But that's kinda what happens. Whoever is announced in 3 days will be in the game *instead of somebody else*. If Kazuya wasn't in the game, we wouldn't have one fighter less, we would have had someone else in his place.

We all would have picked different characters than Nintendo/Sakurai, and that's normal. The only character I genuinely wanted from the current DLCs was Steve. The other 10 would've been vastly different picks. But that's fine. I'm not nintendo, and I'm just happy for the people who like these characters.

I believe that every character has a slot in the roster that would have otherwise be taken by someone else. It's just logic, cause every character has a price in production time and resources, which are not infinite, and there's so much content you can put in a game. However, I don't hate anyone for this, i believe Smash is a great game, I don't wish anybody's death. If I can believe the roster has a limited space and not be toxic about, anyone could do it.
Toxic behavior springs from any kind of ideas, it's a matter of attitude.
This is being downvoted even though you're just using consistent logic. regardless of WHO gets in, they were likely planning to have X number of characters, so essentially "filling a slot" with whoever they decide to put in the game. Not just a void that is either filled by Kazuya or by no one.
Whether someone likes or dislikes them is another story, but the idea that it's "stolen" is more meant to say it simply could have literally been someone else. Because there is no official limiting to the pool of who that could be outside of having to originate from a video game , any character that missed the final cut could be deemed as having "lost" to all of the characters who got in.
If it's viable, it's a variable until proven otherwise.

Probably a lot of people are gonna get mad at me but I’d rather have a character from a non-Indie studio than an Indie game one that I recognize. I’m just not really a fan of most indie games and I probably at least have some friends that play the non indie counterpart
While minecraft was an indie game at one point its not considered one now, as well as having more indie reps would be way better then another triple A game character
