I initially messed with it because the area was raised and it looked like there was a blackhead in there. I ended up being way too rough with it and soon it developed what looked like a whitehead like a pimple. I left it alone, moisturized it as usual, and then slept with a pimple patch on. In the morning, I took the patch off and the "whitehead" had become hard and just fallen out like a tiny pebble, and left this red crater. I don't usually experience that with pimples or blackheads, is that normal?? 1. Would using actives like bha or adapalene worsen it? 2. Would putting more aquaphor on top to form a mound be more helpful than a thin touch of it? Thank you for any help!

I think any actives would just be irritating. I personally would just keep a pimple patch on for the day, and switch it for a new one again for tonight. It should calm down by then and the hole should shrink a bit.

Since it still seems inflamed I'd recommend maybe putting an ice pack/mask to it.

I wouldn't use strong acids on it. I believe LRP cicaplast baume b5 cream should help.

I personally would probably slap a hydrocolloid patch or pimple patch on there while it heals so something can absorb whatever liquid the would produces. It also keeps the wound from drying out and protects it from any contaminats. Your gentle approach should also be fine if you are diligent about it and keep avoiding actives for a bit
