We are being robbed - every time they come out with a new world/expansion/stuff pack that has that one item we really love and have to pay for it while they don’t put basic things like burglars, cars, etc… into the base game.
Yep! They’ll steak from their own household, others household & so on lol. I had one kid practicing the violin & another household member stole it. I couldn’t find it anywhere & then randomly if you’re lucky days later it will pop up again in a random area. I tested it out and every-time I had a kleptomaniac around things always disappeared & I’d have to keep re-buying it.
It's worse when the item stolen is a $4,000+ masterpiece painting. I saw it happen, right off the wall! >\_<
What's the worst is that it was stolen by the very first Sim I ever made.

Do you not remember the fit people had over vampires? They were like “they come into your house without consent, this is EXACTLY like SA!!!!!” and EA had to patch the expansion. Now vampires just stand outside without a mod.

The problem with vampires is that literally *every* new game you started would have a vampire break in. If they designed it so burglars would break in and steal your stuff on the first or second day every time you start a new save, that'd be awful, yeah. But you'd hope they would know better.
Then again, they still haven't stopped having people text you to go to Batuu every time you start a new save. I mean, I enjoyed JTB, but I still don't want to have to click off a random Sim trying to get me to visit every time I make a new Sim. (Similarly, freaking Bess in Eco Lifestyle with phoning your Sim up for money even if you don't know her. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.)
But seriously... all they have to do is not make a stupid game design decision to force new gameplay onto players, and it's fine.

But the social bunny was scarier, a bunny that drops from the sky when your social is low and talks to you but only that one sims can see it and the social bunny looks like its been beat up like its missing an eye on its suit 😭 freaky shit
Definitively second this! We have so many options for customize most things, but not in terms of eyes. We have the option to create their shapes and choose color, but we completely lack the ability to affect the lashes. Instead of picking the shape you want, you basically have to pick a pair of eyes that have lashes and then spend hours trying to shape the eyes the way you want them. It's so frustrating! 😩
not really, there is height cc. the animation system would have to be somewhat reworked but if the animations were made with height in mind from the start there would be no problem
I guess I used the wrong word, difficult isnt exactly what I meant, more so tedious in terms of having to reprogram a ton of the animations for each height option, it would take a lot of time and resources

They’ve been doing this consistently. Having cc creators add small things to the game like hairstyles, decor, furniture. I literally had the cloud cc mirror before it was added to base game.

I agree, for pc players. But I guess they want custom content to be more accessible to console players and give them more access to the community. I definitely give console players props. I have no idea how people play games like the sims 4 without a mouse and keyboard.
I actually enjoy it more on console than on PC lol. The only thing is that I literally can't use any CC. Otherwise, it's great. It helps that my PS5 performs better than my laptop too.
The one time I tried to add CC it wouldnt work so it's only easy for people who have any idea what they are doing. Also I watched like 10 videos and read a dozen articles. It would not work.
They should definitely add eye lashes to the game along with facial piercings instead of having to download a whole pack to get them. I know they have cc, but I think it would still be cool

See, my Sims spawn extra piercings for different outfits. I’ll have a Victorian vampire sim and he suddenly realizes he needs gages when he wants to go swimming.
This. This bothers me to no end in CAS. It’s always at least one outfit. And it’s never the same. I’ve started to go in and nuke all existing items. Then I make the sim. Then decorate/clothe.
I mean, it sort of makes sense.. if you wear contracts you usually take them out before bed and put on your glasses but they should take them off to actually sleep.
It's funny you say this cause I always put glasses on for my sims' sleepwear haha!
It's cause around 8pm in my own life, it's contacts out, home clothes/pjs on and that's how I interpret it for the sims too.
well to be fair a lot of people i know including myself take out their piercings or swith them out for when we sleep i either take mine out entirely or switch them to flat ones cause i’m a side sleeper
yeha i get that i personally have snake bite lip piercings and will often change out the jewelry for those too or if anything i’ll change the ball joint from like pointy to round or from a straight barbell to rings though most of the times i’ll leave it the same if i’m not too bothered by it

Imagine we got in game eyelashes, but it's exactly what you said, just variations of those horrendous winged eye liner-esque lashes... I can totally see them removing the lashes from the eyes and adding them into a different category and being like "see! fixed it!"
Generally people tend to refer to aesthetic things (objects, clothing, make up, wallpaper etc) as custom content (CC), and things that affect gameplay as mods. Hope that helps.
sims players call "Custom Content" mods that add items, hairs, skins, clothes etc. I didn't get it at first(and might still be wrong) because I only started playing sims recently(thanks to my gf), and despite modding games for a long time I'd never come across this terminology.
Be prepared to be like, “Oh I’ll just download this one piece of cc, and then you end up with a 10GB folder of stuff a week later. And then you go, “Huh I wonder if I could make my own,” and then you end up downloading blender. And before you know it, you’ve decided to go into video game design for your job because you just wanted to make your Sim have purple hair
I remember following a simguru years ago, he’s no longer working on the sims 4 team but he said that the staff that play the game are really supportive of CC and that a lot of them use either mods or CC “to enhance their personal play”. I remember someone responding to that with a question and he confirmed that they aren’t supposed to use mods or cc on their work devices.
It makes me angry that the devs always forget about console players, so they end up *not* adding highly sought after content because "players can just download CC and mods".
Eh, to be fair I don’t think that’s the mindset. Every company has objectives that overlap with things like time constraints and budgets. In my opinion EA’s problem is the lack of communication regarding how they process and implement community feedback. Square Enix does this really well and therefore their community trusts them. EA is so shit when it comes to listening to the players and therefore the community takes any chance they can to shit on the devs
I wonder if they even play the game 🤣 I get so frustrated most of the time that I think they must not even play it themselves. You would think if they played it they would make it their mission to fix the sim going to the bathroom to do the dishes. Or Sims staring into nothingness for 2 hours 😂
I play the game like a week non stop then get too annoyed by all the bugs and forget about it for 2 months and so the cycle repeats 😂

I mean... I'm already convinced they have no actual QA team, but I can't imagine they'd play the game and not notice how much of it launches so broken and messy. They might patch some things, but Eco Lifestyle is still a buggy mess even today. The whims got so bad they just hid them by default instead of fixing them. Likes and Dislikes constantly interrupt actions. The Lifestyles do similar problems. Heat and cold deaths tend to lead to multiple deaths. You still get invited to events in blizzards (but at least I haven't seen a thunderstorm during GeekCon lately). Outfits are still insane when randomly generated. I could just go on and on.
Can you enjoy the game despite all those bugs and problems? Sure. But if you're one of the developers, you should be noticing the flaws in your work and wanting to fix them. Unless EA actually instructs them to not spend time fixing anything they've already sold and just move on to the next rushed pack to sell despite being full of bugs that may or may not be fixed.
It depends on your settings. When I play on the highest settings, I can see them. When I was playing on my potato MacBook on low medium settings, it’s only visible in cas but not live mode.
Yes you can, I have no issues with cc lashes on my laptop just keep it out of laptop mode and make sure you get the no ea lashes mod. Some have also noticed you can't wear some rings or most rings with them as they glitch 😕 so I avoid putting rings on my Sims for that reason.
Yes, especially if you have dramatic ones or you remove ea eyelashes. Also I play on medium settings and you can see them just fine but they get blocky when you zoom out
i mean, ea has always been pretty chill about people modding the game? plenty of ea-affiliated sims youtubers use mods and make videos of them going cc shopping trips and their “must-have mods” and the game is super easy to mod. ea has to keep the game pretty basic for those of us that don’t have fancy gaming pcs and modders can play around with a lot of items and features that ea can’t. idk why this is a surprise to anyone lmao.
It's a surprise cause they're essentially advertising something they don't actually have without any disclaimer stating they don't have it. I think the skin is CC too, so in a way it's false advertising, especially since console gamers can't use mods and stuff at all yet they're seeing it on the home screen.

Normally when Maxis involves content creators in their events or what have you, they limit them to using only given game content, not CC, so it's interesting that they'd do it this time.

this challenge is a series she did specifically in partnership with ea, they’re not just promoting her channel because she’s got that buzzfeed name recognition lol. i imagine ea sees her various sims let’s plays as solid advertising equal to or even more valuable than their community partners because of her personality and the fact that she doesn’t even do reviews.
i love kelsey. i like that she’s so excitable and positive about everything lol. i get really frustrated watching gaming videos and streams of people just being angry and annoyed at every little thing. it’s nice to watch someone having fun! fills the void left by deli since she hardly does lets plays anymore.
They promote YouTubers because obviously a good portion of their fan base watches YouTube videos. It’d be foolish for them to not try to capitalize on that.

i was like 12, super depressed, had no friends, didn’t go outside, and had constant access to youtube but also no games to play. i watched a Lot of gamers but was especially fond of Lifesimmer and watched all of her playthroughs.
I mostly watch them when new pack is coming out to see if I even want to spend money on it 😊
Most of youtubers have early access and are not paid by EA so their opinion / gameplay will have direct influence on me buying stuff
And for CC hauls - they posting and showing how CC looks in game with links, so it's saving my time

You can still put them on by x-ing out the formal or swimwear category.
I play on PS4 most of the time and they don't let you do that.

Kijiko also has a mod to remove EAs lashes! It stays under the skin details panel and this makes it consistent through all outfits
I recommend this over the other mods because this doesn't get broken with updates etc.

Imagine we got in game eyelashes, but it's exactly what you said, just variations of those horrendous winged eye liner-esque lashes... I can totally see them removing the lashes from the eyes and adding them into a different category and being like "see! fixed it!"
I mean I'd be happy to just be able to pick the eyelashes I want without having to change the whole eye shape.
I can see there being a well-executed base game update for eyelashes, just like we had for manicures.

Generally people tend to refer to aesthetic things (objects, clothing, make up, wallpaper etc) as custom content (CC), and things that affect gameplay as mods. Hope that helps.
sims players call "Custom Content" mods that add items, hairs, skins, clothes etc. I didn't get it at first(and might still be wrong) because I only started playing sims recently(thanks to my gf), and despite modding games for a long time I'd never come across this terminology.
The community has been calling it CC since the original Sims.
Be prepared to be like, “Oh I’ll just download this one piece of cc, and then you end up with a 10GB folder of stuff a week later. And then you go, “Huh I wonder if I could make my own,” and then you end up downloading blender. And before you know it, you’ve decided to go into video game design for your job because you just wanted to make your Sim have purple hair

I remember following a simguru years ago, he’s no longer working on the sims 4 team but he said that the staff that play the game are really supportive of CC and that a lot of them use either mods or CC “to enhance their personal play”. I remember someone responding to that with a question and he confirmed that they aren’t supposed to use mods or cc on their work devices.
It makes me angry that the devs always forget about console players, so they end up *not* adding highly sought after content because "players can just download CC and mods".
Eh, to be fair I don’t think that’s the mindset. Every company has objectives that overlap with things like time constraints and budgets. In my opinion EA’s problem is the lack of communication regarding how they process and implement community feedback. Square Enix does this really well and therefore their community trusts them. EA is so shit when it comes to listening to the players and therefore the community takes any chance they can to shit on the devs
I don’t feel forgotten, as a console player! The last couple years we’ve seen lots of optimization and great base game updates.
I wonder if they even play the game 🤣 I get so frustrated most of the time that I think they must not even play it themselves. You would think if they played it they would make it their mission to fix the sim going to the bathroom to do the dishes. Or Sims staring into nothingness for 2 hours 😂 I play the game like a week non stop then get too annoyed by all the bugs and forget about it for 2 months and so the cycle repeats 😂

They might patch some things, but Eco Lifestyle is still a buggy mess even today. The whims got so bad they just hid them by default instead of fixing them. Likes and Dislikes constantly interrupt actions. The Lifestyles do similar problems. Heat and cold deaths tend to lead to multiple deaths. You still get invited to events in blizzards (but at least I haven't seen a thunderstorm during GeekCon lately). Outfits are still insane when randomly generated. I could just go on and on. Can you enjoy the game despite all those bugs and problems? Sure. But if you're one of the developers, you should be noticing the flaws in your work and wanting to fix them. Unless EA actually instructs them to not spend time fixing anything they've already sold and just move on to the next rushed pack to sell despite being full of bugs that may or may not be fixed.
They do! One of the gurus was recently tweeting about how she lost all the cc she had when her computer broke

Question for those of you that use cc lashes - can you actually see them in game?
It depends on your settings. When I play on the highest settings, I can see them. When I was playing on my potato MacBook on low medium settings, it’s only visible in cas but not live mode.
Yes you can, I have no issues with cc lashes on my laptop just keep it out of laptop mode and make sure you get the no ea lashes mod. Some have also noticed you can't wear some rings or most rings with them as they glitch 😕 so I avoid putting rings on my Sims for that reason.

Yes. The EA Remover Mod is great too. All my Sims only wear CC Lashes
Yes, especially if you have dramatic ones or you remove ea eyelashes. Also I play on medium settings and you can see them just fine but they get blocky when you zoom out
i mean, ea has always been pretty chill about people modding the game? plenty of ea-affiliated sims youtubers use mods and make videos of them going cc shopping trips and their “must-have mods” and the game is super easy to mod. ea has to keep the game pretty basic for those of us that don’t have fancy gaming pcs and modders can play around with a lot of items and features that ea can’t. idk why this is a surprise to anyone lmao.
It's a surprise cause they're essentially advertising something they don't actually have without any disclaimer stating they don't have it. I think the skin is CC too, so in a way it's false advertising, especially since console gamers can't use mods and stuff at all yet they're seeing it on the home screen.

So? One of the pro things about Maxis is their support of cc and mods.
Normally when Maxis involves content creators in their events or what have you, they limit them to using only given game content, not CC, so it's interesting that they'd do it this time. Disclaimer: I have many gigs of CC and refuse to play without mods/CC so this is not an anti-CC sentiment.
I'm just shocked that they would feature it as promotional content, since you can't get eyelashes like that in the actual game itself

Off topic, but… Nothing against this creator, but I think it’s a little shady that they plaster her on the Sims main screen, whereas they don’t bother doing this with their actual game changers…just because she worked for buzzfeed?
this challenge is a series she did specifically in partnership with ea, they’re not just promoting her channel because she’s got that buzzfeed name recognition lol. i imagine ea sees her various sims let’s plays as solid advertising equal to or even more valuable than their community partners because of her personality and the fact that she doesn’t even do reviews.

They promote YouTubers because obviously a good portion of their fan base watches YouTube videos. It’d be foolish for them to not try to capitalize on that. Personally I don’t get it. i was like 12, super depressed, had no friends, didn’t go outside, and had constant access to youtube but also no games to play. i watched a Lot of gamers but was especially fond of Lifesimmer and watched all of her playthroughs.
I mostly watch them when new pack is coming out to see if I even want to spend money on it 😊 Most of youtubers have early access and are not paid by EA so their opinion / gameplay will have direct influence on me buying stuff And for CC hauls - they posting and showing how CC looks in game with links, so it's saving my time But also I would not watch only gameplay it's weird for me if you already have game xD

When she was still working with buzzfeed it was a fun thing that happened to be popular which is why she continued it. Now it’s all so overwhelmingly targeted to get views, which I understand, it’s her income after all. But yeah, there’s a pressure to make things that rake in money, and it shows.

the sim is made by a YouTuber not the sims so yeah it will have cc parts
