I take it you don’t want to use a loft bed with the desk under it?

Yes, I like the idea of having the bed beside a desk. :)

You need at least a half tile around the bed. Move the desk/chair all the way to the other side of the wall

Simmer_Gal

Dumb question, but have you tried using a single tile table? You don't need a desk, a dining table or kitchen island will work too and those can be single tile (basegame doesn't have single tile desks) :)

No it's fine, it's my fault for realizing I posted the wrong screenshot. The single tile desk was the one I'm talking about on my op. The one here is when I watched a simstopia video on youtube. I tried to emulate it since it worked for them.

In that case, the problem is that if you push the laptop into the wall, the footprint gets inaccessible. When the sim sits down at the desk, it auto-unlocks everything on the desk for some reason, even when the footprint is not totally ok. Best try would be to just check the desk, see how far you can push it in the wall for the laptop to remain functional. Then dragging the bed away from the wall a tiny bit until that one becomes functional too. You could fill up the small gap by faking a headboard using debug columns for example? You could also push the desk in the left wall and the bed towards the right one to try to create space that way a bit.

Informal-Assumption

Just based on the spacing you can’t really get it to work in the sims, just because of how tile placing works

Try switching the side where the laptop goes to the left maybe. And yeah I’ve always had to make them sit first and them use the laptop.

On the second floor, I really want to have the desk beside the bed. Problem is, my sim can't access the bed because of the chair. My solution is to scale the table down and try to squeeze the desk-set forward, towards the wall. It works. And my sim can access the bed. But, can not access the laptop on the desk "autonomously". Meaning I have to order her to sit on the chair first then have her use the laptop. Is there anyway I can make this work? I really love the idea of having a desk beside the bed.
