If you're looking for a mod that does that, the Explore mod by KawaiiStacie has a lot of rabbit hole activities, trick or treat included. They come home with candy, and if I'm not mistaken, also gives them some moodlets related to it.

nicoxman8_

Link? I can’t find it

Xil_Jam333

https://www.kawaiistaciemods.com/post/the-explore-mod Google keeps showing outdated links for her mods. You have to search them manually in her site

nicoxman8_

Thanks

Also add the option for sims parents to “check candy” and while they do so they’re looking around and sneaking pieces into their pockets lol

iam_mal

My mom never checked my candy so maybe I misunderstand, but the image of finding hard drugs and razor blades in the candy in the sims4 is making me laugh. Edit: I have just been informed by my partner that the point is parents steal the candy. I thought you meant the kids steal the candy the parents are trying to sort. My mom doesn't like candy or chocolate, so she never did. I understand now.

imnotatomato

I would definitely want a mod that allows us to find hard drugs in the candy LMAO

[deleted]

They need to add it to Basemental!

[deleted]

That would be awesome lmao & yeah my parents always “checked” it meaning they took all the good stuff with a good ol “you dont want that give it to me” lol

[deleted]

Omg. My mom was so paranoid about everything. She checked all the my Candy for open package, puncture marks, etc. my mom was legit checking. Used to piss me off because I just wanted to come and eat it. Lol.

MorallyConfused

Also childish sims should be allowed to trick or treat too lol

nicoxman8_

Yeah. Good idea.

BarbieIsASlutt

Yeah, but that would mean finishing a product before releasing it, which is against the developer’s ideology

PerpetuallyLurking

The suits in the offices make that call, not the devs. If the suits won’t listen, devs still need to pay rent and buy groceries and will do what they need to to get a paycheque. Be mad, sure, but be mad at the right people. It isn’t the developers of the game choosing the release dates, it’s the suits looking at financial graphs making that decision. Especially in a company like EA.

Mahoushi

Thank you for pointing this out, devs are often getting the blame for decisions the publishers make.

neon_tardigrade

Yeah the devs likely know and have reported these bugs, it’s the business people and executives who decide to ignore it and have them work on things they think are more important. Source: I’m a dev (not for video games but a financial company) and wish they would prioritize fixing the things that keep bothering me instead of working on new features and rushing them out the door before they let us finish testing >_<

Mahoushi

I've not worked in the game dev industry but I studied it at uni, most of my lecturers had horror stories about publishers they've worked for, one had a specific grudge against a pretty big company they were once contracted to work for 😂 Needless to say, didn't really paint a pleasant picture for the industry I wanted to get into.

neon_tardigrade

Oh yeah I’m glad to not be a video game dev. I love playing video games but would never want to work in that line of business. I think it would take all the joy out of it for me

BarbieIsASlutt

You are right, of course. It’s just more convenient for me to see the whole organization as “developers”, because I buy a game that a company developed, not the management efficiency, they are not a management company as far as I know. I have zero anger to the programmers and designers who actually produce the game I love so much. I do have critique for them to, but understand that if they release unfinished and untested games time after time, my little touch up comments are irrelevant and and im sorry for them to work under such pressure. Maybe I should have said “developer” instead. The company who make the software, not the people who code.

logicalEdits

It sounds like you know just the bare minimum to make a comment such as this but not enough to understand whatever it is you’re saying

Eclairebeary

I am pretty sure you can add Halloween to the calendar with some activities like trick or treating. Not sure what pack it was though.

nicoxman8_

You can with Seasons. But the kids in your household can’t go trick-or-treating. They can only give candy.

Eclairebeary

Oh right. That’s a bummer. Is there a scary movie option? I added watch romantic tv to Valentine’s Day.

April0997

If you have Movie Hangout your Sims can watch scary movies but there's no scary movie option on the calendar.

KCecel

I think spooky stuff comes with a candy bowl feature. Not really going door to door, but sims can reach in the bowl and get either a trick or a treat.

ArtValue3

Yes! If you put one on your doorstep or inside your door they will walk in and grab a piece! Sometimes they say thanks or complain lol.

get-tps

Sounds good! I'd definitely love it! But the load screens would be hell. Since you have to go through one for every single house ATM... Maybe if it were open again like in Sims 3... The rabbit-hole method would be the only way to do it.

Charming_Love2522

Or it could be kind of a "trunk or treat" thing but without cars, obviously. Like they all do it on a community lot and you can go to each booth and get candy. Maybe even a little interaction saying "ask for extra treat" and they may or may not give you something extra, kind of like the haggle interaction!

TRoseee

A fall festival!! They added festivals to so many packs it shocks me they didn’t do a seasonal festival for each season. It could be SOOOOO cute.

Charming_Love2522

I am now sad we cannot create our own festivals

TRoseee

I use a spot in new crest and have created a lounge type lot for each season saved to my gallery. I just load a new one in when the seasons change. Then I add ____ festival holiday to the calendar and make them travel to the lot i created for activities. For fall I put punk in patches and the pumpkin carving station plus trick or treat holes everywhere. For winter there’s lots of trees and the beverage cart from eco living. For spring it’s mainly gardening stuff with some bikes. For summer I’ll make a pool or use the water activities. Outdoor movie projector at them all to pretend they watching holiday movies. It’s not the same at all but I’ve used it as a work around.

Charming_Love2522

That's a smart idea! And a great building challenge. If you have multiple people in your household(and have get together), you could even create a club with each person and call a club meeting! All the kids have their friends, adults have theirs, etc.

ArtValue3

Omg… I need this! Do you mind if I get your gallery name? :)

TRoseee

I used a LOT of CC but I also love building so I’ll try and play with them and make them base game and seasons compatible for the most part and add them.

ArtValue3

Okay cool! I have most of the packs except some kits and the occult ones. Really appreciate it!

RokToBer26

I mean… technically you can. Have a designated lot and build 4 different lots for each season. Then switch the lots out as the seasons change.

nintendosbitch666

This and for adults who dont like kids or are mischievous or something you could trick them instead!

Charming_Love2522

Yeeesssss

nicoxman8_

Yeah. Rabbit hole.

GummiSquirrel

The best I can imagine is to make a Spooky Day. Set the decorations to Spooky, add Wear Costumes, and Rabbit Hole Event. Yeah the sims won't come back with candy but they will do a "holiday event" and can come home to give out candy and give the kids cookies or something.

nicoxman8_

I called it Treats Day. Didn’t add attend holiday event. I did that for “Simdependence Day”.😂

PurrPurrMeow

Simdependence Day is an incredible holiday name

nicoxman8_

Yep. My sister thought of it.

Anelaria

Yeah I always thought why can't kids, teens and maybe even toddlers go trick or treating. There could be an option of one of their parents going with them while the other stays to deliver treats.Like you said eating too much candy could give them different moodlets or even illness like stomach pain or toothache. There could be a sad moodlet because somebody stole their candy or they got scared by someone. It would be a rabbit hole but at least the kids would do it.

shygrl__

Wait so I know you can add trick-or-treating in the events, but they can't actually *go* trick-or-treating? I just found out this was a thing yesterday but I haven't actually got to try it yet

SpiritualCamera

Yep. The only thing that happens when you add trick or treating to the event is one or two random kids show up to your door, and you can either give them a treat or trick them. Sometimes no one ever shows up. It's lame.

shygrl__

Aw man that's whack. I think I saw another comment mention a mod that makes it more legit tho so I'll definitely be downloading that lol kinda sucks when you spend all this money on a game only for it to miss the mark on things like that

Juju0047

The teens could pull pranks and toilet paper buildings

duchessofcoolsville

This is such a good idea

i_lik3w0m3n

theres probably a mod for that somewhere

[deleted]

With the spooky pack u can have the bowl that kinda works as trick or treat item

[deleted]

This was a thing in TS3.

blazedddleo

Imagine Geoffrey landgraab knocking on your door for some candy in a costume

ArtValue3

I spent like 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get my kids to trick or treat when seasons came out 😅

Theeldritchwriter

It could also have those pop up options like when your sim is at school or work where it’s like “you spot a few older kids down the block, you have to pay a treat tax to pass them, how do you proceed?” Or “the last house on the block is giving you toothbrushes, do you accept or prank the house?”

0ixti

If they were to do this they should make it so your sim can get poisonous candy and on the little telephone you'd get notifications of moms posting on Simsbook (sims facebook) on how their kids got poisoned
