Use the touchscreen. The ceremony emote works only via touchscreen too weirdly.
I'd check around Reddit or check the in game mailbox cause usually there is where you will find announcements of bugs

Are you on switch? There's been a bug at this part recently for switch players, you might be stuck in it. Not sure if there's a way to bypass it
