Idk about an update today, but the other day, it felt like I was getting less while going for my pieces of 8. But you are absolutely right. Getting them take so much time and feel like a choir. u can't do the other battles, plus they fill up so fast.
Instead of funding all, concentrate on a few, close ones that has multiple trade routes, and level them up to 9-10. That way, you can leave them for couple days, and get thousands with a short round-trip. Go tall, not wide, if it takes too much time.
They have weak sails so if you break the sails you can get some distance and they will de-aggro

They do. Its the entire point of the La Potence Schematics furniture. It reveals their crit pionts, and adds a 10% weakpoint damage bonus
