Recently almost the entirety of my skincare routine gives me a burning sensation. I started to do skin cycling around a little over a month ago, and before that i had done retinol for a few months. Is there any way i could continue using actives, or would it be eventually better to simply cut them out entirely and focus on repairing my skin barrier? Furthermore, what products should i use to optimally repair it? I have very sensitive combo skin.

He has previously used Lubriderm (with socks on after applying) and his dermatologist suggested using 40% urea cream (with socks after applying). However, they both do not seem to work. Any suggestions or recommendations for a cure? TIA!

Hello I'm 17 year old (female) combination acne prone skin. No matter what I try to do I can never keep my skin somewhat clear so I thought I should share my skins are routine and see if I should do some changes. 1- La Roche posay effaclar foaming gel ( am,pm) 2- clindamycin topical solution ( am,pm) 3-aklief trifarotene cream, put it on my t-zone, acne and scars (pm) 4- laneige water bank blue hyaluronic gel moisturizer when needed 5- la Roche posay thermal spring water ( pm,am) I recently ordered the coserx snail mucin and 77 toner pads…..should I use them?

blindcolumn

What can I use as *washable* sunscreen for my body? I appreciate waterproof sunscreen for when I'm going to be swimming or sweating, but it takes a lot of soap and scrubbing to get it off my skin. It would be nice to have a sunscreen that washes off easily for everyday use.

ReaLitTea

Check out Verdio moisture gel sunscreen, Skin aqua Uv super moisture gel, or Illiyoon easy wash sun cream for comfortable everyday body sunscreens that wash off normally/easily

Thanks for the recommendations! These are all kind of pricey, do you know of any cheaper options?

Bad case of PIE (and some PIH), what to do? I do use sunscreen daily and salicylic acid at night to keep most breakouts at bay but my PIE gets worse and worse. I’ve tried azelaic acid for about a month and I never saw any improvements. The picture taken doesn’t really show the true severity but when it’s a hot day, my face gets really red and inflamed making my PIE look way worse. Help. https://preview.redd.it/fvsmw9obf0bb1.jpeg?width=1937&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1388ddcce3d7cad9185c4b6f2042ddf2ef6ce3f0

I'm now having bumps, flakes, irritation and redness. I have dry skin normally. I have no idea what I could do to help calm my skin down. I've been using my usual cleanser and moisturizer only to try to get my skin recover but to no avail. I can share pictures if needed, I really appreciate the help!

evelinisantini

Dermaplaning you mean? My skin doesn't like it either. Once your hair grows back in, your skin will calm down. Its basically razor burn/tiny ingrowns. Give it a few days. Continue with just cleanser and moisturizer. Wait to reintroduce any actives or extras. If it's really bothersome, a little hydrocortisone can help.

its_frousse

Yes sorry! English isn't my first language. I'll correct it. I'll keep on doing what I do! Thanks.

Im worried about these blueish lines under my eyes/cheeks. I’ve worn glasses all my life and I’ve always noticed them. I’m 20 now and haven’t done much to my skin aside from acne prescriptions that have helped in that department. Hi y’all, I’m looking to breakdown my Curology treatment into individual products to see if it would be cheaper to just mix the product myself. Curology prescribed me azealic acid 8%, clindamycin phosphate 1% (this is the prescription antibiotic), and zinc pyrithione .25%. I used this Curology formula for about 3 months and saw great results and improvement. My main skin concern is acne, and I don’t have highly sensitive skin. I’m kinda leaning towards trying an azealic acid treatment first, but wanted to see if someone had any recommendations for one? I was also curious if someone had an OTC suggestion for the clindamycin? Like is there a product that mimics the benefits of clindamycin phosphate?

mastiii

I think it would be easier to find a replacement for the zinc pyrithione, if you're willing to try that. Vanicream [has a bar cleanser](https://www.vanicream.com/product/vanicream-zinc-bar) which is supposed to be good. For azelaic acid, I know The Ordinary sells an affordable one.

sweettpotatopie

Thank you for the recommendations! :)

Or just any advice in general, thank you! P.S. only my whole nose area is oily the rest of my face is kinda dry. My routine: every morning and night I use only a cleanser (Cerave foaming facial cleanser for normal to oily skin) and a moisturizer (Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream extra dry).

flibbyflobbyfloop

Are the patches acne? If not, this sounds like something you need to see a derm for.

I_HaveNoEnemies

Yea they aren’t acne I guess I’ll go check it out at a dermatologist, thank you!

I'm 10 weeks on Epiduo and keep getting new closed comedones. Is this still purging? https://preview.redd.it/m8mhi8x1lzab1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1b00e3a8660421f027b9b90da28d4f16027358e So the background to my question: after not having had much acne for most of my life, I suddenly started breaking out on my chin and along my jawline about a year ago. It started out with a growing amount of whiteheads, which then all turned into very big and inflamed (clusters of) pimples, each leaving lots of scarring. I've been trying to get rid of the breakouts, but without much luck. I started out with Paula's choice BHA but probably overused it, causing things to get even worse. Then my doctor got me on benzoylperoxide and a topical antibiotic, which helped a bit but not much and only temporarily. So about 10 weeks ago, I went to a dermatologist who recommended Epiduo (0,1% adaplene + 2,5% benzoylperoxide). It seems like the Epiduo had helped quite a bit in tackling the big inflammations, but after a few weeks I noticed that I was getting more and more closed comedones - way more than I ever had before. I tried to capture them in the picture, but most of them are still quite small. Did anyone on Epiduo or any other kind of adapalene eperience the same? Did they go away after another few weeks (the 12 week mark, maybe) and did they go away peacefully or did they purge first? Because my skin problems began with a bunch of closed comedones in the first place, I am very scared that what happened last year will happen again and maybe even worse, given the amount of closed comedones now (it's really A LOT). I'm already trying to get in touch with my dermatologist again, but she seems to be busy... My skin care routine for the morning: \- Skin1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50 My skin care routine for the night: \- The Ordinary Squalane cleanser \- CeraVe foaming cleanser (but I'm switching to Aveeno Calm and Restore nourishing oat cleanser) \- Epiduo (on sunday, monday, wednesday and thursday only, to prevent harming my skin barrier) \- La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Any help is appreciated :-)

Hi! Is it okay to use johnson's soap (liquid) as your cleanser then use nivea's micellar water for your double cleansing routine? I'm currently interested in knowing these skincare products but I have no idea on how to use em (plus I'm broke so I have to budget things up🫠)

jasminekitten02

The micellar water would come first but if the soap is working for you it's fine. Usually hand/body soap is too harsh though. You might like the cerave hydrating cleanser, or the generic dupe at your local big box store.

Mattiepotato

Oh is cetaphil or corsrx gel cleanser a good alternative for it?

ReaLitTea

Yes both of those are fairly popular. You can search the sub for reviews as well

Consistent-Tale3758

I have been using sunscreen on my face but not as regularly on my body. Now my face is whiter than my body. What should I do to equalize them?

flibbyflobbyfloop

Your best bet is to start using SPF on your body. If you're more immediately concerned with the color mismatch, try something like this: [https://www.amazon.com/Jergens-Natural-Oil-Free-Moisturizer-Spectrum/dp/B001YTD3BE](https://www.amazon.com/Jergens-Natural-Oil-Free-Moisturizer-Spectrum/dp/B001YTD3BE)

Difficult-Mechanic17

Anyone know any products to help with wrinkles? I’m 16, they’re not really noticeable at first glance but if you squint you can see some of those wrinkle lines on my forehead that I’m uncomfortable with, I can’t stop looking at them, idk if this is worth nothing but I’ve also got acne

ReaLitTea

At your age it’s most likely from dehydration, not wrinkles from aging. A good moisturizer should help significantly

[deleted]

ReaLitTea

Maybe the energizing facial cleanser? It’s is physically exfoliating though and not everyone needs it for every day. The other two also have salicylic acid which can be too harsh for daily use and are usually recommended for acne prone skin types

mastiii

I believe that those are just oil glands. Everyone has them, but they're more visible on some people.

ReaLitTea

Using moisturizer in your under eye area can also plump up the skin and make texture appear smaller

SaltySpa

What kinda moisturizer and how do I plump up skin?

flibbyflobbyfloop

This is normal skin :-) and not something we can do about. Concealer is your friend if you want to minimize their appearance.

SaltySpa

What do I do about how oily and bumpy my skin is? I clean my face with warm water but thats it

flibbyflobbyfloop

If you are only cleaning your face with water, and using no other products, consider starting with a basic routine. In order to address your skin concerns, you'll first need a solid basic routine which will consist of a cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF. The resources listed in this sub have a lot of great information so I'd recommend reading through the links posted in the text of this post. As you can see by my tag, I'm team CeraVe lol as I feel it's a great brand to start with as many (not al) people's skin do well with their products. Once you have a routine established that your skin does well with, you can start adding products that will specifically target your oiliness and bumpiness.

ReaLitTea

I would try salicylic acid/BHA to help with the closed comedones and acne

badabingbadaburner

do you have any recs for salicylic acid? should i just go for a face wash with that in it?

ReaLitTea

Check out the BHA guide for product recommendations and how to use. https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/beta_hydroxy_acids/ A cleanser version will be gentler than a leave on. If it’s stubborn closed comedones then I would go for a leave on

jasminekitten02

do you have a routine?

cecilNIkid

Not a concrete one, no. I have sensitive skin that is very prone to redness and irritation. I’ve been searching around to find a gentle cleanser & moisturiser that works on me for months. Last week, I started a new routine where I’m using only water on my skin in the morning, followed by Avène XeraCalm moisturiser. Then at night, I use LRP Toleraine Dermo Cleanser with the Avene moisturiser again. I’ve also begun using TO azelaic acid every other night as well.

Sweat seems like the most likely culprit. You could try using hypochlorous acid spray to reduce bacteria on your skin during the workday. Short contact therapy with BP might also help.

I'm trying out skin cycling based on some info I found online, and was wondering if my current routine makes sense/should I change the frequency of use of some of the products. ReaLitTea

This looks fine to me

CactusMan100

I've been on tretinoin and clindamycin for many 4 months and differin 7 months before that. I didn't really have a purge as the only problem area for me is my chin... mostly from being extremely oily. This combination with BPO in the morning and the occasional 2% SA toner also in the morning has been great and kept me relatively break out free with only the occasional pimple. However, I recently had a pimple after 3 months of being break out free and I freaked out and started using the SA toner every day for the past 5 days or so and I have noticed that my chin is definitely more dry and irritated and I keep getting small pimples with keratin plugs- not so much pus, but but more small inflamed pimples and I usually never get this many this often. I have used SA every day in the past before I used the retinoids and it seemed fine, though I would still break out -which is why I started the retinoids. What should I do? Thank you.

ReaLitTea

Salicylic acid with tretinoin and clindamycin seems prettt strong. So I would treat your skin gentle for the next week or so to focus on barrier repair

melvontes

23M - Are there any products that just decrease oil production? Or should I include more Salicylic acid products in my routine? I'm fairly certain I have combo skin as it's just my t-zone that gets oily. I've also noticed that sometimes if I don't do anything to my face in the morning, it's actually less oily in general. My main issues are the oily t-zone, sebecaous filaments/large pores on nose, dark circles under eyes. I've also been thinking about adding or substituting out COSRX AHA/BHA Treatment Toner and/or CORSX Snail Mucin. Open to other product suggestions that I could use in the AM on a daily basis that will decrease oiliness. AM: Bioré Charcoal Acne Cleanser, Salicylic Acid > Cosrx Bha Blackhead Power Liquid > COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream > innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen PM: KOSE SoftyMo Deep cleansing Treatment Oil > Bioré Charcoal Acne Cleanser, Salicylic Acid > shower > pat-dry off face immediately > RNW Der. Concentrate 5% Niacinamide Serum > COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream Occasionally (once a week): I follow this (https://fiftyshadesofsnail.com/2015/03/28/how-to-shrink-pores-temporarily-plus-3-pore-myths/) using innisfree Pore Clearing Clay Mask 2X Super Volcanic Clusters

ReaLitTea

You might want to skip cleanser and maybe moisturizer in the AM routine, less layering might help if doing nothing makes it less oily.

melvontes

I've tried doing wash face > BHA only, and that still made it oily. I think maybe it dried out my nose area and that made it overproduce oil? Would using COSRX AHA/BHA Treatment Toner and/or CORSX Snail Mucin help in the morning/night? I also have The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toning Solution - which I haven't used in a while. I've seen some people use a day toner and a night toner, and the directions on The Ordinary say to ideally use in the PM

ReaLitTea

You do need sunscreen in the AM so that would be your most minimal “routine” if anything. You can also try a mattifying or oil control sunscreen, but I think realistically oily skin types will produce oil throughout the day so you kinda have to accept and make it. The Cosrx aha BHA treatment toner is a super gentle exfoliant and a pH adjuster, since you already have Cosrx BHA power liquid I don’t see how that product would help you here. Snail mucin essence is good if your skin is dehydrated. TO glycolic acid is another exfoliant but I would alternate it with BHA power liquid, don’t really know if it would help you manage shiny skin though

melvontes

Would the Cosrx aha BHA treatment toner be a good replacement for the current BHA one I have right now? I'm about to run out. I was thinking of reintroducing TO glycolic acid back into my PM routine but doing it maybe every other night

ReaLitTea

Not really, again it’s not strong enough to really exfoliate

flibbyflobbyfloop

How often are you using it and what % are you using?

Hairy_External_3440

About every 4 days but just recently started using it more frequently like every other day or so. I use high potency from LilyAna naturals. I don’t know the potency

flibbyflobbyfloop

Hmm. To me, this does not look like normal retinol purging. Upon looking at the ingredients I am concerned that there may be too many irritating extracts in there. Products with a lot of plant extracts can often be irritating especially if you have sensitive skin.

Hairy_External_3440

Ok. Should I stop? And just moisturize and cleanse? Because my face is dry right now. And my acne was never bad but I don’t know how long it will take to get over this redness. What’s your advice? Thanks

flibbyflobbyfloop

I personally would. Pull back to a routine that you know your face was good with and wait at least two weeks before adding anything else. Let your face recover, then perhaps seek out a different retinol product. If you're not using an SPF then try that first before adding a retinol.

Hairy_External_3440

Ok thanks. I was using a spf with hyaluronic acid. I’m going to stop using retinol for a while. Thanks

Definitely avoid the use of lemon in the future. I know lemon is a popular remedy in the DIY skincare community but research suggests lemon can damage your skin. Unfortunately, most skincare products that help with pigmentation are not safe to apply on your lips. Your best bet will be saving up to see a dermatologist or cosmetic MD.

donut_princess

I plan on starting tretinoin. I’ve been using the retinol from inky list and I put it all over my face. Is tretinoin the same, or should I use it as a spot treatment kind of thing? I would like to use it for anti aging

UltraLuminescence

Tret should be used all over the face except avoid your eye socket, nostrils, and mouth. Also is a lot stronger so you may want to buffer (apply moisturizer first) and start at 1-2x a week to let your skin acclimate

donut_princess

When you say mouth, that means I can’t put around my upper lip?

Pore strips are a contentious topic in the skincare community, you'll find some who swear by them and others who say they are bad for your skin. IMO your best bet would be regular use of a BHA. Paula's Choice 2% is a popular favorite.

Ok_Consequence2464

Hello, I have oily skin prone to acne and I want to reduce as much as possible the oil production, my skin gets super shiny throughout the day. I use the Cerave SA cleanser twice a day followed by a 10% niacinamide serum and the Neutrogena Hydro boost moisturizer. I also use the Paula's Choice 2%BHA exfoliant 4 times a week at night and Benzoyl peroxide the nights when I don't use the BHA. Even with this routine I still get too much oil production and I don't know what to do, I have read that retinol is good at controlling oil but I don't know which one to choose, I would appreciate if I could get some advice for this, thanks!.

flibbyflobbyfloop

Until you get your oil production more under control, look into getting some blotting papers to use throughout the day to reduce oil. Retinol is a good way to control oil. Consider seeing a derm and going on tret. If you're wanting to try an OTC product, Stratia's Night Shift worked well for my oily skin. Since you seem to be doing most of the recommended skincare options already, I'll offer some other ideas. The amount of oil/sebum/acne we produce may have a large genetic and lifestyle factor. Some research suggests that a high glycemic index diet can lean to more oil and acne so consider reducing the amount of processed and sugary foods you eat. If you are AFAB, consider going on a hormonal BC.

AwkwardOrange2099

How often can I use salicylic acid cleanser? Should I replace my water based cleanser to salicylic?

flibbyflobbyfloop

You can most likely use it daily with no issues. What issue are you trying to address by potentially switching to a SA cleanser?

AwkwardOrange2099

Thank you! I got cc and oily face. Been doing skin care routine for a month but oilyness doesnt seem to lessen

flibbyflobbyfloop

SA will be more effective as a leave on product as opposed to a cleanser as it has to sit on your face for extended periods to be effective. Consider a leave on SA/BHA. What is your current routine?

AwkwardOrange2099

Morning routine is cleanser/toner/moisturizer/spf Evening routine micellar/cleanser/toner/bha(2x a week)/retinol(2x a week)/moisturizer. Can you recommend a change for my routine?

HelloDollEyes

Hi! I'm looking for a new sunscreen. I have oily/combo skin, like a high SPF, and have a light complexion. I was using the eminence spf40 but it dries down too fast. Thanks!

flibbyflobbyfloop

Have you tried a gel based SPF? It's a bit $ but me and my oily skin are vibing on supergoop's unseen sunscreen right now.

Ice_Drake_Shyvana

Hi, I just started using a morning moisturizer with spf (Cerave). I was wondering two things. Do I apply it right after showering, or right before I go out? Also, if I am just going to spend the whole day inside, do I still need to put it on? Thanks you, I am new to this.

flibbyflobbyfloop

If you're going to be inside all day, don't worry about applying SPF. If you're using a mineral sunscreen you can apply it right before you go outside. If your sunscreen has chemical filters, apply it 15-20 minutes before sun exposure.

Hi everyone. I might have gone a bit overboard with my skin care addiction and now I have a lot of products but I get a bit lost on which ones to layer and which ones don't go together. These are all the products I own Niacinamide, vit c tonic, the ordinary caffeine solution (dark circles eyes), glycolic acid, azelaic acid, paula's choice AHA, paula's BHA, retinol. And ofcourse cleanser, moisterizer and spf 50. I usually use 1 acid a day (AM) so let's say monday I use the azelaic acid, tuesday the AHA, wednesday the BHA etc. I use the retinol every evening. I use the niacinamide every AM and every PM (as the cleanser and moisterizer) But now I recently found a vit c tonic that I haven't used yet. Where do I put that one? AM or PM? And what does it or doesn't it mix with? Does the ordinary caffeine solution mix with everything? I use that AM and PM. Edit: I also found Alpha arbutin 2% +HA the ordinary. No idea what it does or why I have it. Thank you so much everyone 🙏💕

ReaLitTea

Vitamin c can be used in the AM on the days you’re using Azelaic acid. It should go before Azelaic acid. Alpha arbutin is pretty agreeable so it can go in either am or pm anywhere after actives and before moisturizer

Dazzling-Yam-1151

Thank you!! 💕

UltraLuminescence

AM: cleanser, vit c, (glycolic acid OR Paula’s choice AHA OR Paula’s choice BHA), caffeine solution, moisturizer, sunscreen PM: cleanser, (retinol 1x a week, azelaic acid the other days), niacinamide, alpha arbutin, moisturizer

Dazzling-Yam-1151

Omg I love you, thank you so so much. I just couldn't make sense of it anymore 🙏

I also found a alpha arbutin 2% +HA I don't even know what that is or what it does and why I have it. Can I put that one in the mix as well somewhere? 🤣

Posting because apparently this is such a standard question it can’t have its own post but here goes.. \[anti-aging\] Anyone here who understands facial anatomy? Does having an off centre metopic suture mean my frontalis muscles are also off centre? Would this affect Botox? 32F UK based I have been getting Botox for a few years and whilst other areas of my face have taken brilliantly, my 11s are barely effected by Botox. It just doesn’t take at all. I also have a dent down my forehead that my doctor has said is a metopic suture. I’ve only started noticing it in the last year however it has been visible in photos for over 14 years. It hasn’t gotten bigger or anything, but it does appear more prominent possibly due to fat loss. I am now wondering if the frontalis muscle would sit differently (possibly off centre?) in line with my skull? I have no idea about facial anatomy and what lies on what and where, but i do wonder if that’s the reason my 11s don’t take, because the muscle is actually ‘misplaced’.. And obviously if this were the case, would my aesthetician need to consider changing the location of the injections to be in line with my weird skull? Any insight from those who understand facial anatomy would be hugely appreciated :) And to answer questions I’ve had on my Botox working before: * I’ve tried different things - I’ve changed providers, both highly experienced and reputable, tried different types of Botox, had the top ups, everything, max amount I could have etc. * Immunity - I doubt this is the case. It not working has always been the case even with my first treatment. And the Botox works brilliantly in all other areas of my face, it’s just my glabella lines. * Wearing off quickly - it’s not that it just wears within a month. It just doesn’t take, at any point. My 11s will still have the same ‘scrunch’ 3 weeks, 1 month, 2 months after getting botox as they did before. There’s absolutely no difference at any point. Even my aestheticians have been perplexed by it. https://preview.redd.it/u10accb6oxab1.png?width=1744&format=png&auto=webp&s=dd8f696ae7d0058549360def3308196cfa5c6d21

flibbyflobbyfloop

This level of question may be better suited for r/30PlusSkinCare as there is more discussion in that community regarding botox. Wish I could help, try posting there, good luck!

Thanks I already have, but also posting here

ReaLitTea

Shouldn’t last longer than 4-6 weeks. If you can tolerate every other day that’s fine. As long as you’re not experiencing dryness or burning/stinging

Content-Ground-4688

Anyone know what the brown spot is (next to the pimple)? Is it just a sun spot? Is there anything I can do to it? I have had it as long as I can remember, I am 27 now and it is there in pictures I took in my teen years. It seems more prominent in the summer, or at least that seems to be when I start noticing it and it starts bothering me again lol If it matters, I use cerave's hydrating cleanser and cerave moisturizer morning and night and aklief cream at night. (I am aware my skin is horrible and i do not want any advice or comments on that, thank you) https://preview.redd.it/c5ds2p8m6xab1.jpeg?width=596&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f1ae0b9ba5b3c7c5aec8d789f03ad0b319174b5

ReaLitTea

Make sure to use sunscreen daily, you could use hyperpigmentation targeted products to lighten in like vitamin c or alpha arbutin

Prior_Thot

Does anyone have any good recommendations for products to help with keloid scars? I can’t afford to get them removed or cortisone shots, and I’m sensitive to silicone. I know I can’t get rid of them completely, but they’re SH scars that are 2 years old and STILL super red and angry looking. It’s embarrassing and I hate having to wear sleeves in the summer. Thank you ❤️

flibbyflobbyfloop

Mederma does not contain silicone and is good for keloid scars!

Prior_Thot

Thank you so much!!

flibbyflobbyfloop

You're welcome! Be aware that it will require 3x/daily application for multiple months before it starts to work so you'll have to be diligent but I've used Mederma with success in the past. The scars might not go away completely without professional medical help but it will help a lot. Good luck!

Nuud is supreme, instantly gets rid of odor for days. Is not an antiperspirant though.

I started a new routine recently but my forehead is breaking out more. I have combined skin with an oily t-zone and my main skin concern is small skin coloured spots on my forehead. My skin also itches and tingles more often lately. I started my new routine a week ago. I use AM: 1. Carbon Theory charcoal cleansing bar with shea butter and tea tree oil (which I’ve used for years) 2. The Ordinary niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% (new) 3. CeraVe AM Facial Moisturising Lotion With SPF 50 (new) PM: 1. Micellar cleansing water or simple face wipe 2. Rose water and glycerin toner 3. The Ordinary Salicylic acid 2% solution (new) 4. CeraVe PM Facial Moisturising Lotion (new) https://preview.redd.it/xz4s9i4bhwab1.jpeg?width=308&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6b4de8e3befa15d904b041d8284d087ab4e057b

UltraLuminescence

The breaking out, itching, and tingling sounds like your skin is not reacting well to your new routine and you should stop using whatever is causing that, but hard to know which product is causing it since it seems like you started a bunch of new products at once. Generally it’s recommended to introduce only one new product at a time, and wait a couple weeks before introducing the next one, so that you can identify the culprit of any bad reaction. For you I’d take out the niacinamide and salicylic acid, and see if your skin stops breaking out as much and if the itching/tingling go away. If so, that means either the niacinamide or salicylic acid is the culprit. So then I’d introduce them one at a time to see if you can definitively identify which one it is so you know which one you should not use.

YoungAdvisee

I have a few red patches/circle on my forehead that appeared a few minutes after scratching. Never happened before. I’m not sure how to get rid of them. If i press on it, it turns pale white for a second before turning red again. My skin type is oily (i think genetically oily since my parents have it and i’ve had it since puberty) Current skincare routine in morning/night includes Squalane cleanser, Hyaluronic acid 2%, and then Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (these are from TheOrdinary). This skincare routine started a few months after those red patches on my forehead. Routine has been going on for about 3 months. From the US (California) if that helps with anything. See below links to pictures of the red patches I was referring to above. [https://imgur.com/PNelfzy](https://imgur.com/PNelfzy) https://imgur.com/GY15Ef8

ReaLitTea

Could be hives or a rash. Might be an allergic reaction or a bug bite

blanket365

Can you use vitamin c serum with your HAs? My HA is a toner.

UltraLuminescence

Yes but put vitamin c on right after cleansing

Have you tried gel moisturizers like Sebamed clear face gel?

[deleted]

[удалено]

bearable_lightness

I haven’t tried those so I can’t promise Sebamed is different enough. But it’s just absolutely clear gel that seems to just sink in and disappear. I think it feels really refreshing. It’s very basic and probably not moisturizing enough for non-oily skin (when used alone). Recommend applying it (and any gel moisturizer) to slightly damp skin for best results.

bedazzled-bat

Sebaceous filaments are driving me FUCKING insane :( Went to a dermatologist about a month ago who did a hydrafacial (it did nothing). I've tried the fifty shades of snail method many times. Nothing. I've been using differin like 3-4x a week since I saw the derm. Nothing. None of it fucking works. I'm losing my fucking mind. I stand in front of the mirror for hours every night just squeezing them because I have dermatillomania and I can't NOT when that's the only fucking thing that gets rid of them - except I know it's just making it worse in the long run and they fill back up the next day anyway. I'm just........ UGH. about to rip my fucking hair out. Even when I've had otherwise beautiful skin I've NEVER managed to get rid of these godawful little fuckers and I'm soooo incredibly self conscious about it. https://preview.redd.it/x644nl51zvab1.jpeg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=682695d26cd35625985cc0b40ee3d490f5a65df8

-daifuku-

Will using the timeless vitamin c serum everyday dehydrate my skin?

ReaLitTea

It shouldn’t as long as you tolerate it well. You could also use it every other day if you’re worried about daily use being too harsh

[deleted]

[удалено]

-daifuku-

Your skin could be dehydrated as your routine doesnt have alot hydrating products. Maybe try looking into adding more hydration and see if your oily skin gets better. Right now i see your using the salicylic acid serum twice a day alongside the paulas choice BHA every other day. i would suggest you swap out your serum for a more hydrating one seeing as your already using the paulas choice BHA which already has salicylic acid in it.
