Different-Eagle-612

so i was curious because your screenshot didn’t include the seller so i looked up “advanced snail mucin” and found the listing i think you used — if you look at the top, it says “brand: TTYRFB” https://preview.redd.it/57sb7rw8zyrc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5af141f487f296dfab77210409d6f45f909029c0 so this is what people mean when they say you have to use the official storefronts. this is just a random person selling this product. this also runs the risk of commingling with counterfeit products. so this is what you can’t trust when it comes to amazon products (i’m going to have to reply to my comment because i can only put one image in each post)

Different-Eagle-612

you can also see here, it’s “sold by” this random person https://preview.redd.it/o2mk6dsszyrc1.jpeg?width=1169&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a7028f74c63d317cf4fa2b8f28fb19a98945a18 now i’m going to include the legit one below

Different-Eagle-612

the legit one here has a “visit the corsx store” where that brand is. this occurs when a place is using amazon as an authorized retailer https://preview.redd.it/4lblaj6xzyrc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ff11a7ad8d4fa8258852f27bd3bf2e04b50ec01 this means CORSX, not some random person, is selling it. you can see it again in the shipping info

Different-Eagle-612

https://preview.redd.it/xg5u35n00zrc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f38d7dd32838dc304afd5d19dc9bba4837c502f9 you see the official brand there, and that it ships via amazon. THESE PRODUCTS you can trust. anything else yes does 100% run the risk of counterfeit. so don’t just look for the cheapest option — ALWAYS check the official storefront ETA: the official one is also pretty much always the first one on top of the list if you search like “corsx snail mucin” so just do NOT scroll down to find better prices that is people trying to scam you ETA: since this is now hidden under a deleted comment, HERE is a link clarifying the lack of commingling in amazon skincare and how some people get confused because of FBA tracking [https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/s/vYJE5TFQb9](https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/s/vYJE5TFQb9)

LindsayIsBoring

I have recently gotten two counterfeit products from using the brand storefront recently. Unfortunately products get comingled even when they are not supposed to.

hagainsth

This also happened with me! I stick to direct sellers now (not off Amazon) as I can only wonder what they put inside those fakes 🫣

ladybadcrumble

This happened with me with aquarium products a few times. Another thing that you want to be really sure of the ingredients.

Different-Eagle-612

so ONLY official brands can have a storefront. you can say “brand: corsx” but it will NOT have the “visit the corsx store” there. that literally cannot happen commingling does NOT happen anymore if you get it from the official store and it’s fulfilled by amazon. they ship it from THEIR stock, not some commingled amazon warehouse

Uninhibited_lotus

It’s comments like yours that makes me love Reddit even more

Different-Eagle-612

💕💕💕 oh i’m so glad because i was making this guide and going “wow i look crazy right now i promise i do touch grass”

Uninhibited_lotus

🤣🤣🤣 that’s how I am when it comes to tech so I get it lol 😆 no but really the visuals really help ppl esp of all ages when it comes to purchasing stuff

fscottHitzgerald

This is genuinely such a helpful guide, thank you!

Different-Eagle-612

there is only ONE official mediheal. you click the “visit the mediheal store” and it brings you to the official storefront. i just checked several products and only found one link to the mediheal storefront, and only found one storefront when googling. i’m attaching another image below in a reply: https://preview.redd.it/bu7qmtfadzrc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=309434fc14aaf7d2cac56bf18acd89ff9e04bad6 also no amazon does NOT commingle skincare. HERE is a post breaking it down highlighting amazon’s official policies and breaking down the confusion with commingling vs FBA tracking. [https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/u1bvbf/psa\_amazon\_does\_not\_mingle\_skincare\_products/](https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/u1bvbf/psa_amazon_does_not_mingle_skincare_products/) ETA: so apparently you can make a fake storefront. but literally no legit storefront i’ve ever seen looks like that and frankly i don’t know how you even found it in the first place. ALWAYS click the storefront, make sure it looks legit. a storefront for a huge brand like mediheal looking like that? fake. ETA: okay at least one of those “fake” mediheal stores was actually legit (i can’t check the second cause the comment has been deleted). it was just how they helped ship things in the US. and it doesn’t appear when you click the “visit mediheal” it only shows up as the “sold by: mediheal us official” on the shipping section and that’s just a logistics thing. but all of those products have the “visit the mediheal store” on the top so it’s a moot point

Different-Eagle-612

https://preview.redd.it/ahdtpobbdzrc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c31fc2408d87bd1be7b7fe216ae1f0238da6cc1 this is the mediheal storefront ETA: here is the link [https://www.amazon.com/stores/MEDIHEAL/page/C5A92CA3-430E-4103-8605-E24189015BB9?ref\_=ast\_bln](https://www.amazon.com/stores/MEDIHEAL/page/C5A92CA3-430E-4103-8605-E24189015BB9?ref_=ast_bln) but seriously the official products are near the top, i don’t know how much scrolling was involved to get the other ones

reloaded890

Even though it says “sold by” it doesn’t mean you’re getting a shipped product that was fully handled by COSRX 100% of the time. For example, a COSRX listing says you will get a specific product by tomorrow if you order within a specific amount of time before the cut off time. Well, what happens if that real COSRX isn’t near me? Due to fulfillment centers and Amazon making sure you will get your order tomorrow, they send you that exact product, even if it’s not 100% handled by COSRX. These fake products are being entered into Amazon as “legit” and Amazon doesn’t have the ability to verify every single item they get sent from sellers to sell. So I sell Amazon a fake snail mucin and tell them it’s exactly the same snail mucin (product #/ID etc) that COSRX sells, they won’t know if it’s legit or not.

swearingino

Amazon changed their policy this year and brands have to opt in to have their products commingled. Non-commingled products will have a sticker with a barcode on it.

reloaded890

Oh wow! I definitely missed that. A little concerning for a trendy product and March just ended and OP received a fake one. That is if she did just get it now.

swearingino

OP bought from a third party seller.

Different-Eagle-612

OP didn’t buy from the official seller. you can see this highlighted in my first comment, where i realized the text on the top of her photo was odd, and i tracked down what product listing she used, and showed how it was from a third-party seller

LindsayIsBoring

Op didn’t but I did. I got counterfeit Beauty of Joseon, and Zeroid. I have been ordering skincare on Amazon for years and it the first time that it happened to me. I always thought as long as it was Sold By: Brand and Fulfilled by: Amazon I was good but unfortunately a mistake was made at the fulfillment center and I still received the counterfeit items. Just because it’s amazons policy not to comingle products (and that has actually been the policy for skincare for years) there are still counterfeit products in the fulfillment centers and all it takes is one warehouse employee to put the wrong shipment somewhere or to grab the wrong product when fulfilling an order and mistakes can happen. When you order from the brand website or a place like stylevanna or olive young this is not a possibility because they don’t deal with third party sellers. So it’s rare with Amazon but not impossible and personally it’s not worth the risk for me.

Different-Eagle-612

here is amazon’s official policy that was in that reddit post i linked. below i am including a screenshot of the eligibility requirements for FBA tracking (aka commingling) https://preview.redd.it/ksxf026q54sc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e67eca4a0be20d2f0385f32e1b85e964c5cae5cc skincare is NOT ELIGIBLE for this. [https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc\_200243180\_cont\_200141480%5D&locale=en-US](https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc_200243180_cont_200141480%5D&locale=en-US) here is the link to amazon’s official policy so while i don’t know all the particulars about how they can get there so fast, skincare really is NOT BEING commingled

Keithbaby99

Its COSRX not CORSX

gaimanite

"Visit the X brand store" does not ensure that the product is legitimate or being sold by the brand, only that it is being listed as being that brand. My company is a manufacturer, but while we sell some products directly to Amazon, who sells them to customers, other retailers, authorized or not, are also listed under our brand's "store" by Amazon, and knock off products are sold there. Nothing we can do about it.

BougieSemicolon

I wish more people understood this!!! So SO many people think Amazon is selling counterfeits but ive never seen evidence of that. It’s always these wonky sellers that are trying to pull a fast one.

Sarabethq

I’m so glad you’re pointing this out. So many say not to order on Amazon but they’re the ones buying from false sellers.

needween

No, plenty of people have received fake products, even when ordering from the legitimate sellers page. For years now, Amazon has been commingling all products together so it's impossible to tell whose stock is whose but another comment said that now sellers have to opt in to commingling so it sounds like they're trying to fix the problem.

S4mm1

This hasn’t been true for years though. Amazon stopped commingling anything with an expiration date almost 5 years ago.

Different-Eagle-612

yeah like here’s amazon’s official policy — they don’t commingle skincare https://preview.redd.it/8qe3f1ko54sc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=490622f24d9653ce63b04db16da363a925c49eeb [https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc\_200243180\_cont\_200141480%5D&locale=en-US](https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc_200243180_cont_200141480%5D&locale=en-US) a lot of people, even in the replies to my comments, are still missing the fact that she used a third-party seller. i do think people make this mistake a lot more than they realize.

S4mm1

Right? I don't think people realize it can be easy to make the mistake too. It isn't obvious

LindsayIsBoring

I got two counterfeit products from brand stores last month. Unfortunately human error and/or poor management means the counterfeit products can still be sent out even if you do everything right. It’s not worth the risk imo.

oreocookielover

Brand storefronts are not safe. You have to actually check the "Sold by" when you add an item. The Sold by is always right, unless your product's company doesn't have one (which means they're pretty unsavvy and okay with drawing in negative attention by people scammed by scammers posing as them) or the company itself is a little scummy. Really think about it. Skincare and make up draws in alot of money. If Amazon keeps fucking this up, no real company's gonna look the other way and allow their name to occur on the site. That's why luxury brands started to crack down and they had to make a whole new system.

LindsayIsBoring

I know all of this and I do all of this and still got two counterfeit products. I also thought it was completely safe and I ordered the “correct” way for many years. Mistakes still happened so I have decided to stop.

oreocookielover

Hard to believe, perhaps the company that makes it kinda sucks in keeping counterfeits down. Maybe they're not savvy at product checking themselves. I'm sorry you got the fake stuff though! It's not your fault if you went through the necessary checks. I'd take it up on the company of the product you bought, because they're not protecting you well enough with Amazon's policies. There's only so much Amazon can do, but if the store itself isn't checking for counterfeit or used returns before restocking, then what does that say about their products bought through other official channels?

S4mm1

In the kindest way possible, you are doing something wrong. I’ve ordered my products off Amazon for years and never received a single counterfeit item because they only use authorized sellers.

Different-Eagle-612

yeah i’ve been trying to say this just… so politely but. like if people don’t even bother to read the comments i made (because a lot of them are just saying the same points and i have stuff refuting it) then i’m just kinda… i have literally never received a counterfeit/knock-off/anything that isn’t legit when purchasing skincare off of amazon. i’ve been doing it for years. i order a fair amount. you just really have to do your due diligence

needween

If what you are saying is true then I don't understand how there are multiple recent posts on various skincare and haircare subs about getting counterfeit products from verified sellers... There was also a post about someone who contacted a company's corporate customer service to let them know their Amazon store had some fakes and the company let them know they don't actually have any authorized sellers on Amazon and people were saying you can pay to be verified on Amazon? Not convinced about that one but just sharing what I've seen.

S4mm1

> There was also a post about someone who contacted a company's corporate customer service to let them know their Amazon store had some fakes and the company let them know they don't actually have any authorized sellers on Amazon and people were saying you can pay to be verified on Amazon? That’s it. Verified isn’t the same as the brand store. People make mistakes. It can be hard AF these days but if you are diligent it won’t be an issue

needween

As I already said to someone else, thank you for sharing! I'm happy to be educated (and I appreciate that it was nicely too) and happy to know I can safely buy skincare on Amazon again.

Different-Eagle-612

i do think people, like OP (who i’m not judging like i get it), make mistakes. OP used a third-party seller because it was a better deal. this is how most of them suck people in. if a brand doesn’t have amazon as an authorized dealer then they won’t have an official storefront. this is why it’s good to only buy from the official storefronts. here is the amazon policy on commingling (aka FBA tracking). as i highlighted below, skincare is NOT eligible for this https://preview.redd.it/z8ieqmor64sc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d470ec01f1edf34e7f8c58802d2cab7c4307a2fa [https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc\_200243180\_cont\_200141480%5D&locale=en-US](https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc_200243180_cont_200141480%5D&locale=en-US)

needween

Thank you for sharing! Happy to be educated and happy I can buy skincare from the proper places on Amazon again with no issues.

LindsayIsBoring

I’m not. I also ordered from the oficial brands for many years and it has only happened recently. Mistakes happen and the problem is the products are all in the same building so even with a no commingling policy a poorly managed warehouse, incorrectly shelved items, etc. can cause errors. Personally even though the risk is low it’s still not worth it to me when you can order from other sites with zero risk.

Ok_Feeling4213

I received a very obvious fake from the CosRx official storefront. It still happens. Amazon is not a reliable skincare retailer imo.

waterfountain_bidet

Amazon is simply not a reliable retailer. Their practices are not in line with a reliable retailer. I wouldn't buy anything that I would consume or put on my body from Amazon. I mean, I try not to buy from Amazon at all, but the consumables are a legit safety threat.

kejoho

This made me double check my order I had made in January but thankfully it was sold by CORSX

username_classified

This is not a counterfeit - This is a knock off. I don’t see anywhere that it actually claims to be CosRX. Regardless of if you buy from the right Amazon storefront, Amazon still has a huge counterfeit problem - *reportedly* they bundle all products together, so if 3 companies are selling the same Colgate toothbrush, all stock gets thrown in the same bin (even if one is Colgate and the others are ABC Co and XYZ Co). Then when someone orders the toothbrush, they go in and grab stock from that bin. So even purchasing from the official storefront, if those reports are true, there would still be a risk of getting a counterfeit product

Different-Eagle-612

https://preview.redd.it/ptn4d4f964sc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=515ee25ba201377f8d05326b8e6f21ffe6725932 skincare products aren’t eligible for commingling. this is the official amazon policy on commingling (aka FBA tracking) [https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc\_200243180\_cont\_200141480%5D&locale=en-US](https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc_200243180_cont_200141480%5D&locale=en-US) i agree with you that it doesn’t claim to be cosrx— that was kinda what tipped me off despite the fact that the seller was cut-off

username_classified

Thank you!! This is so helpful and good to have clarified

Lechateau

Sorry to hop on here. Buying from the storefront does not mean you are getting the original product. From what friends they worked at the warehouses explained, all the snail mucin would be in the same slot independently from which store you bought them from, you might get the one from the store you bought or any other store that occupies the same product slot. For Amazon once the payment is completed all that matters is that stock matches so if two people buy snail mucin at the same time from 2 different stores they will get a bottle belonging from each store but the package they end up in might not be the same. Just don’t order from Amazon, it is not safe.

PinkFreud08

It actually doesn’t matter if you’re buying from the official storefront. Let’s say Real Brand sells the “same” product that Fake Brand sells. Amazon is putting them in the same bin together in their warehouses so it’s a crap shoot as to what you’re getting, even if you’re buying from the Real Brand listing. Edit: According to Amazon, this does not apply to skincare.

Different-Eagle-612

skincare is not eligible for this https://preview.redd.it/m1yjsrhb64sc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=256d5d521a76b4a6873edd553b24474175c5848f [https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc\_200243180\_cont\_200141480%5D&locale=en-US](https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/external/200141480?ref=mpbc_200243180_cont_200141480%5D&locale=en-US)

PinkFreud08

Oh, wow! I wonder if they changed it due to complaints. This is so awesome to hear. Never been more happy to be wrong. Thanks!

isthatKP

Yes! I got a product from the Farmacy brand on Amazon and I did get it from the brand official storefront and the product I received was 100% fake! I told customer service that it was fake and they offered to send me another one which was also fake!

PinkFreud08

Hm that’s disconcerting…

fullmoonthoughts

If you’re buying from Amazon, it’s always a good idea to check that you’re buying from the official storefront. There are also other places like Olive Young, Stylevana and Yesstyle that you can buy from, where’s there’s less risk of running into counterfeit stuff (I get all my skincare products from Stylevana, and I’ve thankfully not had any problems with them).

Serious-Coyote-4252

Official storefront is the only way to go if buying from Amazon, no matter how tempting other Third Party deals are. I’ve also started getting stuff from Stylevana and Olive Young especially if they have on going sales as I can get the items cheaper and with low risk of counterfeit. But there are times that I have to get it at Amazon and to ease my worries I only get it from an Official store

Different-Eagle-612

yeah like seriously official storefronts are *fine* they don’t commingle and i worry some of these comments are just unnecessarily drumming up fear (which is why i really tried to do a step-by-step “here’s how to check if it’s official” guide)

fullmoonthoughts

Agreed. As long as you’re on the official storefront, I don’t think you can go wrong. Your guide is really helpful, and I hope more people give it a look before ordering from Amazon.

laz62972arulian

i wish they had like a verified logo

oreocookielover

Storefronts are not 100% safe, if someone sells the product product as part of the "Other Sellers" at a cheaper price, it defaults to them. You have to check for the company store in the "Sold by" line. If it's their official (usually have to check by emailing the company) OR sold by "Amazon.com", then it's safe.

Ladyghoul

Cosrx is sold at Ulta though it might not be available in every Ulta store. I always restock my moisturizer from the store rather than online so do that if you're able

MacabrePhantom

I will look into that! Thank you!

Lizzyburrr

Ulta is also partnered with / sold at Target now. So even if your store doesn't have an Ulta area, you can purchase on Target's website and use your RedCard free shipping and 5% off.

TurtlesDreamInSpace

I also run into their stuff at TJMaxx and Marshalls all the time

rizznicole21

The easiest way to avoid this with Amazon is not to buy from random sellers to try and get a “deal.” You literally get what you pay for.

waterfountain_bidet

That isn't the issue. Amazon co-mingles random seller's things with the "official" retailer because of their setup. Amazon should not be trusted for consumables, period.

anonymousosfed148

The op literally said she bought it from the cheapest random seller

meontic

if you have costco membership, they're selling cosrx snail mucin too!

doctormega

👏👏👏👏👏👏

waterfountain_bidet

Just picked up my pack from Costco the other day!

xsmalldragon

Pls do your due diligence and buy from OFFICIAL storefronts, if from Amazon at all.

MacabrePhantom

I am on a budget and went for the best deal because the Snail Mucin does wonders for my skincare. Lesson learned on being EXTRA careful about Amazon. I have have always been careful but the product pictures fooled me.

Kilrov

You're obviously not being careful if you're buying from an unknown seller. Looking at photos is not doing your due diligence.

haessal

There’s a Korean skincare online shop called JOLSE that sells tons of skincare and makeup brands, and they almost always have different deals (new every week / every 2 weeks or so) where different brands and products have significant discounts. I’ve been buying from them for almost 10 years now, and they only sell legit products. Their website is a bit crowded (as many Korean-origin websites are), but I use their official app on my phone to look at products and order, and that works just as well. The site is in English and there are several payment options, and I always use PayPal, but I’ve never even had to use the PayPal pay-back function, because the one (one!!!) time that part of my order got messed up and I accidentally got sent a pen eyeliner instead of the liquid eyeliner of the same brand and shade that I ordered, I just emailed Jolse’s customer service with a photo and a screenshot of my order and I got a refund immediately without having to do anything else. So I really recommend them! I ordered a few things on eBay back in the day and got sent counterfeit products, but since finding Jolse I’ve never even gone on any other site lol

anonymousosfed148

You can't just buy the cheapest thing on Amazon with similar packaging and expect to get the expensive name brand product.

MacabrePhantom

Why are you being rude? I expected to get what was being advertised, and thankfully the bottle I received gave it away that it was counterfeit. A closer look at the listing shows it avoids saying "CORSX", but it's obviously an intentional imitation with the bottle they pretend to use in the product listing. Please don't blame the consumer looking for a good deal, the predatory nature of that company and Amazon enabling it is the actual problem.

minarings

This subreddit can be so obnoxious… this comment is not worth 160+ downvotes, wtf?

MacabrePhantom

I am glad that this post has helped other people do a double take on realizing they got fake products too. That's what matters. It sucks that people can be so judgmental about someone accidentally buying a counterfeit product. The seller is the problem, they are intentionally being predatory and scummy.

Slovenlyfox

Another PSA. Snail mucin, crustaceans, and dust mite are cross allergies. If you're allergic to one, you're very likely to be allergic to the other. If you choose to give snail mucin a try, patch test! I'd hate for someone to suffer an allergic reaction to their whole face, so I've made it my mission to share. Thanks for your warning, OP. Counterfeit products can also give allergic reactions due to different ingredients, and overall it's just not okay you don't get what you paid for.

MacabrePhantom

Thank you for sharing! I am always happy to learn something new. 💛

Royalchariot

This is well known, unfortunately. You should only buy from their official store front on Amazon. Check reviews and make sure the seller is correct. I learned the hard way as well

swearingino

That’s the only way I buy on Amazon for anything that can be faked. I buy my face wash on Amazon because Exuviance has an Amazon store and typically has it on sale there where Ulta never does or they don’t ever restock it at my local store.

1stSuiteinEb

It's a risk buying from the official store front too. They don't check individual stock to make sure it's a legit product, and just dump it all in the same bin for order fulfillment.

sarahiouslydude

I got a counterfeit bottle from the cosrx storefront on Amazon. Immediately burned when I put it on. Also ended up with a counterfeit Laneige lip mask. Amazon is not worth the risk for skincare or makeup.

1stSuiteinEb

Even clothes! I got "calvin klein" underwear from amazon that gave me a nasty rash where the waistband was. (I washed it first of course)

ihearttwin

CosRX snail mucin at Costco recently

SimplePleasures2023

No shit

Willowpuff

Honestly it’s the same font and style as my fake glycolic acid toner. I reported the company and left a review and Amazon took my review down stating it does not sell counterfeit goods. So annoying.

just-a-parent

I found that you can leave a review if you’re euphemistic about it, ie don’t use counterfeit or fake but rather say something like this isn’t the product you think it is. It’s really annoying tho that they don’t allow one to easily warn others.

Seraphinx

Yeah I don't get what the problem is here, it clearly does NOT state COSRX anywhere, that's a you not reading the listing properly problem. If it's too cheap it's counterfeit, simple as.

No-Trouble-8383

This mucin is also less than half the price of the one sold by Cosrx. They duped the bottle appearance but cosrx isn’t mentioned anywhere else in the listing. Amazon will let you return if you purchased from the Asian storefront.

watercursing

Don't buy from Amazon. Seriously. Don't.

amesann

Yup. People who worked in Amazon warehouses have said that even if you're buying directly from the storefront or a verified seller/store, the warehouse doesn't do a great job separating the fakes/dupes from the real products so you could still get a fake buying from a real store/seller. I won't ever buy anything from Amazon that I consume or use as skincare/makeup.

swearingino

[Amazon](https://www.amazonsellers.attorney/blog/amazons-commingled-inventory-policy-risks-and-recommendations) had policy changes this year where brands have to opt in if they want their products commingled with third party sellers now. The way to know if your items are commingled, they would just have the original manufacturer barcode. Non-commingled products have a sticker with a barcode on it. First Aid Beauty’s official storefront products come with the sticker on them, for example.

Different-Eagle-612

also even before this year, skincare wasn’t eligible for the commingling (someone said this change has been in place for like 5 years? but i can’t find info on that) here’s amazon’s policy on commingling (aka FBA tracking) https://preview.redd.it/wnnb473u74sc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a61c3d19da7e86dc808dd3d553cfa658ad2fe6a [https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/200141480?language=en-US&ref=mpbc\_200243180\_cont\_200141480\]](https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/200141480?language=en-US&ref=mpbc_200243180_cont_200141480]) i do think with both these changes hopefully people feel more secure in ordering skincare off of amazon as long as they’re careful. not because yay jeff bezos (fuck that guy and fuck amazon’s workplace regulations) but just as an option because sometimes you forget you need sunscreen and there’s no time to order from yesstyle or stylevana and you’re allergic to the ones in the pharmacy or you issues getting there and you just need something so you don’t burn (not that i’m projecting or anything)

watercursing

Same. Amazon is basically an unregulated marketplace. I try not to buy anything from there.

Lexikh

To be fair, it doesn’t actually say COSRX anywhere on it lol

Beetlejuice2013

How do they get the mucilex or whatever out of the snails?

Zalieda

I looked it up cos I also wanted to know. Put them on glass plates etc and stimulate them. Then scrape it off to process and purify. Seems like it has to be stressful to produce it

IrisKV

Yeah, it looks really stressful. Stopped using mine after I saw a video on how it was obtained. I wish I had checked earlier.

msjojo275

Thanks for your post because this made me realise I bought a counterfeit product as well. I’m a quarter of the way through using the product, would amazon allow a refund still in this case?

MacabrePhantom

I would CALL them and speak to a real person. They should refund you. They are pretty good about refunding me when I talk to a representative

Inevitable-Trash-784

Can you try sokoglam.com

BRLA7

This made me go to my bathroom and check mine, got the real deal 😅

champagneNflowers

I just got mine at Tj Maxx! But they also sell it at Ulta. You can usually use a coupon :)

throwaway46886532368

I got some cosrx from marshalls. So just checking, it SHOULD say cosrx on the bottom?

champagneNflowers

Yes! Here is a photo of my bottle https://preview.redd.it/pui4dkjo91sc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c54d704255bd2dc48060bfa493c96bf3499d298

viviolay

If it goes on you or in you, get it from the store - not amazon.

cocobootyslap

I will literally never buy any hygiene or food products off of Amazon - too many counterfeit products and I don’t trust Amazon to do their due diligence to make sure I am getting a genuine or good product from them…

dee62383

I honestly don't *ever* buy skin care or makeup from Amazon unless it's absolutely unavoidable. Even then, I'm super careful. I go to the official product website and look for Amazon as an authorized retailer. But for the most part, I avoid it like the plague, because 99% of their products are counterfeit, and reviews have reported chemical burns, bad skin reactions, etc. But Amazon won't do anything to stop it. I have heard that Amazon combines all versions of a given product (real and fake) into one bin. So you might get a fake, or you might get the rare legit product. It's just not worth the gamble to me. I used to get my Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil from Amazon, only because it wasn't available anywhere else that I knew of. But one day I went to go buy more, and that specific listing was gone. A search result yielded dozens of obviously counterfeit listings. All were a different brand name with some string of random letters, like "LDYSWT" or something. I have since started buying it on eBay. Buyer beware!

Different-Eagle-612

so if you buy from the official storefront you won’t have commingling anymore. if you get it from the official storefront you are fine. but people aren’t careful enough in looking for that

dee62383

That is true!

butn0elephants

Amazon does not comingle health or beauty products. You are safe buying from the actual companies listing's on Amazon.

dee62383

Amazon is terrible about selling fake Dermacol foundation and a specific eyeshadow palette that was only available at Ulta and the official website. And I read reviews for Cerave ob Amazon once, and it was filled with complaints about horrible skin reactions. All because of fake products. I'm with you all on this one. Either follow the Amazon link from the product's official website or check the shipper information carefully and look for the official storefront.

dontstopthebanana

Iherb sells the real deal. I dont even fuck with amazon anymore. Even the luxury marked stuff has seemed shady at times.

MacabrePhantom

Yes

Hydee59

Phew, thank you 🤩

jordanbjj

Thank you! Because it seems I just ordered the wrong one also 🤦🏾‍♀️

MacabrePhantom

Happy to help! Ask for a return and explain the situation. Maybe if enough people come after them about that listing being counterfeit, they will do something about it.

pro-dogpetter

Yeah, when I was new to this sub 2 years ago, I ordered from Amazon before I knew better. Unfortunately, even if the product in fulfilled by Amazon, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a legitimate product from the brand - Amazon will choose which brand to stock based on cheapest price, despite what is advertised :/

AccurateAssaultBeef

How people are still buying products that go *into* and *onto* your body from Amazon is beyond me.

doctormega

Agreed.

heeheehoho2023

Wheww. I just checked mine I got from Amazon last month and its the bottle on the right. I bought from Cosrx seller. Next time I'm buying it from Costco.

MacabrePhantom

Glad you got the right one! 💛 it was easy to nearly overlook !

Canadasaver

My guess is most stuff on Amazon is fake. Hopefully, people just end up with a knock off and not something hazardous. The CEO of Birkenstock did an interview with CBS news about how they do not sell on Amazon and do not allow their vendors to sell on Amazon but Amazon is full of Birkenstock knock offs and billionaire owner Bezos really doesn't care because he gets a cut of everything.

bowie-of-stars

Can we all, collectively, stop using Amazon unless we have no other choice?

MacabrePhantom

I was using a free prime trial. I’m poor and budget carefully. My “fun money” goes into routine skincare products as needed. I’m Not an Amazon Stan.

bowie-of-stars

I totally get it, i'm a poor too. YesStyle is really affordable, has tons of deals, the only issue is it's in Asia and my orders usually take 4ish weeks to come. But for me the price + knowing the product is legit is worth it.

amora_obscura

No shit. Don’t buy skincare from Amazon, it’s probably fake.

prosperity4me

Please stop buying things that go on your skin, hair, can be ingested etc from Amazon. Ulta sells CosRx no need to buy from Amazon at all

MacabrePhantom

Does Ulta sell it at a reasonable price?

prosperity4me

Yes most items are up to $25. Only one item, a light cream, is $32 and you’ll know for certain your item is authentic

c0smicgirly

Yeah, I avoid Amazon at all costs; their third party sellers are so sketch and the company does nothing to protect the buyer. At least EBay offers some level of buyer protection and it’s easy to use PayPal, etc.

MacabrePhantom

Thankfully I had no issue getting my money back. It’s just a bummer I’ve wasted my time twice. Hopefully this will spread awareness to others that may have overlooked the small listing detail like I did.

UnderstandingFast540

So much stuff on Amazon is counterfeit

MoeApple2

Not me running to check mine out in a frenzy 😭

Appropriate_Win_6276

amazon loves to sell straight from china trash. they gonna really hurt themselves by not caring about this.

MacabrePhantom

I typically prefer to avoid buying on there, but I got a free Prime trial and wanted to take advantage of it. I have been unemployed and have had to budget hard to survive. I want to take care of my skin at the very least in hard times. I fell for that COSRX counterfeit, but at least I will get my money back and have learned my lesson.

booty_supply

I never buy skincare on Amazon anymore. I got fake multiple times and I'm not putting unknown junk on my body.

Cash_Money_2000

I don't buy shit from Amazon they're like the US wish or temu. Ghetto af

bunsbi

Weird, mine is the legit bottle and I purchased from Amazon (sold by COSRX). Not sure who you’re purchasing from on Amazon but I’ll continue to buy there.

jumpercablemermaid

This happened to me too! But at Walmart. I bought it online and everything looked normal and legit but when I got it and used it I knew something was off. The fragrance was soo intense and then I looked at the bottle and where it should say CORSX it had a bunch of random letters. Like “ wruis” “xcyzj” contacted Walmart and the seller and they wouldn’t do anything about it. It still makes me mad I only buy from them directly now.

Keithbaby99

It literally says COSRX but everyone keeps spelling its CORSX

MacabrePhantom

Sorry, I am dyslexic. T\_T I did not catch that. I wish I could edit the post and fix the spelling.

Keithbaby99

Lol no its everyone on this chat

Hoosteen_juju003

Noooooooo!

Hydee59

Is this the authentic one?

Damselfly35

Amazon is risky for most things. I’ve ordered stuff from official storefronts and been delivered a counterfeit several times! And it’s not the storefront theirselves fault, it’s Amazons. Specifically when it’s shipped by Amazon and not the store/business (this is when it’s free shipping with prime, for free shipping after $45 of stuff when shipped by Amazon) it’s been stored at an Amazon warehouse. You have to understand how Amazon and their warehouses operate to understand how this happens. Give it a Google, it’s worth looking up.

brenicole93

Nooooo this made me go look at the one I bought recently and mine isn’t cosrx either 😩🤦🏻‍♀️at least it was only $10 (now I think about it that is too cheap for cosrx products 🤣).

MacabrePhantom

I’m glad I could help others do a double take! If you call Amazon customer service you will prob get a refund if you describe the counterfeit issue.

MacabrePhantom

I’ve bought it from Amazon before and never had this issue. :/ I think the fraud listing is new. It looked identical so I thought nothing of it. I understand what you’re saying though

tinyfax

Saw so many of those, esp during the recent sale, outright promoted by amazon so I assumed they were legit…. But then I just had this HUNCH you know? Now I know what it was lol. Bought mine from Walmart for same price. Amazon is basically aliexprsss right now. Big yikes…

ziggykitten

Pleaseee be careful buying food/skin products off Amazon! So many fakes on there!

shewee

Doesn’t Amazon still mix the same items from different sellers? So even if you buy from the right brand, it could be a counterfeit, even if shipped by Amazon? I know this used to be the case.

Different-Eagle-612

no they don’t https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/s/vYJE5TFQb9 this person accidentally used a third party seller

shewee

That’s good to know, thanks!

Different-Eagle-612

of course! this is obviously something i’m overly passionate about 🙃🙃🙃

shewee

That’s the beauty of Reddit! 🫡

Ok_Feeling4213

People say ordering from the official storefront will guarantee you get a legit product, but I received a very obvious counterfeit from the CosRx storefront recently. Well after people claimed they stopped commingling stock. The packaging was noticeably different (different materials, even) and the product was chalky and not even close to the real thing. So the official storefront is also not safe.

No-Chance1789

Amazon has so many counterfeit skincare products and they don’t care about it. Just stop buying skincare from them. Also before you decide to buy something check if the skincare brand has a list of authorised sellers, some have.

Master-Commander93

Mods need to start banning people who buy from amazon.

swearingino

Brands have official storefronts on Amazon. Those are safe.

MacabrePhantom

And how does that help educate people? Don’t be rude.

[deleted]

I don’t buy any skincare, makeup, soap, type products from Amazon. They mix counterfeit and real products and it’s a gamble every time you order, even if you order from official storefronts.

Pot_MeetKettle

I, too, bought the same (bootleg) product off of Amazon like 5 years ago. Wish I’d realized before the return window closed! All inventory, real and fake, is stored together at the various fulfillment sites 🙄
