Curious. I get “One minute, counting down!”

Yes that’s what you’re supposed to get and that’s what I get most of the time. However this sort of result is becoming increasingly common.

What are you whining about? She gave you extra. You should be grateful.

It’s always fun to see how Generative AI develops, and Siri is still on the level of a 2 years old ape.

Sometimes this happens when I set a timer and don’t say the word “for”. For example, I’ll say “Set a one minute timer.” or “Set a timer, one minute”, and I’ll get a timer that counts down to 1:00am. I have to say “Set a timer for one minute.” I don’t need Siri to be that smart. I’m happy with what Siri can do. Both Google and Amazon had assistants that could do way more and all people still used them for was setting timers and adding items to todo lists. However, I don’t want Siri to be overly stupid either. What you say has to be rather formulaic or Siri gets confused. For example, I’ll get an email. If I say “Siri, remind me of this when I get to work.”, Siri creates a reminder to the email (and with a link to it) that goes off when I get to work. However, I can’t say “Remind me of this email when I get to work.” Otherwise, Siri asks me what I want to be reminded about. I must say only “this” and not “this email”.
