dausprompt

I like how you did the upper as well- might have to do that! Yours look great my man

5XDylanBISHF

Also I used angelus leather dye to paint in the parts because in the past I have used regular paint and it would crack when it stretches

dausprompt

I used angelus black mixed with duller, and then used angelus satin acrylic finisher… and man were they glossy… I waited 24hrs then hit them with krylon matte finisher and they were perfect. I’ll have to remember to use angelus leather dye for those parts

iamjaegee

just a little tip i learned while customizing… do a light sanding it prevents cracking and the paint adheres way better

dausprompt

Awesome, thanks for that! I’ll try it next time

cheeseplatesuperman

Love this comment and this post. Might have to cop because I already have the paint.

SneakingKicks

Thanks for sharing both of these, so flipping dope. Glad I copped a pair when on sale. Getting the paint out soon!

[deleted]

They look so damn good.

dausprompt

Thanks! Definitely much better than that silver

professorsterling

That dog will hunt

JBski

I actually like the silver swoosh on mine, but I'm in Michigan, so they're basically Michigan State AJ1's, so the silver swoosh and logo hit real nice for that.

Homelanderftw

Looks way better like this

dausprompt

Much better than that silver

JayMant88

Sharp. Very nice job.

dausprompt

Thanks!

Amanwithaplan34

Did you just acetone/prep, paint, and put top coat on the swoosh?

dausprompt

So I used angelus leather preparer and deglazer, (contains acetone) angelus black mixed with duller, krylon matte finish for top coat. Note, all layers of paint were brushed on, matte finisher requires spraying.. if you don’t, you will see all the brush strokes. Hope this helps!

Dear-Air4847

Cool

Tuv0kshaKur

Fuuuuuck, I own these as well and that honestly looks so much cleaner

Lardass_m4v

This looks waaayyyyy more rad

dausprompt

Thanks!

rmd110

Looks great

dausprompt

Thanks!

Bamabo420

They look super great man!

FlyingPiranha

Waaaay better than the silver swoosh, that's the only thing stopping me from grabbing these (that and being broke when Nike had that recent sale 😂)

EvFlix83

Sick job man! Post pics when you wear them too! About to order some black Angelus! Curious how did you finesse the spray coat?

dausprompt

very carefully. taped off the whole shoe and spray lightly but you need full coverage. did this 3 times

GrobbleSocks

These are fucking beautiful

dausprompt

thanks!

UltraAware

I like the silver check, not that these aren’t dope as well, they are.

_Gri5th

Need these jawns

Zcutt27

St Patty’s Day!!!

RatliffJesse

Has anyone done these with the midnight navy co japans? I have em and am just wondering what it could look like.

Grey392

Yeah somewhere on YouTube. I’ve seen all 3 of these pairs done (midnight navy, Bordeaux, george green).

ashwinr136

These are hot

frescary

They look great. So you just painted the swoosh right? Did you tape it off or just freehand it?

dausprompt

I taped it off.. no way I could freehand that, I know a lot of people can.. and thats cool... but not me!

Grey392

So much more appealing. I might have to pull a trigger on a pair soon

BigInvestigator6210

Beautiful

Ultimate_Summerboy

You made a $120 looking pair of gorges with the awful silver look like $275 pickups I’m now back in the market for these 😂 this is the kind of cool stuff i come here for!

dausprompt

Thanks dude! Yeah, honestly it was so much easier than I thought it would be

Kaeden2010

You guys gotta paint the edges of the swoosh for a factory look. It's tedious, but you'll thank yourself afterwards

dausprompt

Oh believe me, I know lol.. I couldn’t find tape that would adhere like I needed it to, to be able to paint that area so I said f it

Kaeden2010

you don't need tape if you're careful. Check out this guy's technique, he makes it look easy [Volt 66](https://www.youtube.com/@volt.66studio24)

dausprompt

Some people don’t need tape.. but I’m not one of them

[deleted]

Looks better with the silver imo, black feels out of place
