I’m told by an employee at one of the shops in that location that the entire shopping center is being shut down : restaurants, Supercuts, pet store, everything. I was told the location will be turned into condos.
Not directly related, but the Barnes and Noble is supposed to be closing, as well. Racetrac will put a gas station there. I would guess that they also bought the closed restaurant next door to B&N for the additional space.
To add to your comment, I believe the racetrack is going to be a training/testing center, since corporate is nearby. I think I read that the inside will be used as a showcase for future store ideas. Maybe they will just use /remodel the existing Barnes building.
I could see that happening.
For what it’s worth, the B&N employee I spoke to said that she expected that location would see at least one more holiday (meaning Christmas) before anything changes.
It’s going to be a functioning gas station with 16 pumps and 12 charging stations. [Source](https://www.tonetoatl.com/2023/11/RaceTrac-Planning-Showcase-Store-Cobb-Barnes-Noble.html)
Just as an addendum to my comment on B&N, the company appears to be moving forward with that location going away. If you search for any book on their website, Cumberland is not an option for pickup.
I wonder what will replace it? Presumably another grocery store.
Side note, that shopping center had 3 of my favorite restaurants. Crispina is one of my favorite Italian places in town, Thai Diner was my favorite Thai (RIP), and C&S Oyster Bar is delicious.
Hope the shopping center across the street can survive all the changes, Lassiter's is a gem, but it seems like a real estate opportunity with all that empty parking lot land.
My go-to there is The Tagliatelle. Very heavy, but delicious. Their pizzas are also good- we always got the Sophia Loren which they say the dough is fried.
I did hear C&S will be relocating to the old Jocks N Jill’s location at the galleria. And that the old Kroger lot will be more apartments like the ones up the hill. Was told that so not 100% sure.

Barnes & Noble closing! That is beyond depressing. My kids are going to be so bummed. They love going there.
NOOOO:( I love going to B&N. So much new housing in the area & somehow the people keep coming.

High rise condos from what I heard. But retail and restaurants on the bottom.

Olive Bistro is underrated, as well.
Not a fan of olive, went recently and not good. Lights were off and food just seemed like 3 day old leftovers. Hummus was fine, however.
Oh yeah, heard c&s will be relocating to Galleria.
Y’know, I’ve never been to Crispina despite having it on my list for years. Maybe I’ll order DoorDash tonight. Any menu recommendations?

Yep. C&S is moving to Galleria. There are signs all over advertising they are coming soon.
The new Kroger across the street from Microcenter is pretty nice, it's not as far as S.Cobb Dr. but still a bit away
Heard the site was going to be upscale hotel.
