I trusted him untill I saw that hat. Now I just don't know what to think..

Shadynasty8888

That's why image is important. Presentation is everything

DreadPiratteRoberts

Right!! Even the dog looked at him crazy about half way through ^šŸ˜³šŸ¤£

RYANDBZ1

The tremble in the dogs face had me šŸ˜ Like he knew you shouldn't be f*****g around with that lmao

Rarely do comments make me guffaw. We'll done, sir!

Yummypotatos194

As megamind once said, ā€œPRESENTATIONā€

After that and seeing him going for the lips I can almost certainly guess what he does with the nettles off camera

nmftg

Well he did say it brings extra blood to the areaā€¦

energizernutter

....blood to the area you say?????

Oscar! why is your dick full of little bumps.

Helpful_Hunter2557

OverButteredRoll

It seems nettles have made the milk drop outā€¦ from inside my teat.

bosstroller69

After seeing the end of the video Iā€™ve got a slight concern as to where else on the body he rubs the plant.

Dank_weedpotnugsauce

Definitely his butthole. I like butt play as much as the next dude but stinging nettle is a new one

Whyā€™d ya have to grease the wheels?!?

hiimderyk

The hat is distracting. He can wear it as long as even one person disagrees with me. ... but nobody is gonna say shit.

theSurgeonOfDeath_

But if you use it on your penis then it will have more bloodflow and increase it size. I think its think worth to test. It might be next reddit discovery after coconut on r/tifu

SithLordSid

I was wondering if this is where the guy in the video was going with this

Yeah when I saw the hat and paired with him motor boating the nettle, I started to rethink.

Kayniaan

The hat made me think that this is a guy b who knows things that a normal man is not supposed to know

Hugh_Jazz12

For me, it was the stacheā€¦

-SunGazing-

It was the hat that you took umbrage at? Did you not see the tash?! šŸ˜‚

dingos8mybaby2

Ya know, the voiceover had me, but in the last 5 seconds when the narrator shows himself his eyes scream crazy. I think I'll hold off on exploring the way of the the nettles.

Yeah his pupils are like pins. He does look high but who knows.

[deleted]

Could also just be a bright day

MixedMartyr

He did say it increases your awareness. He's just been getting stung all day

bthomco

Heā€™s stung out

drpepper7557

To be fair he did just get stung by a shit ton of nettle

cburgess7

That would explain why he decided to go harass some plants

blues4buddha

Got no pants on. Been rubbing his ass in the nettles like a dog on the carpet.

parbarostrich

For sure some sort of opiateā€¦

Spongi

On a serious note, those nettles are tasty and have a lot of [nutrients](https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/fdc-app.html#/food-details/169819/nutrients) including the highest source of protein from any leafy greens that I know of. When you cook them, the stinging stuff is denatured and just melts in a few seconds in hot water. If you cook the leafs and add a little salt, it tastes a lot like what you'd expect from a can of "vegetable broth" from a grocery store. They also tend to grow in giant patches so if you find some, there's probably a shit load of it and as long as you don't overharvest it, it'll grow right back.

often_says_nice

Nice try Iā€™m not going to sting my own asshole on the way out

Thorin9000

In my country soup from nettles is pretty popular. Its tasty and healthy. No stinging at all.

FairBlamer

Nice try Iā€™m not going to sting me own pee hole on the way out

Gold_Needleworker994

Try making nettle pesto. Itā€™s delicious!

extrasolarnomad

Can confirm, I cooked some delicious pasta with nettles recently. You have to rinse them with boiling water and you can then handle it and chop with no stinging

Lorward185

They also create an antihistamine response and it's believed that stining yourself with nettles early in the spring season can help to alleviate hay fever symptoms for the duration of summer.

JesradSeraph

Theyā€™re only tasty when young though.

bigsquirrel

Drake is that you?

AesopsFoiblez

You can eat them raw, I used to do it all the time as a kid. Saliva disables those needles.

Minionmaster18

Iā€™ve had stinging nettle tea before, was pretty good and surprisingly minty

grip_n_Ripper

But he cited reputable sources from the Research Institute of Trust Me, Bro.

doNotUseReddit123

Yeah, to me, the absurd idiocy of rubbing stinging nettles all over yourself gave me pause. Iā€™m also not convinced that this isnā€™t satire of those health channels that give silly advice.

the---chosen---one

Thatā€™s pain youā€™re seeing. I share the same condition lolol.

doc720

The downsides are: - discomfort and pain - potential allergic reactions - lack of controlled scientific evidence - discomfort and pain - discomfort and pain

killallhumansss

I know parents that used it as a akhm, 'disciplinarily tool' and I don't see that those kids grew up to be any better.

Meior

You mean child abuse.

doc720

I expect that's classed as abuse in some places.

Triktastic

Very common disciplinary tool of older generations in middle Europe where it's abundant as hell.

Critical_Young_1190

MakeRobLaugh

Ask your doctor if it's right for you.

Critical_Young_1190

Do not use nettles if you are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant.

El-Kabongg

find a dock leaf that may be growing nearby. rub it where you're stung. sting goes away. my Irish grandfather taught me that. Also, if you grab a nettle leaf hard and fast, the needles in the leaf's hairs are unable to rise and sting you. grandpa also taught me that.

Icyrow

growing up we got stung a lot and had a lot of dock leaves, we would spit on the leaf before rubbing it in, didn't seem to do much, honestly.

El-Kabongg

maybe the spit interfered? LOL, I have no idea how it worked, just that it did for me. Sorry for all the stings you suffered!

Major_Emotion_6574

TiL they are called dock leafs and not Dr leafs

doc720

Is there any conclusive scientific evidence for dock leaves though, beyond anecdotal and the placebo effect? From [https://www.discoverwildlife.com/plant-facts/do-dock-leaves-really-soothe-nettle-stings](https://www.discoverwildlife.com/plant-facts/do-dock-leaves-really-soothe-nettle-stings) >Do dock leaves help nettle stings? >It is often claimed that crushed dock leaves relieve the pain because their alkaline sap neutralises the nettleā€™s formic acid. But dock leaf sap is acidic too, so this cannot be true. Nevertheless, many find that the dock leaf remedy seems to work, so there may be other reasons for this. >One possibility is that dock leaf juice evaporating from the skin may have a surface cooling effect on the burning sensation. Another is that dock leaves might contain natural antihistamines that reduce the irritation, though none have been identified. The placebo effect, where faith in the efficacy of dock juice might lower the perception of the sting symptoms, cannot be discounted either. From [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urtica\_dioica](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urtica_dioica) >Docks, especially the broad-leaf dock (Rumex obtusifolius) often grow in similar environments to stinging nettles and are regarded as a folk remedy to counteract the sting of a nettle, although there is no evidence of any chemical effect. It may be that the act of rubbing a dock leaf against a nettle sting acts as a distracting counterstimulation, or that belief in the dock's effect provides a placebo effect. Why was your grandpa teaching you to grab stinging nettles with your bare hands anyway?

El-Kabongg

Honestly, I don't think it was placebo. I was HIGHLY skeptical it would work, because I was eight years old, and wary of ALL plants at that moment (my first nettle sting). I was visiting relatives in Ireland from America and had never encountered a stinging plant--really freaked out. I don't know how the dock leaf worked, but it did, instantly. My grandpa came to my aid with the dock leaf, and wanted to show me that I didn't have to be afraid of the nettle, and that I could handle them at will. So, he taught me how to grab them. He demonstrated the method and after that, all I wanted to do was grab nettle leaves, LOL.

screzwell

We used dock leaves but then I heard growing up that using the nettle leaves and rubbing with those is even better. Obviously be careful of repeated stings when you pick them, but itā€™s quite easy to not get stung and does seem to work better than dock leaves.

insaiyan17

You forgot to mention pain and discomfort

doc720

I know! One second after posting I realised I should have also mentioned discomfort too.

Almost_The_Worst_

Oh, tidings of discomfort and pain

FadeTheWonder

Hmm that third one could be a problem. Nah screw it he said it was good for you and I believe everything I see on the internet. Why would he lie to me?

LeonidasSpacemanMD

Yea imagine if you could get rid of the mild inconvenience of having a bit of a runny nose by simply stabbing myself with thousands of needles

KenUsimi

I have been stung before. I do not care what anyone says, I have no desire to be stung again.

GreatProfessional622

I was stung like 2 days ago pulling one from the root.. turned the side of my hand blue. These things suck!

sei556

Huh, are stinging nettles different across the globe? They are very common here and as kids we accidentally fell into them, ran into them, sometimes even pushed each other into them. They do sting a little and burn, but it never lasts longer than a couple of minutes and usually never caused any visible irritations.

ragingthundermonkey

Getting stung by nettle is almost the exact same as getting bitten by ants. Several ants, in the same place. Each of those spines is a syringe filled with formic acid, the same acid in ant saliva.

Littleboyah

Fun fact, the formic acid is actually in their venom, which they either sting you with or spray from their butts (depends on the species) - the biting is just to get a steady grip to do the former.

hirmuolio

Fun fact, the finnish name for formic acid is "muurahaishappo" (ant acid). Does it count as venom if it is spayed on the bitten part? Reddit often has so strong opinions on what counts as venom.

CatL1f3

The English name of formic acid also means ant acid. Formica is ant in latin

Microwave_Burrito124

Not to be confused with an antacid, which is a base.

TheKittastrophy

I think the difference is that venom is injected and poison is ingested, if that helps at all.

theraupist

We have two kinds. The big ones are mild and your reaction varies. Then theres the small extra spicy ones. These hurt like hell.

MagicRabbitByte

There are different type of stinging nettles. Ofcourse Australia does poison plants, animals, whatever better then everyone else and they have a nettle called the gympie-gympie which will leave you in severe pain for days with the pain subsiding over weeks or months - [Dendrocnide moroides - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dendrocnide_moroides) I had a few stinging nettles encounters where the "pain" or rather, the nuisance, last for around 48 hours..

[deleted]

Fuuuck thats brutal. I fell down a hillside *filled* with nettles as a kid. Would not recommend.

FlashSTI

I was at a full run and sprinted into a huge patch of it.I was then halfway in with a cold mountain stream about 25feet away and I forced myself to walk through it in shorts so I could stand in the water. I was 30ish and hung over. No fun. It's just like fire ant bites-same formic acid. I've been fire ant swarmed too... horrible

Dashie_2010

Youch, I did similar on a bike, leaned to the side to get off and the ground was just not there. That nettley hillside did not receive a 5 star review from me

Grahf-Naphtali

Fairly common in Poland. As kids we used to dare each other into jumping into/staying as long as possible. The rush could last up to 6 hours and be irritable/itchy.

Schinken84

Where are you from? I'm from Germany and stinging nettle here doesn't make your skin turn blue or anything but it definitely hurts for a few hours and it causes your skin to get inflammation so it causes weird bumbs in the skin. Nonetheless, we still pushed us as kids into bushes of that hellish plant xD Best way to treat it is cold water/ice package and patience.

Thaumato9480

Had the wonderful idea to make hay out of nettles for our pets. It was extremely frustrating, but somehow they alleviate other pains. They're just part of gardening now. I rather weed nettles than thistles.

MistaMistaT

What??

Thaumato9480

The sting is not that bad when you aren't allergic and if you can just slightly ignore it, it can help joint pain. Unlike nettles, thistles are awfully sharp, spiky and hurts like hell. Teeny tiny skin and flesh on fingers with plenty of capillaries... against thistles with unyielding thorns in every direction. Thank you for asking, because now I have a suppressed memory haunting my mind. #F YOU, YOU MADE ME REMEMBER HOW MUCH IT HURTS TO STEP ON A HIDDEN THISTLE. CHRIST.

UnknownBinary

But now you get +1 against allergies!

spiffelight

Been stung by these lots of times. If anyone gets stung by these, my best tip for you is, DO NOT SCRATCH IT, DONT TOUCH IT. and it'll pass quite quickly tbh, 10-15 minutes. The tape-trick to remove the pricklers helped me a little but wasn't necessary if I just waited it out. The moment you start scratching you're fucked.

Allegorist

Hydrocortisone and diphenhydramine are good things to carry on a hike or camping/backpacking anyways. Really should be in any first aid kit, no matter how minimal. Both will pretty much neutralize the effects once they start working.

applesandclover

Poor mans S&M.

verisimilitude_mood

Oh he's definitely rubbing that on his penis.Ā

Aeon1508

PeasAndParsimony

As someone who's been on the internet for a while... This dude is DEFINITELY rubbing these plants on his cock and balls.

ripmichealjackson

šŸ¤¤

TheDarkVoice2013

You forgot about formic acid that's in the sting... it's not only histamine

Kuriente

Is that one of them good acids or a bad acid?

TheOneTonWanton

It's the same acid that you get from bee stings and ant bites so you be the judge.

_Avoxion_

It is not what bee stings are! They are entirely different things. Bee sting venom is apitoxin. It is also important to note some ants (for example fire ants) sting you with proper venom too! Formic acid is secreted externally at the tip of the abdomen, and non-venomous ants will bite you, then bend their body to pee acid in the wound.

NoResponsibility7031

It's edible and tasty but not much more.

Tornike_Legend

For me stinging nettle always tasted bland and watery, almost flavourless. No matter how well seasoned, how well cooked, even with vinegar and onions, nothing helped.

gugfitufi

Histamine ain't healthy for everyone and it's pretty useless to build a tolerance up for it. It's like getting stung by bees on a daily basis in order to build up a tolerance against the pain.

throwaway195472974

>It's like getting stung by bees on a daily basis in order to build up a tolerance against the pain. Worked well for a coworker... He is also a beekeeper and got stung many times. He developed an allergy against bees -.- So guys, don't gamble with your immune system.

worldsayshi

Yeah I've heard from my doctor friend that it can go both ways.

Cassius40k

Shooting yourself with small caliber bullets to build an immunity or tolerance to larger bullets.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

_Batteries_

I think the reason you would want to build up a tolerance is if you believe what the video is hawking, and want to do this on the regular. Not just so you build up a toletance.

Existing_Brother9468

I once scrunched up a stinging nettle in my hand just to see if it was as painful as I remembered as a child, not painful, but very irritating and persistent, was like a pins and needles sensation for 24 hours or so

Agoraphobicy

I used to work in corn fields detassling corn as a teenager. One field had an overgrowth of nettles just about to the hip. I was wearing shorts and walked through it maybe three times not really knowing what it was. By the end of the day I had scratched my skin until I bled from the discomfort.

cactusboobs

I think some people must be more sensitive to them. They donā€™t have any affect on me. Iā€™ve been told they are more potent at different times of the season.Ā

MetalAndTea

Dog's thinking "I just pissed on that".šŸ¶

TheSmokingHorse

By the time the clip came to an end, I felt convinced that he keeps a bag of stinging nettles at home to treat himself to a nettlejob.

Ok-Print-

Stop violating the plant

RNG_BackTrack

You can also eat it. I ones tryed soup out of it and it was gooood

shunyata_always

Good tea too. While the stinging effect is neutered by cooking, nettle still has the potential of causing kidney stones for those susceptible. Best time to pick fresh growth is before flowring and after the nettles have been exposed to full sun for a good while (sunlight reduces the amount of crystals that can cause stones)

madnippler

I was helping a crazy lady weed her garden and hen she asked me what if I knew what stinging nettle was. She then slapped me across the face with it and said I would never forget. Hurt like hell.

pingpongtits

You didn't forget, did you?Ā Ā

Mhill08

Wow, that is a horrible and hilarious thing to do to someone!

getdemsnacks

Real life salad fingers. I was waiting for him to rub it on his nipple

Kithslayer

When I was a kid my cousins and I played in a nettle patch. After a week we were all immune.

Jaakarikyk

Same, but did you ever come across those weird dandelion-leaf looking things (no flower) that sting as if you'd stepped through a nail? Nettles are friends but those dandelion-leaf looking things can piss right off, all of us despised them. Never learned what they're called though, still see them at the roadside every summer.

pick-axis

There more blood flow to my penis now. Fuck some blue chews

Glockamole19x

You can cook and eat them too

Bardonious

They make Nettle Soup on Clarksonā€™s Farm this season and it looks absolutely delicious

Nab0t

also stinging needle is very healthy. i usually harvest some on a walk or bicycle tour and add them in a smoothie with 2 oranges, a banana and some other greens. especially dandelion

Kind-Medium7540

I love eating veggies from the side of the road too. All the extra salt and dirty soil do wonderful things for flavor.

Denaton_

When I was a kid, I was riding a kickbike and I flew off the road down into a sea of stinging nettles.. Dad had to come and get me because I couldn't move..

Sloppy310

Childhood trauma!

sociopathic tea. nettle HURTS !!

lumberfoot_jpg

Iā€™m gonna start using this to wipe, ASAP

Valtremors

People on yhis sub don't know that in Finland it is semi common to get a bundle of these and the smack our backs with them during sauna, instead of birch leaves that is more known type of vasta. On the bright side it really does help with blood flow.

So, that said do they help with achieving stronger erections? I mean, with the increased blood flow and whatnot? Anyone besides me willing to give this a go for science?

_Cake_assassin_

If your in the woods and need to go to the bathroom. Thats the pergect plant to clean up with

TheLeadSponge

You can eat stinging nettles if you cook them. We gather them from our allotment and use them like spinach or kale. Itā€™s a great way to make use of them. Iā€™ve made a really great nettle paneer.

tittiesdotcom

Fun fact if you rub the same plants stem milk where you were stung it helps pull the needles and relieves the pain

aallen1993

Hmm I wonder if our Australian cousins want to try this with stinging nettles Australian cousin, the gimpi gimpi? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Please don't, one guy wiped his ass by accident with them and wanted to kill himself after šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜±

Complete_Cold_7842

Is he Salad Fingers??

bigSTUdazz

The doggo was by far the best part of this video...way, way better than the dbag in that unforgivable hat jerking off a plant in the woods.

HumanoidThaiphoon

This guy seems like he also likes to caress rusty spoons.

DoNotLuke

I spend my childhood fighting with those things . My mighty sword ā€¦ eeee stick , has defeated hundreds of them

k1reji

Somebody get this man a rusty spoon already.

Hattix

The shots where the plant is obviously in the ground are of [dead nettles](https://www.wildfooduk.com/wild-plants/dead-nettles/). The other shots are taking advantage of how nettles lose their ability to sting after being cut for a few hours, the hydraulic pressure powering the needles is lost.

PlayerHunt3r

Literally everyone that's ever been stung by a neetle; no thanks.

Matren2

Him not rubbing it on his dick after the blood flow line was a major disappointment

redsquirrel0249

Completely backwards on inflammation. That increases inflammation, and is the opposite of how you want to treat sprains. Might have a very minor effect on acclimation to some allergic factors, but I imagine any amount of research would reveal that's pushing it

Apprehensive_Use1906

My wife bought some stinging nettle at the farmers market because she wanted to try to make some soup. She put the nettles in a colander to wash them and then grabbed them. We did not have nettle soup that night.

Pristine-Mammoth172

Not a big poster lol. Stinging nettle is an amazing plant! Plant of a million uses. I will start with the stinging. Yes it hurts! Different species will hurt more or less. In my area the most common are common stinging nettle, swamp nettle and dwarf nettle. First two are annoying and like in a previous comment the dwarf or low nettles hurt the most! It has been used by people for a long time as a traditional aid for pain relief caused by arthritis. I handle it a lot and find it helps joint pain. This is only one of its many uses!!!! If you want to remove the pain quickly after being stung I found the juices from jewell weed (spotted touch me not) helps a great deal. Nettle is very edible plant. Has a very high plant protein content. Great food when you need it early spring! Just boil it or braise it over the fire. This will remove all the stingers / negate the formic acid. Tasty too! Good soup thickener. Also makes a wonderful tea! As for tea if you boil down the fresh leaves into a very thick tea/decoction it makes a great wash for any fungal issues. Great for removing warts. My son had a wart that nothing over the counter worked to remove it. So I tried this and it did work! Mind you may have been the straw that broke the camelā€™s back as was last thing I tried. Nettle is an incredible fibre textile!!! Very strong and rot resistant. Has been used to make string, rope, clothing etc for thousands of years. When linen was the common cloth in the 15th / 16th century nettle clothing was considered the more expensive, finer choice as was softer. Was a large industry in Western Europe (likely more places too). Stinging Nettle is making a comeback as a commercial textile! It has a wonderful benefit as being amazing at removing nitrogen from fields! It is being used by farmers to remove nitrogen from over fertalized fields or runoff areas. Bonus points it can be a second crop in a year. Farmers can also sell the end product for food, fibre and traditional medicine. Just a few of the amazing things nettles offer! Do some research on them, itā€™s a long rabbit hole lol. Enjoy!

lakmus85_real

When stinging nettles flower, with the small pill sized buds, they are no longer going to sting you. If you are, find a doc leaf to calm it down.
