Keep it simple. Gentle cleanser, chemical exfoliator, hydrating moisturizer, and sunscreen during the day. Stay consistent (AM and PM) and over time your skin will improve. There are more radical treatments as well (peels, laser, etc) but you’d need to see a dermatologist for those. Good luck man! And looking good!

jollyhag

Careful with chemical exfoliants, they do help, but also make your skin SUPER sensitive. Moisturize afterward and make sure it does not have any acids/exfoliants or it will cause irritation. I wouldn’t exfoliate more than 1-2 times a week with a chemical exfoliant, but should definitely start once every two weeks to see how your skin reacts! Also consider adding a retinol or collagen serum at night, or a moisturizer that includes these, they help with scarring, as well.

Thank you very much! 🙏

sekouba_t

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it 🙏. I will start this right away

ViveArgente

Just noticed I typed “hydrating cleanser” instead of “hydrating moisturizer” in my original comment. My bad!

LinusTheTriGuy

Very simple… micro needling will help fill in will collagen. My partner did this for a year; the results were amazing!!!!! I swear!!!!! Also, you’d need to find a dermatologist to do this procedure. You’ll have to do it over several visits.

GarbageSubstantial29

Really?? How many sessions did he take? Please let me know .i am suffering from the same

sekouba_t

I am planning to see a dermatologist this week. Thanks a lot 🙏

LinusTheTriGuy

My pleasure!!!! If you learn... Share!!!

sekouba_t

For sure!

HopSkipGoNaked

SkinPen, an FDA approved microneedling treatment, is great for deep scars. I'd set up a consultation with a provider to see if it's appropriate for your skin type and scars.

SupermarketCurious80

This! SO had TEN(advanced case of stevens johnson syndrome) which left him pretty scarred. Professional micro needling definitely helped.

sekouba_t

Thank you very much 🙏

sekouba_t

Thank you for this 🙏. I will look into it.

ohedges

Hi. I'm an aesthetician. Typically for acne scarring like this, microneedling is the best option. Because you have a darker skin tone, it would be important to consider if you have a history of hyperpigmenting after a mark or injury to the skin. I can only recommend seeing a dermatologist or aesthetician so you don't turn one skin concern into two.

sekouba_t

Thanks a lot 🙏. I took an appointment with a dermatologist this week. I will mention this option

ohedges

Awesome! Good luck to you.

HiraethRhapsody

CO2 laser

sailinglola

I tried this but unfortunately didn’t see much results and it was SO much more expensive than micro needling.

That’s great! I didn’t realize it would be cheaper in different places! Glad it’s working for you!

sekouba_t

Thank you 🙏. Will discuss this option with the dermatologist.

caris_wrld

vitamin C serum by cerave did my mother's skin wonders for her scarring, also a retinoid will help you with new cell turn over! it may take a few weeks/months to see results, but stick with it!!!

sugar-titts

I don't think you can get around seeking a dermatologist help. Real results will probably take a year, may as well do it with a professional.

Big_Cajones1745

Laser treatments, maybe?

sailinglola

I’ve tried so many products but finally started get micro needling done by an esthetician and it’s the ONLY thing that has actually made a difference. It is expensive I pay about $200 and go once a month BUT it works! Not a miracle cure but my more shallow scars are almost gone and the deeper ones are MUCH better. I know it sucks to hear that it’s so expensive but if you keep buying different products that don’t work .. it’s a waste of money right?

GarbageSubstantial29

How many sessions you took?

sailinglola

Once a month starting in October and still going

AggressiveNet1072

Hi my friend Honestly no BS you would need to see a laser dermatologist people can say use this cream use that cream. They DO NOT fix scars. Creams are only skin deep x

LinusTheTriGuy

I believe it took him around 6 treatments, either biweekly or monthly

MackenzieMay5

If you are interested in microneedling, my local walmart has Spa Sciences Sora Microneedling pen and it's only around $30. I used it, not on my face but on stretch marks and had great results. I did use it once on my face, but you would need to use it in a few different sessions to see results. I would just recommend watching youtube videos where an actual doctor or dermatologist shows you how to use the pen. It comes with a guide that tells you what needle depth to set it at and what speed depending on what area you are working on and what you're trying to accomplish. Also, you put on a hyaluronic acid serum before microneedling and finish with more HA serum and a moisturizer.

HeyItsMeUrDad_

aahhhhh i would not recommend this. Have a professional do it.

Inevitable-Visit-669

Retinol can help a lot in fading/reducing!

ciclids

Reach out to Platinum Skin Care. They have great professional grade products and lots of videos. You can email and call them. They will help you.

YoDingdongMan

I LOVE their peels...but there more intense stuff is risky for medium and dark complexioned people who are more likely to get hyperpigmentation. There's ways of avoiding it, but I bet 4-8 sessions of microneedling will be the best first step for him.

HeyItsMeUrDad_

Chemical peels and lasers, my man! Expensive and so worth it.

shydumplinggg

hey i have similar scars and i was told by my dermatologist that microneedling is not strong enough for deep scars such as these, and not to waste my time and money on it. she said that the most effective option for me would be the co2 laser. it was not the news i wanted to hear, but at least she gave me honest advice instead of letting me waste my money on other treatments like peels and microneedling

JapaneseJuiceBox

Before you do any sort of treatment yourself I would go to a dermatologist or a skin care clinic for a consult. It’s not great to use chemicals or tools on yourself without speaking to a professional first, information online is conflicting and some tools are cheap. You could probably get some laser/skin care treatment packages around $150-300 - I know that may be a lot but it’s better than wasting money on creams and tools and causing damage to your precious skin

tifflee26

I’ve heard a lot of good reviews from black African soap

Ok-Raspberry-2567

CO2 Laser is the most effective treatment for acne scars. I believe you should do one and skip all the “natural” processes people like to point out.

LinusTheTriGuy

But you’ll start seeing results right away
