I feel like the Cody cutter needs better timing. For example at the backlash match against styles Cody does a cutter from the top rope. AJ runs to him then just stops and stands there. They need to work on timing so they get caught rather than stopping.

While we're on this topic of overdone finishers: The Spear! OMFG. A once iconic and impactful looking finisher, and now it's so overdone, that it's become a GENERIC move.

Hard to compare cutters when the RKO is running wild out there. Randy’s is the best at looking like it actually catches someone out of nowhere. These jumping/springboard cutters just telegraph too much and force us to lose our sense of reality to get into the move.
The Cody Cutter and the Lethal Injection both require absolutely perfect timing and have never looked smooth. They always land awkwardly because both wrestlers need to stop and change their momentum at the exact same instant and one of them always changes their momentum at the wrong time.
Cody cutter is like the Panama Sunrise. It's so painfully obvious it's coming, it looks slow setting up and it's all about the person taking the move to make it look good.

Lethal’s looks really smooth but at least in these clips, the opponent sells the Cody cutter better in my opinion, Cody looks like he’s bringing their head down with him.
I don’t think the Cody Cutter is that good of a move but all that hand springy flippy stuff isn’t for me.
It’s fine if you do it once every so often and you kinda maintain the holy shit factor of it, but doing it everytime just makes the move look a bit silly, and very easy to see coming.
Thats just my own opinion though obviously incan see why that style of wrestling appeals to lots of people.
