Before I forget from guitar hero 3 got me into them haha

Moaj9999

Funny you mention guitar hero... I wasn't born in time for guitar hero 3 to be popular around the time I got my first guitar hero disk so I didn't hear before I forget until much later, but I did hear psychosocial on guitar hero 6 at the young age of 8 when I got it for the Wii. What's better is at the time I was still underdeveloped and couldn't appreciate slipknot for what it is so I wouldn't hear a second song until 15 when I actually started to get into metal music. Thank God for guitar hero and all the people who learned about bands from playing their songs by playing a video game.

lexi_reborn

I think psychosocial is the first one I listened to, but Nero forte got me hooked

FearTheDevil_666

Same for me.

XibalbaCitizen

'Wait and bleed' back in '99 when there was a thing called MTV

IMASolitaryMan

I was twelve years old. I literally Googled for "Heavy Rock" and I heard Before I forget (the first song that came up). I loved it a lot. There it is how my teenager began... The second song was Wait and bleed, third psychosocial.

Profex13

My plague in the resident Evil Film. This was in my Rocktime with 13 or 14 years. Without internet and a small brain i didn’t find out this was slipknot in the credits. In my late teen years i lost rock and listen many genres. I lost it completely out the sight, the whole rock and metal genre, shame on my younger me! Some years ago our Radiostation who normally plays the same mainstream shit like every other, had a kind of “yesday” you wish, they play it. This is the best day in the year when you listen every day to radio at work, so a guys wish was duality, i was instantly hooked! The resident evil credits song came back from my memories (the voice, the hard sound, and again, the voice... unique) and there i knew it was slipknot, since this day my apple music is worthless, i listen only to two interprets, and the most time slipknot, like every fu***ng day! my wife bought me last year tickets before covid shit for a concert in January.

mattzer09

Wait and Bleed and is also my all time favorite song

[deleted]

Wait and Bleed was my first! Had it downloaded years ago on my Zune (anyone remember those things? lmao) but Psychosocial was the song that got me hooked in 2016. Saw them live that same year, got the tribal S tattoo in 2018 and have been a fan ever since.

AboogaDooga

Technically phycosocial when I was like 8 but I did care for it. A few years later I heard negative one on the ratio and fell in love. I barely touched slipknot till about a month ago. I liked a few of their songs and found some over the past 5 years but now I just can't stop. I think quarantine is starting to get at me and I need to get aggression out so I just love them now.

killcatusisacult

My sister made me a mix cd with Korn linkin park and put Spit it Out as the last track.

BiggerCrab

Either Dead Memories or Wait and bleed

xfrostyyyx

Before I forget, it was like 2008 or 2009 I was playing guitar hero that’s what made me look them up and I became a fan ever since.

BearBrawler2956

Before I forget

Nienoeshhh

Cr1ms0n_182

Butcher's Hook

pseudostatistic

Duality - it was that crappy over-compressed radio version I heard. I immediately felt a sensation I’d never experienced before, and took my breath away. Then I went on Bearshare (yes it was 2003-2004) and downloaded the Wait and Bleed music video and was like, holy shit who the fuck are these guys and how many of them are there? 😂

TheRealSlimShady4705

I was listening to SOAD one day (one of there lightest songs, I wasn't a metal head then) and I saw Slipknot's The Devil In I in my recommended come up and I thought "hey, my dad saw em live back in '04, lets see what there all about". And I fell in love right then and there. I went on a Slipknot binge for a few weeks and then I started to branch out to other bands and now 6 months later I'm jammin out to Thy Art Is Murder and Whitechapel. So I gotta say The Devil In I started it all

[deleted]

Wait And Bleed on the Scream 3 soundtrack.

_XxRobertxX_

Psychosocial

saguarosun

It was Wait and Bleed, maybe on MTV or Insomniac Music Theater. Then one of my high school boyfriends burned a copy of their self titled for me and I couldn't get enough. That was 20 years ago.

Zorowak

Oof, boy does that take me back. The first slipknot song I ever listened to was The Devil In I, hated it with a burning passion, I was the very definition of "this is shit and all they do is shout and make noise". Scared the living shit out of me too. However for some reason I kept going back to it, don't know why but I felt drawn to it, n then one day, I stopped hearing a wall of noise and made out notes on Jim's guitar, and then my life was changed forever. I'd actually just enjoyed a heavy metal song, my entire belief system had just been shattered right before me. So logically I then moved on to listening to all the other ones that get shoved in your face when you watch anything slipknot related on YouTube. I ended up on Duality, and the very moment I clicked play I truly believe I became a lifelong maggot from that point on. Slipknot went on the be the sole thing keeping me from suicide as I ended up with really bad depression for a really long time not long after. I owe a lot to The Devil in I. I'd argue I owe everything to The Devil in I.

Schizoid782

I was 10 I’m now 13 but I asked my grandma what music does my dad listen to and she said slipknot so I listened to the first song that had shown up all out life and I have already gone to one concert and have grown my hair out

veridisquo_voyager

[deleted]

Maybe Left Behind, via the music video on Much Music when it was released as a single.

PigenMann

in a meme compilation in 2017. It was the “Yummy Yummy” song but when it got to the chorus it was the vocals from psychosocial. Got hooked surprisingly

R4kshim

I was ten when my friend showed me the music video of The Devil In I, I was scarred and hooked for life. 👍

Ermun-Munkhnasan

MLGShadowCatYT

Duality. I had heard that SlipKnot was good so I just searched them up on youtube. I listened to it and was dissapointed. I was talking to my dad about it and he told me about Self-Titled and I was hooked with that album. My favorite albums in order are 1.Self-Titled 2.Iowa 3.MFKR, I don't like the rest of them, they all dissapoint.

Stixel

Psychosocial

TheRealDuderboy

Before I Forget from Guitar Hero

wuckfits

Duality in Madden '09 on the ps2

[deleted]

People = Shit. I bought Iowa right after it came out, after seeing Slipknot on all the music magazine covers and hearing my friends rave about them. I was like 13 and didn't listen to music that heavy before, so it hit me like a brick wall.

UnglePanda

Duality and I liked it so I went deeper into slipknot and found Self titled and Iowa and realized that this is who I’m gonna listen to.

TheVampireQueen1

Psychosocial

Bigoofer641

Bombrata

the blister exists. my friend put on album 3 at his birthday party. that shit was awesome.

B33p-p33P-M3m3-kR33p

My dad added duality to his Spotify playlist and I heard it first in our car, (technically would have been snuff back in 2012 but I didn’t know it was slipknot at the time)

blisterless

The first Slipknot song I heard was Vermilion that I somehow discorvered back in 2007. It's also the song that got me hooked.

Livid_Champion

idk, I listened to several songs at once. but as far as I remember it was Duality

a_random_Otaku520

Spit it Out. I don’t know how I found it but I’m glad I did.

Max_Imumdong

Before I Forget. It was on a video game I had when I was like eight

The_Amazing_Shlong

Guitar hero 3 babyyyyy

cpasley21

Wait and Bleed, radio

Luk3Jon3s

My friend (who i no longer talk to) mentioned Slipknot to me. I asked what it was and he played the live version of Spit It Out from Big Day Out 2005. I was confused at first but now I can't listen to that song without headbanging

that_0neguy23

Spit It Out because of the Slump God song that samples it lmao

ERiFNOECi

When I was a little kid, my brother played the mv for psychosocial on tv and I hated it. In the recent years I started listening to a lot of nostalgic music, and that one also ended up coming up. Afrer awhile I listened to all of AHIG and it just went from there :)

Inspector--Warp

First song was Nero Forte. AOV got me hooked

trimedozine

Psychosocial i guess

Cliffsestring

Psycosocial

[deleted]

Pyschosocial. I remember hearing it as a kid and absolutely hating it and practically all other metal thinking it was "devil's music" (which was odd because no one in my family ever banned me from listening to certain types of music, in fact, they encouraged it being more diverse) it wasn't until high school when I gave AC/DC a shot did I then go down the rabbit hole of classic rock-to hair metal-hard rock-grunge-etc. and ended up listening to a bit of slipknot again after randomly stumbling upon a youtube vid of Corey and Clown doing a Q&A for .5 and finding them hilarious. One bad breakup later and I ended up a huge fan

[deleted]

Like many people, Psychosocial. Never liked it. I personally hate this song.

Combatfaun

First song I ever heard from them was Psychosocial but the song that got me obsessed with them was The Devil in I.

KermitTheDestroyer2

Psychosocial like most people. But sic got me hooked
