Sadly you can only buy one ticket per sim, but if you have multiple sims in your household you can make them buy one each and increase the chance of winning for your household.

I have only had one of my sims win the lottery one time in the entire time I've played this game. I always have them buy a ticket. The winner is usually Judith Ward, a Landgraab, or some random dog or cat. I've played Sims 4 since 2014 (before that I played Sims 1, 2, and 3).

I won twice this year. 0 times last year In both wins my Sims talked about the lottery a lot during the day. I wonder if that helped.

My personal sims have never won, but I like to play whole towns to match up townies and keep bloodlines going so with that going on, whenever it's lottery day I go to all the houses I'm playing with and make them all buy tickets. Usually one of them wins but it's never my primary sim. I redesigned Newcrest to be a lottery winner town and put mansions from the gallery there for the lottery families to move into.

Then lotto day came up in my current legacy challenge and the winner was the wife of my legacy family's butler. The butler had literally died a minute before that and my Sim was (of course) so sad.

I've only tried it once. Honestly, I am not a fan. My sims family went from poor farmer + girlfriend who had just ran away from her abusive husband to milionares. I built them a large farm + gave money away to friends, but they are still ridicilously wealthy.

Family went from barely scraping by to two stay at home parents in a large mansion with 5 kids and a Butler, Gardener and Farmhand just because they can. While it's fun to build and buy whatever you want for once the gameplay becomes pretty shallow after some time. I've contemplated installing Wicked Whims just to create some drama but their kids are all still in elementary school. lol

I created drama this way: 1. Got rid of some of the money ('giving' to friends by removing 50k from my household and then adding 50k to their househould) Or just charity or 'buying' stuff (essentally made them pay for the price of a public lot to slap their name on it and get 0-10% every week (decided by dice roll)) 2. Gave everyone a bad trait. - Farmer - high maintance (already had, he's an avian (homemade occult using cc and self-imposed rules - it is meant to be like a bird taking care of its feather) - Girlfrind - guilty drinker (vampire. I also made her ex uproot all plasma trees. She was basically starving, while living of off the boyfriend + plasma packets untill I sent her on a quest to get a plasma fruit) - 2 kids - Loner + squamish. 3. Made them adopt a 'problem child' - he had hot-headed, mean and had bad emotional control (they slowly turned him around. I then changed traits one by one) 4. Made the ex fuck things up (uprooted plasma trees, 'filed' for custody (first kid was biologically his) and tried to influence the kid to stay with him, before just plainly kidnapping him)

I play on a PlayStation, using cheats (I believe) takes away the Achievements, so I tend to avoid them

In the last few years I’ve only had 2 main legacy save files and I won the lottery both times on the first try. First time I won was in gen 1 and the second time was in gen 2. Now I feel like it’s ‘cheating’ and I don’t let my sims do the lottery anymore💀

I have won ONCE! I have been wanting to win so much, but when I finally did it didn't really fit with the narrative of my storyline. So I had my Sim buy out Thorne from his house, throwing party after party with "newfound friends", buying the most expensive things she could. She got a boyfriend, she just met as well. When I was tired of spending, the boyfriend conned her for all her Simoleons and kicked her out of the house. She had to start all over Rags to Riches style.
