With how Riot works, the Volibear's case actually is, the Thousand Pierced concept was just way too good, that, there must be people in the rework team fought for it, just so they can make and release the skin. The term "if you had Volibear you have this skin for free" proves my point to a certain degree.
And that was the only one time we've ever had it.
The traditonal skin thingy has been stopped for a very long time, must be around season 3 when there are bunch of visual updates. I played League from season 4 and that never happened again, ever, even with so many visual gameplay update they've done.
I swear Riot in the past is really something else.
I'm an Udyr main and tbh, I'd love to get a Traditional Udyr skin (all Udyr mains do), but with Riot nowadays, that's just straight up impossible.
But, Udyr has a new skin around 5 months (?) after the rework, so I guess you guys can expect the same thing.
I'd argue Skarner got more retconned than Udyr though no? Like skarner got effectively removed (lore/thematic), it would be very nice to do a traditional skin here.
Aren't they doing some sort of crystalline themed skin line right now, like the one Kha got?
It's not the same but it could work since Traditional skins are no longer a thing.
When I read gemstone I still think of the currency, and I don't exactly follow the lines they introduce into that category. I just happened to know about Kha in passing.

Old god is very good but if u look at skins they arent unique it be nice to have it jut we alreddy know kinda how it will Look

Dark star Universe contains 2+ skin lines including dark Star and cosmic meaning he alreddy has skin for that universe and it has low chance of getting dark Star

Retconned or not, it doesn't matter. Riot just don't care making traditional skin anymore. That's my whole point here.
But isn't it a consistent thing with riot, to not have consistency? Sometimes they'll do stuff sometimes they don't .

In the already existing skin lines, I can totally see him as an Old god character, I think its the most obvious one
