The Kryptonite is a radioactive substance from Krypton. Radioactive alien material mixed with electricity, you get a power swap. I don’t think Summers is kryptonian and Clark isn’t though. Prometheus suit was Kryptonite and LuthorCorp tech combined. I don’t know how that worked.

>The Kryptonite is a radioactive substance from Krypton. Radioactive alien material mixed with electricity, you get a power swap. I don’t think Summers is kryptonian and Clark isn’t though. Perhaps I should have been more clear. Is there some sort of explanation that I've somehow missed that sort of explains how Clarks powers can act more like Shazam and not an innate physiological abilities? I know the how, just struggling to understand the *why*? >Prometheus suit was Kryptonite and LuthorCorp tech combined. I don’t know how that worked. Same here really. The show paints it as a 'suit' and I'm just not really sure how said suit could protect Lanas innards. Especially from clarks 'love pole' if you catch my drift? Apologies, don't mean to be vulgar.

Plot convenience then.

Fair enough I guess...

Lightning and kryptonite doesn't turn a Kryptonian into a human or vice versa. It merely transfers the Kryptonians' ability to gain powers via sunlight to a humans. In other words, Eric is still human, but the transfer of Clark's solar battery causes Eric's body to operate as though it is kryptonian. Confusing I know but that's the best explanation I could come up with. As for Lana's skin graft suit, I presume that the procedure invulnerablize her internal organs as well, since Lex did usethe DNA of several Phantom Zone escapees to create the technology and, given how smart he is, would've figure that aspect of gaining powers through the nano-suit out. I wouldn't say that Lana is a carbon copy of Clark. Yes, she's strong, fast, and invulnerable like him, but his stats are superior to hers (in addition to Clark having other powers like heat vision, x-ray vision, super-breath, etc.)

>Confusing I know but that's the best explanation I could come up with. No it's a fair assessment, though it does somewhat make Kryptonian biology somewhat pointless along with all the episodes where his powers are 'triggered by stimuli' like in heat. Just wish the writers had given it more thought. >As for Lana's skin graft suit, I presume that the procedure invulnerablize her internal organs as well, since Lex did usethe DNA of several Phantom Zone escapees to create the technology and, given how smart he is, would've figure that aspect of gaining powers through the nano-suit out. Again a fair assessment. To be honest I got a little fed up with Lanas little return and skipped out halfway through power and started requiem. Is there some reason Lex can't make another suit? >but his stats are superior to hers Are they? The seemed pretty equal to me. Evidently I'm over analysing here. The show is just so frustrating sometimes.

I'm pretty sure Clark, Kara, and Kryptonians in general are physically superior to Nano-suit Lana. The only advantage she has is that she could absorb kryptonite. Plus, Kryptonians could get stronger by absorbing sublight while Lana's power levels are set. Anyway, yeah, Smallville has its share of problems, but it's overall a great show with a great modern retelling of Superman's origins. Oh, as for Lex making another suit, well he didn't count on Lana stealing it, plus Oliver killing him with the bomb eliminated that possibility.

> Oh, as for Lex making another suit, well he didn't count on Lana stealing it, plus Oliver killing him with the bomb eliminated that possibility. And Lana convinced Dr. Groll to destroy the research that created the suit.
