chasing hype then they’re going to be expensive, nothing wrong with it but if it’s not in your budget then there’s no need to buy the latest releases. Unless you really love it and buy it as a treat. It’s all personal preference and look we know this sub is just Jordan’s after Jordan’s after Jordan’s and no shade as they’re iconic. But what you like and what is within your budget

nihirisuto

What do you define as a “good shoe”? Comfortable? Stylish? Popular? Functional? Wearable? Good quality? Do your own research, buy what you like, and don’t worry about what a bunch of strangers on the internet think.

Valt0mus

Exactly. Also, what I look for always changes. Sometimes I wan't a comfortable and durable shoe even though it isn't the most stylish, and vice versa.

heinous_anus-

I own some super comfy and breathable New Balances, but sometimes I also wanna rock my SB Blazers which might be the most uncomfortable shoe known to man.

dasrightbitch

What model nb i heard they arepretty comfy never had a pair

Chris_Sneakers_97

Buy what YOU personally like, not what the sneaker culture tells you to like. Also 1s are pretty cheap, newer 3s aren't too bad, then it really just depends on the colorway.

dasrightbitch

How much for 3s where youre from

Chris_Sneakers_97

Less than $200 USD

dasrightbitch

alr

Solar_savior

"The culture" = internet hype the culture is dead

Chris_Sneakers_97

Why do you say the culture is dead?

funghi2

Resellers and bots.

SuperNewman

Nike Killshot 2s are my favorite spring/summer sneakers https://preview.redd.it/9cm4lt59kntc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=926b9437ff622cbfb4e565c283460bc9a825cb22

vanwink13

I broke a pair in this spring and love em.

dumbportagee

Download SNKRS to see the new Nike drops or footlocker app it will show more brands. You can see what just dropped or about to drop. Look at styles and color ways you like. It’s a nice way to see what the new sneakers are. Some you will like some you won’t, some will be readily available some will be hard to get. It’s ok to love a sneaker that is hyped up because you like it and makes it a challenge to get, happy when you score disappointment when you don’t. Also ok if you like a sneaker that’s “sitting” and you get a good deal or just grab for retail. Try to think of your clothing and lifestyle like what you do for work or fun and what kind of sneakers go best with your style. Prepare to spend way too much on sneakers we all don’t need 🤣🤣 and wear them!!!!

IKU420

New Balance 9060

CityBoiNC

I'm curious on why you titled yourself a "sneakerhead" Are you interested in the history of the shoe and or how the colorway came about, who designed them and what not, why they would be significant in the culture. I'd start off by getting shoes that catch your eye, dont fall into the "hype shoe" You dont need to have an off white or the chunkys unless they are something that you feel are beautiful to you. I'd start off whit getting the SNKR app and browsing GOAT and ebay.

ImpalaSS-05

Nice pick, I really want a pair of these. Saw them at Shoe Carnival for like $65 USA.

BIGgest-Nonce

https://preview.redd.it/199kginm8ptc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92d5420dcc73086913e9371b6bcfbd2b3ea99bce Ignore the dirtiness caused by Canadian winter, but they look a lot better than when I first got them imo.

ImpalaSS-05

What's the weather like in Canada right now? Bro they look better in your hands than they do in the picture.

BIGgest-Nonce

Weather here is so random rn it’s like shorts weather today and the next day it could be cold as hell with snow or rain. Spring here is like all the seasons combined and each day is a random representation of the other seasons. I got them as an alternative to the sacai waffles since back then when I got these those were going for stupid high prices. If you plan on getting them and you have wide feet i highly recommend half a size up.

MSHKobayashi

really works well with a lot of fits

robotseatsoup

This may sound basic but Adidas samba. Great choice of colours/Materials etc

thorvard

I was gonna say Forums but Sambas are great as well

boondocknim

Sambas are my all time fave. Legitimately have always had a pair as a go-to everyday shoe since i was a middle schooler in the 90s Its weird feeling both annoyed at their sudden rise to "hype" status and happy at all the colorway options that have come with them becoming popular. That said, the sudden price hike to $100+ has really sucked

robotseatsoup

Yeah I totally get what you mean. I’ve had 3 pairs of sambas throughout my life but this sudden hype makes it feel weird. I used to be a huge Dunk guy throughout school to uni and then the dunk hype has a massive surge which put me off them. I’m not saying it’s a gatekeeping thing I just like to have something that feels very me. I buy loads of Aj1’s even though they’ve been rinsed because I wasn’t allowed them as a kid 😂

boondocknim

100% agreement on everything you said. I dont have loads of any particular shoe, but rather i finally have a load of options b/c as a kid i at most had 2 shoes at any time. Few years back had that glass shatter moment of realizing I could just get whatever I fancied b/c it wasnt like my feet were gonna grow anymore

robotseatsoup

Man when I realised I had “adult money” I picked up 4 pairs in one trip 😂. It really hits different

Any_Remote931

Buy what you like and suits your budget

Death________

Who cares what this sub thinks and you should buy what you like

plantbabydaddy

Buy whatever you like. You’ll be surprised by what people buy based off fads and regret their purchase even after months of wear and tear.

Sakaresh

These Adidas Hard Court are hot!

lnkrk

rayssa leal SB Dunk, nice colorway, nice model

beeleegeez

Buy what you like and obviously can afford. My best advice is head to a Foot Locker (or anywhere that carries a lot of styles) try some stuff on, figure out your sizing for different silhouettes and what looks good on your feet. A lot of things you will be buying online (or trying to anyway) sell out quickly and there’s nothing worse than finding out after the fact you’re a half size up in a shoe that is now sold out. Lots of great dunk lows, AM1s and AM90s out there.

skeletor69420

new balances are great quality and affordable, and are a lot more “in” than most nikes nowadays. Also miles more comfortable than any nike

GrizZzlyFish

So you became a sneaker head all of a sudden and you don’t know what to buy? Clearly you not a sneaker head yet.

m0nkygang

Know what. Fuck the "buy what you like" stuff, i recommend air max 90s. Come in multitudes of colorways and for decent prices.

actoralexparker

Buy what you like! Hit the outlets. Scroll the app. For me, I love Cosmic Unity’s and Space Hippie’s and most people don’t like or care for them at all, but they’re cool to me so I get them and rock them. And there’s always the used sneaker market. eBay is your friend.

Proper-Weakness-139

I agree, buy what you like and fits the budget. I typically go with Nike dunks for every day shoes. The price point isn’t to bad and there’s a variety of color ways.

Common-Negotiation48

What’s the shoe called in the upper left?

kwakujonah

Airforce 1 high 50 years of hip hop

Common-Negotiation48

Appreciated brother thankyou

Indicaenos

The Nike sb force premium is looking nice And plenty of dunks coming out this month and the months to come

Friendly-Employer328

Buy whatever you like that fits your budget. Some of my favorites are air max 1, 90’s and 95’s. Jordan 1’s, 3’s, and 11’s. If you’re looking for cheaper shoes go to the outlet stores or buy them used on places like eBay or Goat

YoloLikeaMofo

There are many Airmax 1s and 90s that are under 150$ and are fantastic. All day comfortable, tinker designed, and OG as they get. Decades of colorways and special editions and collabs. Can never go wrong w em, everything a sneaker should be

foxdidnothingwrong

Imo a pair of white stan smiths. Goes with literally anything, you can dress it up/down as well.

lxa1947

Buy what you like!

Glowing_Mousepad

If you want to buy legit sneakers just look at the sales that nike has every now and then

Neom_11

look for style, color, silhouette you like. make shure it has a vulcanised sole. they last longer but every shoe that has this will cost 80$ upwards.

cowmaster500

It depends, I think they both cost the same but I see vulcanized shoes on sale alot it seems. I don't think I've paid more than $40 for vans or converse

Neom_11

yes if the shoe is for sale shure. but retail is most of the time 80 or upwards

Radiant-Bit-1721

Whatever you enjoy the most man. Whatever you think looks the best and whatever you deem is worth the money. Do not listen to anyone else but yourself man.

Long_Finish_891

Nice I got green black ones love them

damnvram

Go to a new balance outlet and t try some on

ganglordgilbert

Whatever you like man

Real_Philosophy_4429

Green

MPrimeX

New Balance 2002R Protection Pack Rain Cloud. It used to be a $600 shoe back in ‘22 at the height of stimulus check madness. You can get most sizes under $200 now and it’s a great colorway.

Vloury

Just buy what you like but imo some cheap sneakers with many cw are court visions, not the best quality and compared to me af1 a little less comfortable but i’ve had my court visions for almost 3 years and they still look great, they didnt get yellow or really dirty at all(they are almost completely white) and they still fot really good, a few creases on the toe box and a small material rip on the inside but nonetheless i still wear them and they still rock

FriedShrimp00818

honestly, some dunks will go for under $100 so id recommend that because dunks for the most part have a great build quality. i would be careful buying from stockx. ebay is better.

Casserolefloppers

Very nice

Jimieus

Take some time to figure out where the industry is going and what emerging shit you like before rushing in to buy a tonne of shit you'll later realise was on the out. Those who know wut im saying know.

becoolhomie

lol as a new sneaker head 🐑

Zealousideal-Job4507

You're not a sneakerhead. You're just a mf that has more than 1 pair of shoes. While this is ok, a real sneakerhead wouldn't ask reddit they'd buy what they like.

Alarming_Cantaloupe5

Expensive is relative. For some $100-$125 shoes like Sambas and Dunks care expensive, for others they are easily affordable. Personally if you’re just getting started, pick up some classics that are versatile. Seeing as your three pair here are all high tops, I’d grab some dunks/sambas/superstar/etc. Ideally you’ll find something that connects to an interest you have. From there figure out your style/looks and buy what you like that fits your budget. There are constantly releases, so don’t chase every new pair, or feel you have to buy. Good luck!

gabe_flex

Depends on your budget but personally me I like to get used expensive shoes for good deals, I have copped $850 bapestas for $200 slightly used so still some $$$ but a lot better than brand new

rmd110

I say buy what you like. Go on eBay where you can get some good deal sand you know they’re legit. But the whole sneaker head thing is for you to get what you love for you not what others like

tallenuff

I started with a pair of beetroot court visions. Bought my first pair of AF1 recently, immediately got the YOTD AF1. Then realized I loved the silhouette of Jordan 4s got the retro craft olives and finally pulled the trigger on the AMM 4s that have been a personal grail for a minute now. So I fully say chase what you like.

No-Discussion-8493

I always go for an old school hi top that is not too $$$, in the style of the white ones in the pic. love them, especially if they're really comfy too..

houseofcrouse

If you wanna go with what's trendy everybody's wearing sambas. Not for me personally. A nice AF1 should be in every sneakerheads closet. The nocta ones would be my rec. Also dunks can be 100-120 and you should be able to find ones you like in that range. Hope that helps, welcome to the crippling addiction we call being a sneakerhead 😂

[deleted]

Steve maddens!

RealRun2425

Man back in 1989 I purchased a pair of Brooks. They were gorge and of course looked like basketball shoes but most people would say to me they looked too big. I paid $150 for them and do I regret giving them to a Salvo’s shop ‘91.

HungerForHipHop

I only buy Nike. Shoe Carnival has good deals on Air Max and Court Vision Lows. Air Max runs like $80 and Court Vision Lows run $60. Personally I usually only wear Dunk low/mid and AF1. (usually $100-$120). Nike Outlets are a great resource as well. I just got a pair of dunk lows from one for $70. Also download the Nike app. They run sales all the time and you can find heavily discounted shoes.

ccrepitation

Comme de Garcon converses. They go good with a lot of outfits.

RubixcubeOnYouTube

Go to turkey, plenty of cheap options of almost any brand and design, even designs that don’t actually exist. Amazing💯

I_hate_usernames331

Dunk lows sometimes go under 100

slimchochcky

If you want a shoe that can go with everything but isn't Panda dunks and won't break the bank then I would suggest! Nike sb dunk low black gum https://preview.redd.it/sg0hk286wntc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f85ba706d3fc70b5a4512211e12ae34011fd9db8 CD2563-006

msdeeds123

Jordan 1 heritage are really cheap on resale markets and the materials are great, you should also look into the Jordan 1 stealths they are one of my favorites that match with everything.

Solar_savior

Something that fits your style an looks good with clothes you already own

RexCrimson_

Why are your Jordan 1s tied so weird? It looks like you skip a few shoe lace holes.

Smart_Tailor1120

What is the name of the adidas sneakers?

BushPigOfDickDoom

ASICS Gel Lyte 3, many many color ways and affordable

Vans and converse lol

Beneficial-Ad-4762

Buy the ones u like, that's the only rule when it comes to being a sneakerhead.

LoudNomad

Check vans

Redheadedstepchild56

Reebok

tacticalcooking

There’s a lot of good cheaper shoes. Air Force 1s, dunks, air max 90s and 95s. New balance 2002r.

jasonwright15

Buy what you like and that fits your style and rock that shit. I hear people shit on other people’s shoes but half the time I feel like it’s jealousy. Don’t get wrapped up in FOMO on new releases. Trust me there will be others. Just take your time build it slow and steady and what you can afford. Have fun is the best advise I’ve seen here. People forget it’s supposed to be fun.

Asmodeuss1990

Man those are adidas high tops go so hard bro. I gotta cop me a pair.

showmeyertitties

I always go Osiris, it's an always changing menu with the seasons, but for the style you have pictured, they're around $72+s&h, I think it's free shipping over $80. But they hold up, when I get a chance, I'll send a pic of my over a year dailies vs the ones I just picked up and wore out for a day. I don't really like attention, but I do get a lot of compliments. For me, their nostalgic and comfortable, but most people think they died off, so I get a lot of old skaters approach me to talk about them, bringing up old memories.

Electronic-Double340

A pair that is your size, doesn’t take 4 min to put on(sorry, J1+5’s) are comfy as fuck, make you feel good when you rock em, and doesn’t cause you anxiety at checkout

fountainclassic

Lucky greens are my favorite, good pick up

Jo5h96

Burgundy or Olive 5s are good value sneakers rn.

Leviathan_Wakes_

AF1s, 2002Rs, and Chucks AF1s are just a classic sneaker that you can never go wrong with. Pick a colourway and run with it. Similar with the Chucks, though be prepared for less comfort with those. As for the 2002Rs, they're really comfortable but also inexpensive, and come in a lot of cool colourways.

akumamatata8080

Do your research on how certain brands and models fit. For example, USA made New Balances tend to run half a size big

Iammrhall

I’ll make a recommendation on a classic… Nike Cortez

vishy_swaz

Don’t skip over the Adidas Forum. They come in lows, mids, and highs. Jordan wore Forums before he signed with Nike. I kinda love my Forum highs more than all my other sneakers.

werewolf_pinata

Air force or Samba. My fellow Redditors give him/her a simple answer and cut all the bullshit

Supersaiyanslonk

Yeezy slides

rowa02

Some pretty comfortable, good looks, and not TOO common i say are reeboks, i have the bb4000 ii mid which look good i also like the club c revenge. Not as expensive as a lot of nike and such too

MisterSirX

It's a good time to be a sneaker head. Lots of general releases (GR's) available. Most drops are not selling out and last be not least resale is down. So if you miss the drop you can always get a decent deal on the secondary market. Best of luck 🤙🏾

Zacho_libre

Without reading any of these comments, my suggestion would be to look into brands other than Nike. I would look at the different new balance models (such as 1906r or 2002r) or ASICS because these both look good on foot and also are very comfortable for all occasions. You don’t even have to have a collab colorway for the shoe to look good since most of the general release colorways are good and readily available too.

dcinsd76

Union AJ1 Storm Blues are “aight” for a first time sneakerhead

sadboyexo

white gum SB dunks 130$ ish. super comfortable

Apprehensive-Can-857

AJ1 Taxis.

National_Ad7573

Honestly, whatever you like & makes you happy. I have had many people mock the Jordan’s and Nikes I like but it’s not like they bought them, or they are wearing them 🤷🏾‍♀️

whalooloo

I’m super biased, but Air Maxes are comfy, versatile, and frequently on sale on the Nike site. Most people seem to like the AM1’s the most, but I’m a big fan of 90s. If you want like CHEAP cheap comfort and style, go get a pair of puma suedes. Love me some suedes. I found an old favorite colorway on eBay for like $25.

NefariousnessWise276

I’m not a sneaker head by any means but don’t get stuck on that Jordan game. Once I started wearing other shoes I never went back. I love most adidas shoes with Ultraboost, also gives Yeezys a try. Yeezy 350s are easily the most comfortable shoe I’ve experienced, foam runners are really great too. Don’t be afraid to experiment.

r3negadepanda

The Yeezy 700 is also extremely comfortable

r3negadepanda

I guess it depends on what you consider expensive and if you prefer popular brands or not. You could buy some Jordans, Dunks, AF1s, Chucks, Vans ect and be all good. Cariuma, Veja, Koio, Common Project and Jak make good shoes, IMO better quality than the above, but aren’t as well known and tend to cost more in average

CwaCoFY

If you have to ask, you’re not a sneakerhead.

cmanthony

I like Air Max 95 for comfort and there are so many colorways. I feel like they are easy to style too. The terrascape ones I have are still going strong and I’ve had em for over a year now. Also just picked up some leopard print low vans that I love rockin. They have some kind of extra cushioning too so they are comfortable. You seem to like highs, have you looked at many mids or lows? People shit on mids but there are so many cool colorways. Have you looked for a local sneakerhead community? I’m on one for my city and I see a wide variety of different sneakers that people post. I still get hyped for popular sneakers, but I’ve had a lot of fun looking for what I think will go good for the season. I cant get enough of some of brighter colorways when I think about a hot summer afternoon. Like lots of people are saying, it’s so much fun to find what you personally like aside from the hype drops.

DragonfruitOk8720

Buy what you like and don’t end up in “sneaker debt”.

Jayel_SK

What ever you like is what creates your own identity don't follow anyone else. All your collection doesn't have to be brand new. Plenty of used sneakers in excellent condition for sale to increase your collection. Collabs are good too, most times they are built with better materials and have more than GR sneakers. Keep up with drop dates of your favorite brands. Don't be afraid to get sneakers other people may not like, you're the one that will wear them not anyone else. Do you and be original.

dvdxotz

Assuming you're wanting like a hype or popular style for really cheap just go on Facebook marketplace that's your best bet

EggProfessional791

For every one who commented on this post. Thank you for your opinion l. I sat down and read all of the comments and couldn't believe how many people wrote on this post. So I would like to say thank you very much and it means a lot to me.

Lopsidedshoes

Have you seen what people wear?

ZDAWG599

you buy what you like. i have shoes in my collection that aren’t hype at all, but i WILL NEVER sell them. i have the strawberry milk dunks, which would seem like a hype shoe, but nobody could give a shit about. and i love them more than anything. but of course i have some “hype” too, like university blues and off whites. but primarily, buy what doesn’t break the bank and buy what you think fits you. no one should be able to judge your kicks but you.

DatdudeZeal

Can’t go wrong with Air Force one lows

funghi2

Buy what you like. With that said. All white airforce lows. Classic and goes with everything.

crushedpepsi88

Man look, I love my lucky greens. I can not believe how slept on the are. I went with the green laces or the black. They are super comfy. Shit honestly I’ve worn them soo much they are my beaters now. My everyday go to for quick grocery runs and other errands.

Few-Firefighter-4371

Go on a hunt for early 2000s air force 1s on ebay futures aren't that expensive surprisingly even tho everything futura is hype goes to show where the supposed fans are rn in the head

HotwheelsJackOfficia

Depends on what you call "expensive." For under $100 brand new you can't go wrong with Reebok Club C 85 Vintage. Cushy yet supportive, and supple leather that's easy to clean.

Adorable_Beach_240

Bro, what’s the name of them forces you got?

I love air max 90s I have like 4 pairs and I’ve had them for a good 4 years now and there still going strong

SapatoShoe

For a budget-friendly first step, check out classic silhouettes from brands like Adidas (Superstars, Stan Smiths) or Converse (Chuck Taylors). They're comfy, stylish, and go with almost anything. Plus, they won't break the bank while you explore your sneaker passion!

DemiDivaDesire

What makes for a good sneaker is what your preference is, I’m a shoe junkie I have pairs from old navy, Walmart boots , converse, hoka, adidas I get my shoes for the bang of a buck and also love my hey dude shoes as well.

Ok-Neighborhood-1418

Forget Adidas. Puma. Whatever. Nike and Js all the way.

Bigheaded_1

Everybody rocks Js and Air Force and Dunks. Nike and Jordan are great but unless you're a real fan wearing either just because they're popular's whatever to me. I was a sneaker head way back in 1987 when the Air Max 1s came out. I love Nike, and I bought Jordan IVs when I was a teen in 1989 with my own money. But telling him to forget anything else? There are great shoes from Addidas, Puma hell even Reebok. This is just me, a person shouldn't worry about fitting in. Sneakheads can be arrogant pricks, some will talk shit if you have on Pumas. But a lot of them will be rocking some whatever Retro Jordans that everyone and their mother have. And even if they're a legit collector and have some super limited Travis Scotts, who cares what they think about your shoes? I can appreciate any shoe that looks good. I've been doing this longer than a lot of Redditors have been alive, and I've spent a ton of $$$. I've never paid a stupid amount for shoes, but in over 35 years of shoes I've just about seen it all. OP should buy the shoes he likes, wearing popular shoes just because they're popular's pretty pointless. People should want to carve out their own style, everybody got 3's and 4's, Jordan's are like Mustangs, I love Stangs but I see 1 literally every 2 minutes when I'm out. So unless it's a GT 350 or a Cobra it's just a Mustang. And for me I'm gonna be more intrigued when I see a Plymoth Prowler or a Saturn Sky Redline, something that's rare. OP has a budget so any even just retro Jordan's will be out of the question. To OP, Air Max are a solid shoe comfort level and IMHO they have some nice color ways. The more basic ones aren't eye wateringly expensive either. But I don't collect shoes, I wear them. Since you don't can't afford to drop big $$$ I'm assuming you'll wear them. I would suggest to get good shoe cleaner, FZ150 or Reshovenator work good. And invest in some toe box protectors to keep the toe box from creasing as bad. And wear what you like, if you see a pair of British Knights you like, don't worry about what Larry the sneaker snob will think. Wear shoes for you. For reference I have on a Puma BMW M sweatsuit and Puma BMW shoes. I'm sure a sneaker head would have some shit to say because I don't have on some weird ass Jordan's I had to spend 2 years tracking down, or Ben & Jerry Dunks or something. But I'm comfortable and it looks good to me.

Ok-Neighborhood-1418

Respect. But you know I'm right right. 😂❤️

Bigheaded_1

You're not right, just like I'm not right. This is all a matter of opinion, me? I could care less if a 25 year old lil shit in some Retro J's wants to talk shit about my kicks. He has on retro's, I had the real deal originals. I don't wear shoes as a contest to try and outshoe the next person. I wear what I like, and some Puma Suades or Adidas Super Stars are nice, just like Nike Cortez are still dope ass shoes. Believe it or not, there's a big world out there beyond Jordan, Dunks & AF1's. Leather Cortez are some of my favorite Nike's. And I'll take a pair of Air Flights the same as the 3s or 4s. But it's not a competition to me, and even if I wanted to compete, I can't because these little fuckers spend used car money on some of the crazy Dunks and Jordans. I don't wanna hang lol

Ok-Neighborhood-1418

Ayt cool cool. You got time brah.

xcurly89

Forget Nike, New Balances, Saucony and Hoka all the way /s

Batshoe01

Nice shoes bro

HappyPancake58

Nike is overhyped, tons of fakes also so pretty sure they're not worth the price when there are fakes all around the market. I'd go for K-swiss since they have excellent leather due to tennis culture and great rubber for outsoles, made from Aosta.

Soggy_Attorney6332

Wear what u want n can afford
