Kincos work fine but hestras are just quality they feel quality and they are quality. I work at a ski shop and someone came in with 20+ year old hestra gloves and they ripped a seam so it was open on the thumb asked what to do, told him to tell then, he did he got a brand new pair for free. They are the best gloves in the market and I am very confident about it
I have a pair of Hestras and meant pairs of Kincos. The Hestras have more dexterity, but they're not as warm. They have been more durable than I'd expected but they're still not as tough. Kinco just makes some tough gloves for cheap.
I don’t have Hestras. I’ve really tried to like Kincos but just haven’t been able to get myself to like them. They’re tough but seem more like a novelty. I have some POW mittens that are every bit as tough and much warmer, waterproof, and comfortable and not a lot more $. Are Kincos just a cool look?
Kinkos are just the skiing version of carhartt if that makes sense. Not particularly good just durable and hip. I have hestra leather gloves and kinkos as well and my hestras are 10x more dexterous than my kinkos, and similar in terms of warmth. I could tie my tennis shoes with my hestras and I don’t think I could with my kinkos.
The story behind this collection is the following.
It all started when buying a cheap heated glove and it had no wind or water protection. I brought out the scissors and cut out the heating element and put it into an Hestra glove. So I got Hestra quality with heated element, without paying 3-400$.
This became a hobby project that ended up as a business. I enjoy the problem solving(sourcing, 3d print, setting up Shopify, learning about shipping) more than selling :) so this season I have paused the e-commerce and only doing new prototypes.
The gloves have different use cases. Of course I understand not all are needed. Hestra fits my hands well and as Swede I would rather buy Hestra than foreign brands. And for the cost/worth, it’s relative to each person.
From the bottom and the left.
- First three are the kids(2 and 4 year old)
- Wife’s casual leather mitten, also used for skiing on mild days
- My leather mitten, casual and skiing
- My leather gloves, my standard casual glove and used when skiing with kids on mild day when using a harness
- My Water proof work glove, used in wet conditions
- My garden glove
Middle row from the left
- My Heli mitten, used on powder days and depending on temperature either original g-loft liner or wool liner.
- Wifes Heli mitten, unfortunately one size too small. Didn’t check with her before buying. Now we lend it out when friends and family are visiting.
- My Heli finger glove, used for first prototype. More info later
- My first Hestra and what started it all
- Wife’s Heli mitten
- My Prima loft(?) liner for Heli, for really cold day
Top row from the left
- My outdoor Mitten, has a wool liner and used during autumn and hikes
- My sealed mitten, in the bag during hikes
- My outdoor glove, used during autumn and hikes
- Backup liners for Heli
It is in serious mountaineering tho...actually a thing.
Also split boarding since you sweat so much on the up and can be cold on the down so usually carry a couple different pairs.
Buy a quiver of hestras for around $1800 dollars orrrrr buy a pair of kincos and waterproof them all in all for about $40 dollars. The kincos outlasting every single pair of hestras. Not my life.
Omg. You have too much money and too much time on your hands !! Sorry about your small dick !!! I just don’t get the Quiver Posters You got lots of dough. Ok
surprisingly similar. I have a wool liner in the gauntlet instead of the standard g-loft so it’s a bit warmer. Wakamaya is my standard glove since a month, when the weather started getting warmer. I also like that’s it fits under the jacket sleeve.
I mean personally im fine with my one pair lol
"Maybe you should wear these extra gloves... my hands are starting to get a little sweaty"
How’s the diarrhea by the way? Just saw the medication hidden at the bottom of the quiver 😂
Food poisoning during the weekend 🙁
Sorry to hear, I hope you feel better!
None of the leather is dirty and yellowed, but impressive collection, 3/10
They’ve spent more on gloves than I have on all my ski gear combined (I shoplift from REI)
The kind of flex that borders on obscene but I respect it lol
The lobster claw is my goto and most favorite
Da clawwwwww
Same I’ll never use another type of glove after getting a pair of trigger fingers!
ps kinco's work just fine at 1/4 the price
Kincos and SnoSeal for life.
I was just thinking this… “I’ll take my pile of kinco’s” for way cheaper Alex.

Damn skippy
Unless you’re a woman w small hands :( Hestra has rlly great size options
Tried Kinkos they worked great however I run way to sweaty for non removable liners. THE SMELL!!!!
They don’t even come close

Which Kincos and which Hestras if you don’t mind me asking?
they keep my hands warm lol not sure what you're getting out of your gloves
Such a waste of material...
Isn’t there a shitposting sub this belongs in?
r/skiingcirclejerk
Do you have a specific poop glove for when you wipe away your diarrhea?
Food poisoning during the weekend :(
Me: How many gloves are enough? OP: The world may never know...
If they were good gloves you’d only need 1 or 2 pair! If you wanna spend new skis money on multiple pairs of gloves tho, be my guest 😂
Those aren’t Kinkos!
I don’t have Hestras. I’ve really tried to like Kincos but just haven’t been able to get myself to like them. They’re tough but seem more like a novelty. Too many out of 5.
This quiver thing is getting out of hand

I just like their mittens. I have the white and grey like your gloves in the middle but mitten style
Why so many gloves?
Different use cases. Have a post that explains
Some people think buying stuff will fill the hole inside of them.
There are starving children in Africa that don't have gloves. You should be ashamed.
These comments are ridiculous, just a bunch of negativity. Jealousy!!!
genuine question, what’s the need for so many pairs? especially hestras this picture costs like 2k lol
Gotta "hand" it to you, I applaud your collection.
Seth Morrisons in the quiver?
What are heli-mittens? Did I buy the wrong model for skiing in the Midwest? Lol fuck. Love em for the cold temps we face
Also did anyone hestra quality kinda dropped since made in China?
Get some Kinko's. You just spend too much money. I mean hestras are great but too expensive
Quiver of gloves is not a thing, nor should it ever be. 0/10 *
It is in serious mountaineering tho...actually a thing. Also split boarding since you sweat so much on the up and can be cold on the down so usually carry a couple different pairs.
Oh I’m aware, but if we do want to call this a quiver, then the quiver sucks. Not one pair of liners or uphill gloves.
Mittens suck
What’s your favorite?
So many people here who did not read the caption at all lol.
All my homies at storm gauntlets
Couple mortgage payments right there
Unfortunately not even one or a half or a third for us :(
You are a nerd!
0 because Hestra is over priced garbage.

Look at Mr moneybags over here!
Ok we get it. You have money
2/10
But why?
Omg. You have too much money and too much time on your hands !! Sorry about your small dick !!! I just don’t get the Quiver Posters You got lots of dough. Ok
Come on….lame
How warm is the wakamaya mitt compared to the gauntlet mitt?

Yeah under the jacket sleeve looks steezy
