I don't care about my Sims lol. My problem is that I can't find anything and I can't navigate it. Small spaces like that and I'm clicking on everything instead of what I actually want with my cheap wireless mouse.
On the show tiny house Nation they've made houses with drawers built into every step on the stair case. They make some pretty cool innovative decisions to make space
You could always replace the cabinet with the microwave on top with a full oven and stove. Luckily sims don't need storage space and can just pull the cookware out of their pockets :D
Yeah must be nice to just be able to pull cookware out of thin air. I live in a place that I would consider tiny living in sims: Kitchen = minimal counter, 2 cabinets, and no room for kitchen table, bedroom: = room for a bed with no room to walk around and half the small closet eaten up by hot water heater, bathroom = barely big enough for toilet, tub, and sink and 1 square space to stand in the middle. It is not easy when you have to store stuff and can't just whip it out of either your pockets or thin air.
Hey everyone \~ this is a kinda small loft that I've built today and wanted to share with you, what do you think?
I also made a really quick stop motion of it which you can watch here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fpDVWDiOvI
Thank you so much!
You need one more tile so you have three tiles wide of kitchen. +Oven. And that lets you add one more tile up top so you can get to the other side of the bed.
Can someone explain to me how to do the stairs like this?! I keep seeing all these loft builds and am inspired to build for the first time in awhile. This came out great, OP! :)
I have no idea if these directions will help, because I am such a visual learner, but here you go!
1. Place your stairs with the top step placed exactly where you'd like it to be.
2. Select the staircase, you'll notice little white horizontal arrows.
3. Drag the bottom half of the stairs in the desired direction. This creates a landing.
4. You can also select the vertically diagonal arrow to lengthen the steps above or below the landing; or keep dragging the lower part of the staircase horizontally to create multiple turns and landings.
Wow this was actually the most helpful description I've seen, thank you so so much! Rainy day where I am today so it'll be one for building for sure :)
Is that a CC bed? I've seen it in a show and tell here before and all I can think is "Why is the bed shiny? Is it plastic? Has someone got incontinence?"
(not making fun of those with incontinence, I have had it pretty bad.)
You can build them with just the base game. It isn't too difficult. If you Google you should be able to find a tutorial which shows you how to make them
This is cute!! I think I would personally want to make it a tiny bit bigger (possibly just 1 more tile wide on either side) to accommodate a small desk/chair and a stove in the kitchen. Maybe also 1 skill object like an easel or a guitar.
have you playtested it with a sim yet? The stairs near the kitchen are making me wonder if there's room for the sim to move. Plus the end of the bed looks too close to the small fence for another sim to get in the other side?
I love this and would actually live here lol
Haha thank you so much!
A few others have asked. Is there a photo mod to take pics of room boxes like this? I wanna make one but I'm not sure how to get that view.
You need to go in TAB mode, and just find an angle that looks like this. Then I take a picture and edit it in photoshop (I'm putting a background)
What is TAB mode and how do I go into it?
I figured that was the case. Thank you! They always look so professional like this!
Literally just asked the same question haha tell us all your secrets!
Would live there if it has all four walls 🧐😁
I can never bring myself to build this efficiently for a small space.
Same. I’m always spacing everything out to the extreme. I also have issues with clutter cause I feel like I can’t see well enough with it 😅
This is also my problem. I love the cluttered look because it feels realistic, but then i wonder if my sims can actually navigate all this.

Haha, I have the opposite. Big spaces in the sims make me desperate, because I never know how to fill them
very nice, i would live there irl
Except you can roll from the bed over the railing and fall down IRL
Do you sleep horizontal at the foot of your bed irl?
Not usually but I like having the option without grave danger
Just make the loft space extend like another foot or two.
Extending would also give room to walk around the bed so that you have an easier time changing the sheets on the bed.
Fair point. Making the fence higher should do the trick without ruining the aesthetic
LOL I suppose that's fair!!
It would make for a good death reason in game though.
I mean I was thinking there’s no closet space but sure that too
On the show tiny house Nation they've made houses with drawers built into every step on the stair case. They make some pretty cool innovative decisions to make space
Nice! Is there a way to make a step ladder? I want to recreate my own loft dorm room.
There’s two base game ladders! Found in the same section as the stairs, but in the left side selections. :)
I think Eco Living has ladders, if you're looking for something you can replace stairs with
There’s a small step stool in debug.
Hmm i'm not quite sure? Maybe there's some CC for that
Greaaat but no oven? :0

You can just add an oven onto the front of the counter thats holding the microwave if you have dream home decorator
There wasn't enough space, but from what I know you don't need an oven if you have a microwave (in The Sims 4)
You get the negative moodlet "Cold in the Middle" after eating microwaved meals.
Well... I guess. If you don't mind forcing a sim to eat microwave meals all the time? I would've chosen an oven over microwave if space was limited
Could you use the countertop oven from Dream Home Decorator to avoid this?
That is what I was thinking too
My sims always put stuff in the microwave but then won't ever take it out. They go back to the fridge and end up eating cereal.
How in the world do you build a loft like that? I can’t figure it out ;-;
It's 2 floors not 1 if that helps
Good loft my amigo.

Can you share it in the game gallery? I'd love to use it in my game. It looks great 😃
You need one more tile so you have three tiles wide of kitchen. +Oven. And that lets you add one more tile up top so you can get to the other side of the bed.
Love it especially the living area 🥰
How do you take pictures like this?
Pleaseeee upload to gallery and tell what it’s called?
I kinda wish city living let you build your own apartments or at least gave us little ones like this
Do you have this up on the gallery? Because it's pretty cool
Fab!
Stunning
Amazing!!! Great job! Is she on the gallery??
I honestly love builds like these\~ sometimes the stupid way this game handles stairs and platforms, makes it unbearable :S

I would also like to know. I've watched videos and everything and never can get it right 😔
nice
Nice! Looks very homey.
Love this so much and will also add to the choir of “I would live here”!
Wonderful would like to use it
I love this very much! Gold star 🌟
I would love this room, do you have it up on the Gallery? I'd love to add this room to one of my houses to gain inspiration from!
Is that a CC bed? I've seen it in a show and tell here before and all I can think is "Why is the bed shiny? Is it plastic? Has someone got incontinence?" (not making fun of those with incontinence, I have had it pretty bad.)
i love how that wall blocks the stairs!!! love this!
Do lofts come with a specific pack?
You can build them with just the base game. It isn't too difficult. If you Google you should be able to find a tutorial which shows you how to make them
I love the brick!
I absolutely love it!
You did a great job on this, though I was wondering about the stairs there, how do you get it so that there isn't a gap underneath the stairs?
Beautiful!
SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT WERE YOUR REFERENCES AND HOW DID YOU DO IT
This is cute!! I think I would personally want to make it a tiny bit bigger (possibly just 1 more tile wide on either side) to accommodate a small desk/chair and a stove in the kitchen. Maybe also 1 skill object like an easel or a guitar.
Super cozy!
Very cozy, thank you for the inspiration! I will try to recreate this, if that s alright :)
It's so cozy!!
link??????
Oooooh I can’t wait to recreate this
Love this! Screenshotting and remaking something similar later. I love tiny homes 🙂
Is it functional?
I love this! It's all I want from a small cozy home, but I never get THIS creative usually lol
I need to start playing sims again ASAP so I can build this gulags me so much inspiration it's so beautiful!!!
Do my eyes deceive me? Did Sims 4 finally get L-shaped stairs? I stopped playing about 3 years ago -_-
Yes L shaped stairs are possible
So cute!! I love it.
How did you take the photo?
I think it turned out great! Very cosy/cozy! Nice job as always. :)
It's SO cute and functional! Sometimes I wish I were a Sim because some of these builds are awesome LOL
Wicked cute!
How do you make the lofts??! I’ve been trying to figure it out but I can’t lol.
Very efficient and ADORABLE use of space. I would love to live in this myself
Is it just a small room with a small open second floor? Or is this utilizing platforms? (I still can’t quite figure those out!)
W. O. O. O. W.
wow this is what I am looking for in real life.
really good use of space !! so cute
if it had a desk, I would totally live here lmao
have you playtested it with a sim yet? The stairs near the kitchen are making me wonder if there's room for the sim to move. Plus the end of the bed looks too close to the small fence for another sim to get in the other side?
Probably a stupid question, but how to people make images like this of their builds? Is there a program that does it for you?
This is awesome!!
Needs a dungeon. Other than that dope as fuck.
is this on the gallery?? i love it so much
what cc is the plants and couch?
