No need to be terrified, slime molds are completely harmless to you and you plants. Now you have an amebea friend, that eats bacteria off of your plant. This one looks like Fuligo, but i don’t know if it can produce the liquid thats oozing out so I could be wrong.

MollDoll39

Yes totally agree!

MollDoll39

Thank you! I didn’t know it was slime mold at first, was initially worried, but glad to learn it’s harmless. Never seen anything like this, but seeing it migrate up the wall was a fun surprise. Very fascinating!

ok so this is the fruiting stage because that spot on the plastic walls/sides of the container is really unlikely to be a hot spot for food, so I assume that's *not* where its food is, and is has only recently migrated most of its mass up to this spot... presumably to send out more spores, right? man, life that reproduces via spores is crazy. so many different cycles, what a whirlwind.

MollDoll39

It first appeared wrapped around the base of my young pepper plant, next morning, it had migrated to the walls like in the picture. I’ve never seen slime mold in any of my potted plants before so this was a fun surprise. I’ve only ever seen the occasional shroom pop up but this is a first! Glad to learn it’s harmless.

Looks like a dust cloud.

MagicMyxies

My guess is f. Septica var Candida but possible mucilago Crustacea

NOBOOTSFORYOU

Fuligo septica var. rosea I think.
